Unnamed government officials have reportedly ordered teachers in public schools not to wear anything yellow in colour during working hours.

Yellow is the colour adopted by the newly formed opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party led by Nelson Chamisa.

According to Progressive Teachers Association of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) officials, the directive not to wear anything yellow was communicated to teachers verbally.

Even schoolchildren have not been spared with reports suggesting that schools with yellow uniforms have been directed to abandon them and pick different colours. PTUZ National Coordinator, Harison Mudzuri, said:

It is shocking that the govt of Zimbabwe has ordered teachers NOT to wear anything yellow.

Schools with yellow uniforms have been directed to change them.

No explanation was given for these verbal directives.

PTUZ president Takavafira Zhou told Pindula News that some of their members have confirmed receiving the directive but as a union, they haven’t received anything concrete from education authorities. He said:

The decree is a nullity. It is not possible for a school to change the colour of its uniform considering that schools adopted the colour first before the formation of CCC.

Whoever made the decree may try to discourage schools from choosing the colour but that cannot be done for schools already using yellow since laws cannot be applied retrospectively.

A message has been circulating on social media platforms claiming the decree for teachers not to wear anything yellow was made during a recent meeting of school heads in Marondera, though it is not clear who gave the instruction.

The world today is filled with a lot of public relationships. Sometimes, it gives one the impression that relationships are only meant to be public. Slowly couples are beginning to forget the sacred act of keeping a relationship private.

Despite the growing humiliation couples in the limelight face after breaking up with the one whom they once claimed was the love of their life.

Today we will be looking at some advantages of keeping your relationship private.

1. Time to grow stronger

In a private relationship, it’s just you and your partner in the relationship. There are no spectators watching to see how the relationship will turn out, with more than half wishing it would end. With the absence of all other external forces, it gives your relationship all the space it needs to grow to its fullest potential.

Just like how you will first seed in isolation from weeds and other harsh factors until it’s strong enough to withstand hard conditions. That’s the exact same thing keeping your relationship private do for you. It allows the relationship to gets as much love, attention, and support it needs to become stronger.

2. Avoids unnecessary attacks

“White teeth aren’t white heart” It’s no more news that not everyone that smiles with you actually wishes you well. There are some persons out there right now that aren’t happy for who you are with. Most of them are seriously praying for your relationship to end so they can either have their shot at you or your partner.

Most times, they don’t just think of it only. They hatch evil plans of how to end your relationship and carry them out. The plan ends up working if the relationship isn’t strong enough.

But when you keep your relationship private, it eliminates undue hatred and reduced/no attack from external forces.

3. Lesser interference

This is another prime advantage of keeping your relationship private. Keeping your relationship private keeps all the noise away. There are so many things and people that will try to interfere with your relationship when it isn’t private. A few of such things are family, friends. society, religion, even social media, and your haters.

This just a few of it but I am sure you understand the point. There are just too much interference that can sharp or terminate a relationship untimely. This is why keeping the relationship private is very important.

4. Fewer relationship problems

You don’t need a magician to tell you that if your relationship is growing strong in isolation, has fewer external attacks, and no external interference, it would result to lesser relationship problems. You wouldn’t have to fight over little things like “why didn’t you defend me in front of your friends?” or “Why didn’t you post my picture on your WhatsApp status?”

There are just many problems that the relationship wouldn’t face when it is kept private. The only problems you would encounter in a private relationship are core relationship problems. And resolving these types of problems would create a stronger bond in the relationship.

5. Results to a long-lasting relationship

This is the end product of keeping a good relationship private. Just like the example of the plant I gave earlier in the article after the seed is planted in isolation for it to develop a little before moving to its permanent site where it grows till the day it dies.

The same thing happens in a relationship kept private. During its private stage, it grows very strong and addresses all core relationship problems. Then when it finally goes public, it can easily handle anything the public will throw its way. Therefore making the relationship last longer.

6. Move on easier

In a situation where the relationship doesn’t work in private, it’s way easier for you to move on because you do not have to bother about what other people would think because, at this point, they know nothing about your relationship and therefore have no opinion on it.

