Man blessed by his dead wife. But little did madala Silas Mpai (60) know that he would return home in a brand new car. This after he won a Hyundai Atos, which the mall was giving away in a competition.

He went to Mams Mall in Mamelodi, east of Tshwane on Friday, 3 December to buy groceries. Madala Silas believes winning the car is the work of his late wife. He said his wife, Anna (51), died in November last year and before she died, they dreamt of owning a car.

“My wife is blessing me from the grave. We planned to buy a car one day, even though we didn’t have money,” he said. He said things have been going well for his family since his wife’s death.

“Although it was painful to lose the love of my life, we haven’t faced any difficulties. She is our guardian angel. I also believe my wife is rewarding me for being a good father to our four children. This is the best Christmas gift for me and my family,” he said.

Madala Silas vowed not to sell the car as he believes it is a gift from his ancestor.

Mams Mall marketing manager, Nthabiseng Moremela said this was the first time they ran the competition. “This competition will run annually. We feel proud as a mall because we are giving back to the community that has been loyal and supportive throughout the years,” she said.
