Warriors captain Musona named man-of-the-match in Al-Tai’s crucial win

Warriors captain Knowledge Musona named man-of-the-match in Al-Tai’s crucial win. Musona provided two assists as his team romped to an impressive 3-0 win over Al-Batin to move into 10th place, on the 16-team table. Al-Tai, who are now on 22 points, were just above the relegation zone, before the win at the weekend.

Knowledge Musona was voted man-of-the-match after helping his Saudi team, Al-Tai, collect maximum points, which helped move them out of the relegation zone, at the weekend.

The team announced Musona as their player-of-the-match after a performance that saw the Zimbabwean receiving a lot of praise, from a number of fans, on social media. The 31-year-old set up Argentine midfielder Tobías Figueroa, who scored the team’s second goal, in the 76th minute.

He went on to provide another assist for Swiss international, Cephas Malele, to seal victory for the Faris Al Shamal, in stoppage time. The result saw the Saudi Arabian Pro League side end a four-match winless streak.

Musona played the entire match and made three key passes, after making 62 touches, while his pass accuracy was 91 percent. “As beautiful as the beauty of nature in Zimbabwe. Beautiful magician, joy maker. Thank you so much,” posted a fan.

Another Zimbabwe international, Jordan Zemura was in action as Bournemouth scored in time added on to win 2-1 at Blackpool in a Championship encounter. The Warriors defender was instrumental for the Cherries. Bournemouth remain second on the standings to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Tendayi Darikwa played the entire match as second-placed Wigan beat Charlton Athletic, in League One, to keep promotion hopes alive. Darikwa captains Wigan who are in the third-tier of the English football system.

However, it was heartbreak for Khama Billiat in South Africa, after Kaizer Chiefs were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup by TS Galaxy. Billiat lasted for 57 minutes as they blew a chance to end their silverware drought.
