The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) says it is geared at nurturing versatile members of the uniformed forces who can contribute to the realisation of the country’s broader socio-economic aspirations.

ZNA has reaffirmed its resolve to investing in human resources development in order to develop resourceful soldiers who can contribute to socio-economic transformation.

Officiating at the graduation ceremony to mark the successful completion of the general squad drill and small arms course number 10 (1) of 2018 held at 1 2 Infantry Battalion in Hwange, Colonel Edgar Dube from Headquarters 1 Infantry Brigade highlighted that the ZNA will continue to prioritise human resources development.

“I have no doubt that the visits you made during the course gave you insights on the socio-economic and environmental development ensuing in the country ushered in by the new dispensation,” he said.

Colonel Dube hailed the increase in the number of female soldiers participating in the career course.

He urged the graduands to be exemplary and remain disciplined throughout their military career.

A total of 90 students drawn from all the formations and units of the ZNA graduated after successfully completing the 14 weeks training programme.

The career course covered subjects which include civil military relations, field craft, platoon weapons, foot and arms drill and range work.

During the training, the students had a chance to visit Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls International Airport.

Meanwhile, the ZNA has been actively involved in a number of community assistance programmes in Matabeleland North Province which include the construction of the Insiza Bridge, building of classroom blocks at Fairview Primary School and demining exercise in Lusulu.
