A MANAGER at Digitron Business Systems who reportedly attempted to throw his wife from the first floor of his business premises after she had caught him with a lover at work appeared in court this week.
Trymore Tichafa Nyakutambwa, 49, of 7921 Cold Comfort, appeared before Harare magistrate Nomsa Sabarauta charged with physical abuse.
He was remanded to May 24 for continuation of the trial. The complainant is Thembinkosi Dube, 43, residing at the same address as Nyakutambwa.
Prosecutor Devotion Nyagano alleged that on March 23 this year around 2pm Dube went to her husband’s workplace and discovered that Nyakutambwa was with his girlfriend.
She confronted her hubby about the issue but he became violent and started assaulting his wife. He even went further attempting to throw her down from the first floor of the building to the ground.
My kids had been left at the accused person’s work place by my driver after school closure. I found his girlfriend at the office and he told me not to ask unnecessary questions because they broke up,” Dube told the court.
“He did not care to respect that his workmates were present and began assaulting and strangling me threatening that he would kill me.
“I was rescued by one of his workmates Allan who pulled him off when he attempted to throw me from the first floor of the building. I had to hold on to metal bars to avoid being thrown over.”
However, Nyakutambwa denied the allegations and claimed his wife had fabricated her story.
