Former Scandal! actor Brighton Ngoma has made a TV comeback with a queer role. He gained popularity while playing the role of Quinton Nyathi on the e.tv soapie.

He’s now landed a role as T-Bang on Ubettina Wethu on SABC1.

Speaking about his new role, Brighton said that T-Bang has the dirt on everyone.

The actor from Mpumalanga told SunBuzz he is happy to be back and unleash other sides of himself that people don’t know of.

“As an actor, I pride myself in being able to portray characters from different walks of life, so being able to represent a member of the LGBTQI+ community is a privilege,” he said.

Brighton said he is having a lot of fun learning more about their needs and wants.

“In my opinion, the community is completely misunderstood.

“It’s going to take ages before traditional society is accepting of people that are different to them,” he said.

The actor said he hopes to play characters that represent all parts of society, regardless of colour, religion, or sexual orientation.

“It’s exciting being part of another season of the show. It’s fresh, fun, and vibrant,” said Brighton.
