FC Platinum players give a warm welcome back to Norman Mapeza. Club captain and goalkeeper Petros Mhari told H-Metro that the majority of the players were elated when they were informed of Mapeza’s return as most of them had worked with him before.
FC Platinum players have welcomed returning coach Norman Mapeza with open arms after the club rehired him last week to replace sacked Dutchman Pieter De Jongh. Said Mhari:
When we heard that coach Norman was coming back, everyone was happy. Most of the guys worked with him before so it was good news to hear that. Ralph Kawondera, who joined FC Platinum after Mapeza’s departure, said he had always wanted to be trained by the former Chippa United gaffer. He said;
I am very happy to have coach Mapeza back at the club. It has always been my wish in my football career to be coached by him. I will learn a lot from him and I think his tactics will help me become a good player.
I am not worried that coach Mapeza is back at the club, though I was signed by coach De Jongh who has since left. I believe that I’m in his plans, all that I can say is I am happy that the coach is back.
Nomore Chinyerere also expressed happiness over Mapeza’s return saying the coach has a good philosophy and also understands the system and culture at the club. FC Platinum begin their 2020-21 Champions League campaign with a trip to Costa Do Sol of Mozambique this Friday.
