ZACC dismisses Kuda Tagwirei corruption allegations: He is innocent. The anti-corruption body said that the allegations which were made by suspended former Zanu PF Youth leaders Godfrey Tsenengamu and Lewis Matutu are baseless and do not meet the minimum standard required to initiate an investigation. Tagwirei is a known ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has dismissed corruption allegations raised against business tycoon Kuda Tagwirei. At an explosive press conference, Matutu and Tsenengamu sensationally claimed that Tagwirei was leading a cartel which was responsible for the suffering of the people. After the press conference, Matutu filed corruption allegations Tagwirei with ZACC.

However, ZACC chairperson Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo said the anti-graft body has tossed away the allegations because they did not meet the minimum standard. Said Matanda-Moyo according to New Zimbabwe. “What happened was that only one of the two came to ZACC and made a general report and said that so and so is corrupt.

“As ZACC, those are not the sort of reports that we expect. There are standards that have to be met. You have to meet basic standards to enable ZACC to open a file. “Imagine if ZACC was to open a file based on a general allegation that so and so is corrupt, how many files would we have? We do not just take opinions, they must be some basis for saying someone is corrupt.”

Justice Matanda Moyo who is the wife of Foreign Affairs Minister Sibusiso Moyo also said that this was a political fight and ZACC would not get its hands dirty in such a matter. “We are not a political outfit. ZACC is apolitical and we do not want to be used in any political fights. If people have evidence and positive leads, we are their friends.

“But let me categorically state that we have never received any solid complaints regards their cases. What they said was just an allegation without any prima facie evidence. So whatever matters we are investigating are not because of them.”
