Update on Bindura mine collapse: Video of the mine where 30 are feared dead. Mine disaster occurs as a lot of miners are trapped at Renmine in Bindura after a disused mine shaft collapsed while they were underground.
Witnesses say between 20 and 40 artisanal miners were underground at the time and it is being suspected that most of them are youth. We hope that recovery operations will save their lives.
This brings to light the working conditions of those within the mining industry, as well as the concern regarding the informal mining activities that have also claimed many lives over the years. Watch video below
