Jilted man demands DNA tests after wife elopes with ex-boyfriend. A Bulawayo family was left in shock after their daughter-in-law, who has a 5-month-old child dumped her husband and eloped with her former lover.
The adulterous wife, Caren Chibatamoto,29, used to stay with her husband’s grandmother in Bulawayo. Her husband, Gift Ndebele, 36, works away from home in Maphisa. Caren’s lover is reported to have been brazen enough to come and collect her from her in-laws’ when the two eloped.
Gogo Agness Ndlovu who was the one who had to deliver the bad news to her grandson, told the weekly publication, B-Metro, “My daughter-in-law and I went to the maize fields at around 8 am. She had her child on her back. At around 10 am a man came and asked to talk to me. He told me he had come to fetch his wife. I looked uncomprehendingly at him and he repeated the statement.
He told me he has been coming to my house to see our daughter-in-law and even knew my bedroom and at times he slept at my house when my grandson was away in Maphisa where he does business. I have never seen anything like this.”
Caren’s former husband, Gift, said that he had been devasted by the incident because he trusted his wife completely and never imagined that she was stepping out. He is now doubting the paternity of his two other children and is working to raise the money for DNA tests. The doubt was triggered after Caren confessed that the 5-month-old child was not even his.
“I have two children with her. I’m doubtful that the two children are mine because when I phoned her to bring back the five-month-old child she told me that the child is not mine. But all along I thought I had two children. I want to do a DNA test because I don’t know whether the three-year-old girl that remained here is mine. I have raised a substantial amount and soon I will be going there,”
An unrepentant Caren refused to comment on the matter saying that it was all in the past.
