Low volumes of trade between the two sister republics of Tanzania and Zimbabwe will be reviewed soon after elections as there is scope for expansion.
This came out when President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is on a 2-day official visit to Tanzania, met his counterpart President John Magufuli in Dar es Salaam yesterday where the two leaders held extensive talks.
Speaking at the Tanzanian State House soon after their talks, President Mnangagwa and host President Magufuli agreed that the solid foundation laid by their predecessors must be respected and their role is to build on it.
The two leaders said the legacy of the founding fathers of their two nations will be protected at all cost.
Speaking at a dinner hosted for President Mnangagwa in Dar es Salaam, the two actually said as new leaders their task is to better the lives of their people.
Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa had an opportunity to address Zimbabweans living and working in Tanzania – they gathered to hear him speak on developments back home.
The President assured them that his administration will not fail the nation.
