ED officiates at the groundbreaking of Gutu hospital maternity wing. President Mnangagwa this Friday officially launched the commencement of the construction of a maternity wing at Gutu Hospital.

He marked the official launch of works when he broke ground at the site where the maternity wing will be built after a cleanup exercise which he headlined at Mupandawana shopping centre.

Addressing Mupandawana people, President Mnangagwa castigated acts of violence and called for peace and unity for the betterment and development of the nation.

“Lately, there are some people who are in the habit of burning buses and shops. Buses help us move from point 1 to point 2 and the very same shops that we destroy is where we buy our daily needs. You can not be destroying things because things are tough. A country can only develop when it is stable, peaceful and united,” said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa also praised the people of Mupandawana for embracing the national cleanup exercise by keeping their environment clean. “It is very pleasing how you have embraced the cleanup exercise, your shops and environment is well kept am very impressed,” he said.

President Mnangagwa was accompanied by senior government officials. Government has set aside the first Friday of every month as a national environment cleaning day.

The national clean-up, which is conducted between 8 am and 10 am on the first Friday of every month, has seen people becoming increasingly aware of the need to keep their environment clean.
