Coach Norman Mapeza named regular players in the team with the likes of Petros Mhari, Perfect Chikwende, Gift Bello, Rahman Kutsanzira and Gift Mbwete making the selection.
FC Platinum have announced their travelling squad for the Champions League preliminary round encounter against Mozambique champions, Costa do Sol, on Saturday.
Here is the squad in full: Petros Mhari, Nomore Chinyerere, Perfect Chikwende, Donald Dzvinyai, Kelvin Madzongwe, Raphael Muduwiwa, Brian Banda, Denzel Khumalo, William Stima, Gift Bello, Tizayi Francis, Rahman Kutsanzira, Rainsome Pavari, Lawrence Mhlanga, Ralph Kawondera, Elias Maguri, Silas Dylan Songani, Evidence Tendayi, Ilunga Elie, Gift Mbweti, Tawana Chikore and Future Sibanda.
Meanwhile, Mapeza said he had very little time to be able to instil his philosophy in some of the players who came after he had left the club. The former Chippa United coach said if his charges give him at least 30 per cent of what they worked on in the last three days, he will be happy. He said:
If they give me just 30 per cent of what we were working on in the last three days, I will be a happy man. A lot has changed since I left the club, new players have come in also.
I haven’t had enough time to have a definitive opinion of them but I am sure those who were here during my time have told them of my philosophy and what I expect from my players.
Mapeza has been working with the team from Monday, having taken over from Dutchman Pieter De Jongh who was sacked last week. De Jongh was shown the exit door soon after CAF announced that for foreigners, only pro licence holders a shall now be allowed to sit on the bench during CAF interclub matches.