Also, if the relationship doesn’t work, you will have closure in knowing you gave it the best shot at it working but it still didn’t work. That’s probably a sign it wasn’t meant to be.

This is part of the latest report by the SIVIO Institute Citizens’ Perceptions and Expectations Report (CPE) to determine the levels of citizen satisfaction with the performance of the Government of Zimbabwe. This extract covers employment status and sectors of employment.

Out of the 1 319 respondents, 861 respondents making up 65% of the sample were employed and the remaining 458 respondents, making up 35% of the sample, were unemployed.

We ran a cross-tabulation of Gender and Employment sector in SPSS and the data shows that among the 65% who are employed out of the overall sample, 71% of male respondents are employed and 60% of women are employed.

These percentages show a gendered dimension to the employment patterns in the country.

Across the sample, the Civil service had the most respondents: (16%) who identified it as the best match for their sector of employment, this was followed by Vending 13%), Other (12%), Retail (11%), Manufacturing and NGOs (9%).

On the bottom end, Stationary shop owner made up 1% of the sample, Tourism as well as Beads and weave
making constituted 2% of the sample, and Cross border trading and Canteen Shop Owner services were respectively identified by 4% of the sample.

When looked at in conjunction with the figures for Hairdresser (7%) and Flea market/bale shop (8%), the findings point to the high levels of informal sector employment in Zimbabwe.

Respondents were asked to indicate their monthly income bracket based on their earnings from the previous three months and the majority (29%) earned between US$0-$50, while 24% fell in the US$101-$200 and US$201-$500 salary bracket.

Of the overall sample, 15% reported earning between US$51-$100 while 7% earned between US$501-$1000. Only 2% of the sample earned more than $1000.

We also ran a cross-tabulation for Gender and Income and according to the results, women (17%) dominate in the lowest income bracket of US$0-$50 with fewer men (11%) earning in this bracket.

Men and women are at par (12%) in the US$101-$200 bracket and in the More than $1000 (1% for women and men respectively).

Men (13%) are slightly more than women (13%) in the US$201-$500 bracket. There is little difference between women (3%) and men (4%) in the US$501-$1000 income bracket.

When you’ve been pregnant for 9 months, you might be feeling a little impatient to start labour.

So, if there’s a food or dish that could speed up the process, you might be willing to try it.
Some restaurants claim to have the dish that will kickstart your labour, but there aren’t exactly any randomized clinical trials to back up their claims.

While some of them may lack empirical evidence, you may be curious to see what worked for other moms.

Here’s a list of some foods that are said to stimulate labour:

1. Pineapple

Nothing beats the sweetness of fresh pineapple. And if you like the taste and the nutritional benefits, go ahead and eat it. It’s loaded with vitamin C and other nutrients like manganese.

However, don’t expect it to necessarily speed up your labor, as there is a lack of evidence to back up these claims. (The theory is that bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapple, will soften your cervix and cause labor to begin, but this has not been proven.)

2. Dates

Dates, the fruit of the date palm tree, are extremely nutritious. They are high in fiber and antioxidants, among other things. According to research, they may also aid in the induction or hastening of labor.

Even though it was not a randomized clinical trial, a 2011 prospective study discovered that women who ate dates in the last four weeks before labor were less likely to need to be induced.
Other research, including a randomized clinical trial published in 2013 and another in 2017, suggests that eating dates may reduce the amount of time you spend in labor or the need for augmentation, such as the use of oxytocin to speed up delivery.

3. Spicy food

If you listen to a lot of people, a spicy fragrant Indian dish, Italian meal, or Thai food with a kick could be just the ticket to jump-starting labor.

According to a 2011 study, many people believe spicy food will cause labor. For every person who swears that a delicious curry dish sent them into labor, there is someone who swears that a dish laden with peppers did the trick.

However, according to 2014 research, you should consult with your doctor before ordering a super-spicy dish with this goal in mind.

4. Eggplant

Does eggplant appear to be an unlikely candidate for inducing labor? Not according to the dozens of pregnant women who ate eggplant Parmesan at Scalini’s in Georgia.

