The superstar is currently in Italy living her best life and taking the Gqom and Piano movement to greater international heights. The dance took to social media to share a video clip of her dancing in the busy streets of Italy and amidst the love, she is receiving from fans, many others are showing hate and harsh criticism against Mphela claiming that her dance moves are “outdated” and that she does not deserve the SAMA nomination and instead it should have been given to Kelvin Momo.
This all started after entertainment commentator Musa Khawula shared a video of Kamo dancing and the Twitter streets found an opportunity to share their opinions and criticism on the video. In the tweet caption, Khawula wrote, “Kamo Mphela in Italy” before having a pool of hateful comments taking jabs at the dancer’s moves.

One user took to Twitter and wrote, “I honestly wouldn’t have a girlfriend who goes around dancing on the streets no matter how much it brings to the pocket.” Another one wrote over a picture of choreographer Bontle Modiselle, “This is the only South African dancer that can turn Italy upside down.” Another tweep who had something to say was popular Tweleb Chris Excel who teased Kamo with the tweet, “Why is she scaring Italians?”
The Nkulunkulu hitmaker, however, remains unfazed by the social media hate back in Mzansi and continues to shine and do things the way she sees fit in Europe. Today the star also shared more TikTok videos enjoying herself and dancing yet again in the streets of Europe, this time, in the love capital of the world, Paris, France.
Even with so much hate going on, other social media users including celebrities have been showing love to Kamo Mphela, her looks and dance moves to motivate her to continue doing her. DJ and cultural shift shaper Lelowhatsgood took to Twitter to give the singer her flowers. He wrote, “LOVE how Kamo Mphela is taking care of her brand and artistry. The visuals? Her image? The music? Everything is communicating”. Another user shared her love for the dancer in a tweet that reads, “Kamo can still dance, y’all just become haters when people succeed at life.”
