The production of passports has resumed following a system malfunction which was rectified on Friday.
The Registrar General’s office is now producing 8 000 passports a day as it struggles to clear the 280 000 backlog.
This was said by the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Ambassador Cain Mathema who also has dismissed social media reports that the passport fees are set to be rising soon.