Again, no official research has been conducted, but there are numerous photos of adorable “eggplant babies.” Others claim that eggplant Parmesan dishes, in general, have caused them to go into labor.

5. Raspberry leaf tea

Sipping a cup of raspberry leaf tea sounds like a pleasant way to begin labor. However, there is insufficient evidence to suggest that raspberry leaf tea — or raspberry leaf tablets — are effective.

One animal study from 2009 even questioned whether using raspberry leaf during pregnancy is truly safe. More research is needed, so you should consult your doctor before brewing.

In a post on Instagram, the 33-year-old daughter of the former Health Minister David Parirenyatwa revealed that she took the unconventional route to have a baby after she discovered that she have fibroids and that she was getting older. She wrote:

I’ve wanted to be a mother since I was 21. My heart has been on some adventures between now and then. It has buried enough tears and I’m unable to trust easily, love freely or kiss any more frogs.
Like most of us, I’ve loved and lost and above all, I’ve learned. Last year, I convinced myself that while I wait for Mr Right, my body is not getting any younger, so why not start my journey to motherhood, even if it meant unconventionally?

… In all this, I discovered that I have fibroids, many of them. So this triggered me into action.

What if I keep waiting for the fairytale, what if I fail to have children, like ever? Fast forward past all the prayers, consultations and advice, I fell pregnant.

While she said she respects women who are in their 30s and believe they are still young, Ruvheneko said she had reached her “threshold”. She said:

Perhaps, but I worry that in our narratives as 21st century women, as feminists, as gender equity advocates, we are getting a little lost along the way.

Ruvheneko Leaves Husband Of Seven Years
It was reported in April 2021 that Ruvheneko was divorcing her husband of seven years, Tendai Basil Mafara.

Ruvheneko filed for divorce through the High Court stating that she has not been living with Mafara since 2016.

She told the court that she and her estranged husband have lost love for each other and there were no prospects of reconciliation.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Nelson Mutsonziwa as Acting Prosecutor General with immediate effect.

Mutsonziwa takes over from Kumbirai Hodzi who resigned recently due to ill health. Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda, said in a statement:

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde E.D. Mnangagwa has, in terms of Section 340 of the Constitution, appointed Mr Nelson Mutsonziwa as Acting Prosecutor-General following the resignation of former Prosecutor General, Mr Kumbirai Hodzi.

Reports suggest Hodzi was forced to resign by officials from the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC) and senior officials from the Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs for alleged incompetence and corruption.

Hodzi had been under pressure since December last year when a dossier, accusing him of corruption and incompetence, was submitted to the OPC and Justice ministry.

An actress says she wants justice and won’t stop until her alleged rapist, who is her boyfriend, is behind bars.

She told the publication that her spirit has been dented and she feels violated. The Durban Gen actress said she has opened a rape case against the actor from Muvhango.

She claims that he repeatedly raped her from October to November last year.

The woman said because they were dating, she was reluctant on open a case against him.

“I used to beg him to stop but he really wanted to do whatever he wanted to do till he was satisfied.

“I tried to show him that what he was doing was wrong but he just wouldn’t listen,” she said.

She told the publication that she decided to end the relationship and open a case because she could see that this was breaking her.

She said this has affected her badly because she’s always emotional and she’s drained. The actress said when she told him that she’s opening a rape case against him, he was arrogant and blocked her on all social media platforms.

“He really didn’t care and didn’t even want to apologize. I was hoping he’d reach out and see that he violated me but be didn’t,” she said.

What shocked her, she said, is that her boyfriend knew that she was going through some personal problems.

“He is the one who suggested I go for counselling but wouldn’t give me a chance to heal. I was hurt when she I realised that he actually didn’t care about my health,” she said.

“Some days when I came from my therapist, he’d force himself on me even when I had promised to have s.e.x with him when I was feeling better later.

“She said three weeks ago, he decided to unblock her and told her that if she opens a case, he’ll kill himself.

