Zim dancehall female chanter Ninja Lipsy – real name Tendazvaitwa Chitimbe– said she is now using her entrepreneurship skills to complement her music.
The Highfield bred chanter rose to fame after her collaboration with Winky D dubbed Taitirana.
In an interview, she said on her free time she will be braiding and baking cakes for commercial purposes.
When I don’t hold live shows, I use the time to make braided wigs and also do make up.
“I am also baking cakes for commercial purposes.
“As you know things are a bit hard these days and people have no money so I hardly get shows.
“At the end of the day I will still need to eat and dress so I am now using other skills to put food on the table,” she said.
She added:
“Women want to look presentable on weddings, parties and other gatherings, so I have ventured in make up too.”
Ninja Lipsy also encouraged women to work hard and avoid relying on male counterparts for survival.
“Women should try to put food on the table on their own without depending much on men.
“I encourage all women to work extra hard unongozivawo musha mukadzi.”
Ninja Lipsy who is yet to record an album has several singles which won hearts of many among them are Mababe Anoita, Heavy Koso, Ninja Kadzi, Muchandichema Sei and Chingoma.
