President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged the people of Mashonaland Central to vote resoundingly for ZANU PF in the forthcoming By-Elections.
He was speaking at the installation of Paradzayi Kutyauripo as substantive Chief Negomo in Chiweshe this Saturday.
Addressing thousands of people who gathered at the Negomo homestead in Kakora, Chiweshe, for the installation of Paradzayi Kutyauripo as substantive Chief Negomo, President Mnangagwa called on the people of Mashonaland Central to maintaining their record of winning elections resoundingly by voting for Zanu PF in seven wards where Council By-Elections will be held on the 26th of this month.
“On behalf of Zanu PF, I thank you because in Mashonaland Central you are resilient since the days of the liberation struggle, you always win resoundingly. Mai Mavhunga told me there are only Local Government Elections and no Legislative Elections, so I want you to promise me all seven will come from Zanu PF,” he said.
The President also called for peaceful elections.
“We want peace, we don’t want noise. Noise was there during the war when there was death and injury. Now we are at a stage where we are keeping our inheritance,” said the President.
President Mnangagwa attended the Installation Ceremony as a son-in-law of the Negomo family, with Paradzayi Kutyauripo being installed as the 13th Chief Negomo.
He also handed over 120 bicycles to local headmen in the area.