The woman told the publication that they met on Facebook early last year and only met face to face in September.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that a rape case has been opened and is under investigation.

A four-year-old girl died while 24 passengers were injured when a truck crashed into a Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) kombi along Khami Road in Bulawayo on Tuesday morning.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident saying the girl died on her way to the hospital while one of the injured passengers is in a critical condition. Said Insp Nyathi:

We have received a report of a fatal road accident this morning in Bulawayo along Khami road where at an intersection after the Nkulumane complex an open truck knocked a ZUPCO registered Kombi which rolled several times hitting another Kombi that was on the road leading to the injury of 24 passengers.

Another passenger is admitted at Mpilo and her condition is critical.

This case is under investigation and we are yet to get more details and probably revisit the scene to establish who exactly was to blame.

Teachers who went on strike when schools opened for the 2022 first term on 7 February will not take part in the 2022 National Household and Population Census between 7 April and 30 April 2022.

In a memorandum to all Provincial Education Directors (PEDs) dated 8 March 2022, the Chief Director HR at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, L Tagara, said the Government has resolved that teachers who failed to report for duty when schools reopened are ineligible to take part in the census. Part of the memo read:

Please be advised that the Zimbabwe National Statistical Agency (ZIMSTATS) requires the services of teachers to conduct the 2022 National Household and Population Census between 7 April and 30 April 2022.

Provincial Education Directors are hereby directed to facilitate the smooth release of staff to join take part in the national census.

Provincial Education Directors are required to take note of selection criteria for selecting teachers that take part in the national census.

Government has directed that only those teachers that have been consistently attending to their duties since the opening of schools in February 2022 shall be considered for census duties.

Those teachers that took part in the industrial action witnessed in the first two weeks of the term shall be ineligible for selection for census duties.

Kindly ensure that this instruction is widely communicated to all your structures in the province and that is adhered to during the selection.

An Econet Zimbabwe sales consultant, who was stationed at Joina City in Harare’s city centre, yesterday appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court on allegations of duping his employer of nearly $4 million after transacting in bulk rechargeable airtime.

Tatenda Simende (29) was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs Yeukai Dzuda, who remanded him in custody to today for bail hearing.

According to the State, Simende’s duties included receipting and dispatching bulk airtime to customers.

It is said that on June 20 last year, Simende processed a transaction of $1million, which was transferred by SpellBound Electronics as dealer payment to Econet.

The court heard that on July 8, 2021, Simende used the same proof of payment with the same reference number and attached it to his end of day report indicating that it was payment for another transaction under Econet cash account.

According to the State, Simende was supposed to attach a point of sale machine receipt or surrender cash for the transaction.

Allegations are that, using the fraudulent transaction, Simende bought physical recharge cards worth $1 million, defrauding his employer in the process.

On July 21 last year, Simende processed another receipt using proof of payment with a reference to another transaction.

He then allegedly processed the receipt for physical Econet recharge cards worth $2 999 715.

On July 30, again last year, Simende allegedly used the same proof of payment made on July 21 and generated a receipt, which he allegedly fraudulently used to buy physical recharge cards worth $2 999 715.

Semende’s alleged misconduct came to light on January 28 this year when Econet conducted a bank reconciliation exercise, leading to his arrest.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa left Harare on Tuesday afternoon for a three-day state visit to Kenya to attend the Zimbabwe–Kenya Joint Permanent Commission on Co-operation (JPCC).

The President and his delegation are expected to explore more opportunities for economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and Kenya.

The third session of the Zimbabwe-Kenya Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation opened in Nairobi on Monday, with discussions on the Memoranda of Agreements signed at the last JPCC.
In his opening statement at the third session of the Zimbabwe– Kenya JPCC, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, James Manzou revealed that there are draft agreements and MoUs at different stages of negotiations. He said:

The Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA), the avoidance of double taxation agreement, and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in tourism and wildlife conservation.

It is imperative for our two countries to quickly negotiate and conclude these legal instruments as they are pivotal to closer economic co-operation between our two countries.

