The ruling Zanu-PF party will spend $6 million on this forthcoming congress. The revelation has infuriated Zanu-PF’s rivals who believe the money should have been used to cushion the majority of Zimbabweans who are wallowing in poverty.
Zanu-PF will hold its congress in December, during which delegates will consider amending amending the party’s constitution to allow a woman to occupy one of the positions for vice president.
It is being held at a time when the cost of living has significantly increased owing to liquidity crunch and wide-spread shortages of foreign currency.
