The Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the Muzenda family played a critical role during the liberation struggle.
He said this when he offered his condolences to the Muzenda family following the death of Mbuya Maud Muzenda on Tuesday.
Mnangagwa who visited the Muzenda family this evening at their Chispite home in Harare said he is one of the many cadres who got support from Mbuya Muzenda during the liberation struggle.
He paid tribute to both Mbuya Muzenda and her husband the late Vice President Simon Vengai Muzenda for being a rare and loving couple.
He expressed his gratitude at visiting the Muzenda family as he said that he has not been feeling well.
From the Muzenda homestead, Vice President Mnangagwa proceeded to Belvedere to console the Rutanhire family following the death of Peter Clever George Rutanhire on Saturday.