In the social and cultural cluster, the Memorandum of Understanding on the promotion of co-operative development and the MoU on the promotion of women empowerment and community development stand out among those that need to be fast-tracked because of our important contribution to the welfare of communities in both countries.

Of course, this is not to forget the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of sport and recreation.

In the field of soccer, I note that both Kenya and Zimbabwe recently suffered a similar fate after FIFA imposed bans on our national soccer organizations.

We urgently need to exchange views and strategies on how to resolve the issues involved.

The second session of the Zimbabwe–Kenya JPCC was convened in Harare 25 years ago (in January 1997).

And I slithered out of the mattress to attempt to accumulate my garments that had been everywhere in the flooring, and I had blood coming down my leg as a result of the sodomised me.
The call wasn’t the only contact P.J. had with Crosby – who she had been friends with for years – in the immediate aftermath because she also shared a card he sent her the day after the alleged incident. Minnie Dlamini has been strutting her stuff on the runways and roads of Paris this week. She made her international runway debut for South African designer Jessica’s Molebatsi’s show last Friday, where she was the show stopper for Molebatsi’s new French-Xhosa range “The Noluthando Range”.
She was so hung up about the meeting that she immediately WhatsApp’d her family, saying she couldn’t breathe.

Once she gained control of her nerves, she posted a picture of Williams and herself on Instagram. She wrote: “I literally can’t breathe. That is the message I sent to my family group as soon as I saw her. I tried really hard to tell her how much she and her sister mean to me.

My dad made me and my late brother play tennis because of them, and getting my provincial colours for tennis was one of my proudest moments, as I remember being one of the only black kids on the court growing up“.

Further in the post, Dlamini thanked Williams for influencing her childhood and representing people of colour in tennis, which, in turn, made her the person she is today.

Slik Talk took aim at Lasizwe and Big Zulu for “clout chasing” on the death of Riky Rick.

“There are people that are crying on their Instagram Live. These people have no shame. Somebody just lost their life and you have the time to cry on your Instagram Live.

“Come on bro, stop being an undercover clout-chaser. Then what’s worse is n*****s are dropping songs a day later” Slik Talk said in his YouTube video.

Responding to Slik Talk, Big Zulu said that he was not going to pay Slik Talk to slap him just like Cassper Nyovest did when he beat him at the boxing match. He said he was going to slap Slik Talk the next time they meet.

“Ngeke ngikubhadale ngisho iCent ukuth ngikuphonse impama sphukuphuku kim uzoyithola mahala nje lasohlangana khona nxe,” Big Zulu wrote on his Twitter.

Responding to Big Zulu’s tweet, Slik Talk clearly stated that he was not scared of Big Zulu and went on to diss Big Zulu’s dreads saying that he has a ‘blanket’ on his head.

“So I woke up this morning to find am being threatened by Big Zulu. Talking about when he sees me he gonna slap him. Get the f** outta here Big Zulu nobody is scared of you and those big dreads, those worn-out dreads my n*gga, nobody is scared of that blanket on your head my n*gga.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Slik Talk went on to claim that the last time he saw Big Zulu, he smelled like cow pee.

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt will join Gal Gadot in the upcoming international spy thriller from Netflix, Heart of Stone. The Indian-born British actress has won several accolades since her debut in 2012, including four Filmware Awards. Her dramatic role in Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab won her both the Screen Award and IIFA Award For Best Actress.

Film Updates reported via Twitter that Bhatt will be making her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone, which also stars Jamie Dornan alongside Gadot. Netflix won the competitive auction for the worldwide rights of Skydance’s spy thriller back in January 2021, and has Tom Harper (The Aeronauts) directing the project written by Greg Rucka (The Old Guard) and Allison Shroeder (Hidden Figures).
The film is developed by the Skydance Media production company which is responsible for movies like “Mission: Impossible: Fallout”, “The Old Guard” and “Top Gun: Maverick” among others.

So far all that has been divulged is that “Heart of Stone” will mark the beginning of a new female-centric espionage franchise that runs along the lines of “Mission Impossible”, and Bhatt’s role in the film is unknown.
