Precious Nyika appointed as Lafarge Cement’s CEO. She takes over from Kaziwe Siame Kaulule who has been elevated to another challenging position within the company. Cement manufacturer, Lafarge Zimbabwe (Limited) has appointed Precious Nyika as Chief Executive Officer with effect from March 1 2020.
In a statement, the company’s board chairman, Kumbirai Katsande described the new CEO as a dynamic and results-oriented business leader. “She is a Zimbabwean national who joined Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe in 2011 coming from a role as Operations General Manager in the furniture retail and manufacturing industry.
“Prior to being appointed to this role, Precious was working as a Director in charge of Human Resources, Strategy and Communications in Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe,” he said.
Katsande said Nyika is a results-driven and accomplished executive with over 15 years of experience leading teams in Human Resource Management, Strategy, Operations Management, Projects, Innovation, business consulting and communications.
“From her track record in Lafarge, Precious is skilled at formulating business strategy and mobilising teams to implement the strategy with rigour that delivers results. She also achieved remarkable results while serving as President of the Institute of People Management IPMZ from 2017-2019,” he said.
She has also served on boards of many organisations across various industries covering professional institutions, banking organisations, non-governmental organisations and parastatals.
Precious graduated with a Bsc Honours in Psychology and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Zimbabwe. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in Leadership from Harvard Business school.
