Suspected Coronavirus cases reported in Bulawayo. In a very frightening development, suspected Coronavirus cases have been reported in Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, Bulawayo. According to reports reaching iHarare from state-media, the suspected cases have been reported at Mpilo Central Hospital and the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).
One of the suspected coronavirus patients is a woman who entered the country from Dubai through South Africa. She is reported to have been showing possible symptoms of the virus before being rushed to hospital.
Authorities have said that one of the patients at UBH has tested negative of the COVID-19 virus whilst the other patient who is currently admitted at Mpilo hospital is under investigation.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has revealed that no confirmed cases of the new virus have been recorded in the country as yet despite numerous suspected cases. The first suspected coronavirus case in the country was reported in Harare at Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital last month.
The 27-year-old suspect had arrived into the country from China-the epicentre of the virus. Although the patient tested negative of the virus, the suspected case sent shock waves around the country, leaving many wondering whether the country is capable to defend itself from the deadly virus.
