Sad scene as man kills heavily pregnant ex-wife in cold blood. According to police reports, the now-deceased 40-year-old woman whose name has not yet been disclosed was seven months pregnant at the time of the incident.
In a gut-churning development, a 43-year-old South African man allegedly stabbed his estranged wife who was heavily pregnant to death. This publication has learnt of the grisly murder from the Dailysun.
The assailant is alleged to have murdered his former wife in cold blood on Friday for reasons which are currently being investigated by the police. After committing the crime, he then fled the scene. He was then caught by the police near the crime scene after they were alerted of the murder.
Western Cape police spokesperson FC van Wyk confirmed the crime and said that the man was arrested minutes after killing his former wife. ‘Vredenburg police were notified of a murder that took place in Greenfield Street, George Karrige, Vredenburg. When the members arrived at the scene, they were notified that the suspect had fled the scene on foot.
A quick chase ensued, and the suspect was found and arrested in the vicinity of the crime scene. The suspect was removed from the scene as female community members wanted to harm him,’ Van Wyk said.
The man is expected to appear in the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
