Somgaga has denied such disrespect on our mothers, sisters, and aunts because they play a very vital role in our lives, therefore they need to be respected.
Media personality Somizi Mhlongo, has slammed CY Frozen Foods, a Musina based butchery, for disrespecting domestic workers following their advert. The butchery has come under a lot of criticism after it posted an advert that, it is open for business during this lockdown and they are selling ‘domestic worker’s food’ which included chicken necks, gizzards, heads, and feet on their list.
The advert had many saying it had racist undertones and it undermines the dignity of domestic workers.
Somizi has also come out with guns blazing to slam the company. He said domestic workers play a significant role in our lives and, they don’t deserve such disrespect.
The TV star made an example that their home is also their helpers home, he added that she can eat anything she wants and even drink whatever.
Somizi said the company owes South African mothers and aunts an apology. ‘Ok what kind of msunery is this…….domestic workers play a huge role in our lives……they dont deserve such disrespect……..thina our home is also caroline’s home……she eats whatever we eat…..and if she wants can drink whatever……..nxa…….they owe our mothers sisters aunt’s who look after our home a huge apology‘, he wrote.
Tweeps have also said the company’s remarks were sheer racism, bigotry, and an insult to their beloved mothers, fathers, and sisters.
