Progress Chipfumo 44th birthday: I feel so young. The Sounds of Motherland boss said he was also grateful for the love and faith his fans have in him. Chipfumo, whose tough upbringing is no secret, sees the grace of the Lord after living more than four decades.
Musician Progress Chipfumo, who turns 44 this Friday, says he feels younger and more invigorated. I feel like a young man, happy and sad at the same time,” he told H-Metro Entertainment & Lifestyle.
“When I take a closer look at my life, I can’t believe God has taken me this far because I have lost so many friends along the way that I sometimes feel like crying.
“Healthwise, I feel like I am getting younger and energetic because I’m particular with the stuff that I consume. “It’s not by choice that I am still alive but it can be by God’s grace that I am here celebrating with you,” he said. Asked how he would celebrate his birthday, Chipfumo said:
“I would have wanted to throw a massive party and merry-make with my usual fans but we can’t do that anymore due to the surge in Covid-19 cases.
“Of course hatizoshaye masmall-small on the day in question. I have to do something small with my inner circle.”
As an influencer of note, Chipfumo urged Zimbabweans to remain firm and resolute during such difficult times of Covid-19 pandemic. “My birthday message to fans will always remain the same – love and respect each other.
“We are living in difficult times where some have lost their beloved ones but I always encouraged people to have faith in the Lord all the time.
“Life might be difficult but the Lord will always provide the way; we are more than conquerors and fighters,” added Chipfumo.
The former Hohodza Hot Band member has been in the game for over two decades churning out chart-toppers. However, Chipfumo has had some bad off stage antics but his quality music always eclipses his shenanigans.
