The ruling party, Zanu PF has assured the African Union (AU) observer mission that it will accept the outcome of the 2018 harmonised elections regardless of the winner.
An AU election observer team today held closed door talks with Zanu PF officials on the state of preparedness of the elections.
Speaking to the ZBC News after the meeting, Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Dr Obert Mpofu said while the team sought clarity on whether the ruling party will accept the poll outcome, it was told that the ruling party is more than ready to accept the results of the election.
The meeting was held at a time the ruling party has also reaffirmed commitment to holding a peaceful, transparent and violence free election.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo today met three SADC ambassadors who were led by Mphakama Mbete of South Africa.
The other two ambassadors are Predo Handrick Vaal Neto of Angola and Balbina Daes Piennar of Namibia.
The three ambassadors wanted to find out about developments towards the holding of the July 30 harmonised elections.
They commended the peace that is prevailing in the country and said they hope the elections will be held in a tranquil environment.
They also said they hope the ZEC issue will be resolved amicably.
The ambassadors, who form a SADC Troika, said their doors are open if there are untoward developments as Zimbabweans go to the polls.
