South African radio personality, Dineo Ranaka was given a touching send-forth on her last day on Metro FM.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the radio star bids farewell to the radio station after 4 years of being on air.

This Friday is her last day on the air in Metro, and she was surprised with balloons and flowers which go her eyes teary.

“We thank you @dineoranaka for your years of service and all your hard work. All the best on your future endeavours,” the station captioned the video.

Dineo Ranaka’s departure from Metro FM doesn’t make her idle as she’s moved to Kaya FM and she promises to drop her second single in July; she will also focus on growing her new podcast.

For those not in the know, Samthing Soweto was part of the original formation of hit acapella group of the late 2000s into the 2010s The Soil. But due to internal drama, Samthing Soweto left the group just as they were about to become the legendary group they have since become.

He then attempted to create his own band called The Fridge, which arguably did not make any mark in the music industry. Then Samthing Soweto struck gold as an amapiano vocalist and his path to super stardom was paved. During the height of his popularity as this innovator within amapiano, Samthing Soweto was honest about needing to deal with his depressive states, which at the time seemed to be attached to poverty and the slump he faced following leaving The Soil. But as we have all come to learn, depression or depressive states are not linked to finances.

Given that Samthing Soweto had teased a new album in February 2022, by March 2022, he was already teasing new music. He also revealed during this time that he does still face depressive states which leave him feeling despondent. Internationally acclaimed artist DJ Black Coffee has made South Africans proud. This after it was revealed that he had produced and written three songs on rapper Drake‘s new album, Honestly, Nevermind.

It was released on Friday, 17 June, and he produced Overdrive, Currents and Texts Go Green, which he co-produced with his son, Esona Tyolo.

He posted a photo of Esona on social media, with the caption: “So proud of this guy.”

Congolese-born, South African-based musician Tresor also worked on the album. And he took to Twitter to share the news.

“Drake Honestly, Nevermind album out now. Honoured to finally share that I’ve collaborated with Drake on new music for his latest album. Worked on six songs together, and it’s also a great honour to contribute vocals on three songs,” he wrote.

Black Coffee has also been listed on the album cover as one of the executive producers, alongside Noah 40 Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, and Noel Cadastre.

The news left social media users proud of him.

Rapper Cassper Nyovest wrote: “Drake just dropped a full dance album and Black Coffee production is very heavy on that. What a time.”

– 4 eggs, at room temperature, separated

– 125ml (1/2 cup) golden syrup, plus extra, to serve

– 125g butter, melted, cooled

– 75g (1/2 cup) self-raising flour

– 50g (1/3 cup) custard powder

– 500ml (2 cups) milk, warmed

5 Method / Steps

Step 1

Preheat oven to 160C/140C fan-forced. Place a large square of foil on a clean work surface. Top with a square of baking paper. Release the base from a 20cm (base size) springform pan. Invert the base then line the base with the foil and then the baking paper. Secure the base back in the pan, allowing the foil and baking paper to overhang the edge. Grease the side of the pan.

Step 2

Place the egg yolks and golden syrup in a large bowl. Use electric beaters to beat for 2-3 minutes or until pale and thickened slightly. Gradually add the butter, beating constantly, until well combined. Sift the flour and custard powder over the egg mixture. Use a wire whisk to fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture until just combined. Stir in the milk.

Step 3

Use clean beaters to beat the egg whites in a bowl until firm peaks form. Use a whisk to fold the egg white mixture into the flour mixture until just combined (it’s okay if there are still a few lumps of egg white). Gently pour into the prepared pan.

Step 4

Bake for 1 hour or until the cake is just set (it will wobble very slightly). Set aside in the pan for 2-3 hours or until cooled completely.

Step 5

Run a knife around the edge of the cake to loosen, then unclip and remove the side of the pan. Cut into wedges. Drizzle over extra golden syrup to serve.

Rafael Nadal says he intends to play Wimbledon after having treatment for his chronic foot problem.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion had said he would not keep playing if he continued to need anaesthetic injections in his left foot.

However, the Spaniard had treatment last week to reduce nerve pain and is planning to play at Wimbledon, which begins on 27 June.

“The last week of training tells me there is a chance,” Nadal, 36, said.

“My intention is to play at Wimbledon.”

He said he would travel to London on Monday and play in the exhibition event at Hurlingham, which begins on Tuesday.

The two-time Wimbledon champion has been practising on the grass courts in Mallorca to test his fitness.

“I’m happy, I haven’t been limping for a week,” Nadal said.

“I have noticed changes with the treatment – I still have strange sensations, sometimes I can’t feel my foot, but the pain that did not allow me to support my weight on my foot has subsided.”

Nadal has a rare degenerative condition called Muller-Weiss syndrome, which affects the bones in the feet, and last year feared his career was over because of the condition.

However, he started the year in stunning fashion, winning the Australian Open to secure a men’s record 21st Grand Slam title.

He then went on to win a record-extending 14th French Open title last month but needed multiple injections in his foot throughout the tournament.

Nadal underwent radiofrequency ablation treatment – a procedure which uses heat on the nerve to quell long-term pain – after returning from Paris last week.

He missed last year’s Wimbledon to give his body time to rest after his loss in the French Open semi-finals.

He reached the last four on his last appearance at Wimbledon in 2019, with the 2020 tournament cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

13 Ingredients

* 30ml (1 1/2) tbsp vegetable oil

* 600g diced lamb fillet, trimmed

* 1 onion, thinly sliced

* 1 tbsp massaman curry paste (or 2 tbsp if you like it hot)

* 2 kaffir lime leaves

* 250ml (1 cup) Massel beef stock

* 150ml coconut cream

* 2 tsp fish sauce

* 1 carrot, peeled, chopped

* 2 Pontiac potatoes or Desiree potatoes, peeled, cut into chunks

* 1 cup fresh peas or frozen peas

* 2 tbsp chopped coriander

* Steamed jasmine rice, to serve

2 Method / Steps

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over high heat and brown the meat in batches, then set aside. Heat the remaining oil in a pan, add the onion and cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until softened. Add curry paste and lime leaves, and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in the stock, coconut cream, fish sauce, potato and carrot. Add 1 cup of water. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Add the meat and cook, uncovered, for a further 10 minutes. Stir in the peas and half the coriander and set aside for 2 minutes. Serve with jasmine rice and garnish with the remaining coriander.

The video which was shared on her Insta-stories yesterday, Thursday 16, June appears to be her baby.

Natasha announced that she is pregnant with a photoshoot on 8 March.

Just one month before she was believed to have given birth towards the end of April.

The actress announced that she returned to the Blood & Water set in May which is about two weeks after she was believed to have given birth.

She has now shared two adorable videos which appear to be off her baby.

The chairperson of Royal AM Football Club, Andile Mpisane is currently trending after some social media FBI decided to find out how much one of his outfits he was wearing costs.

A picture that was shared by blogger Musa Khawula on his Twitter page has Andile wearing a Louis Vuitton monogram embossed utility jacket that costs R150 000.

He was also wearing a Prada white hat that costs R10 400, a necklace R10 400 and his LV shoes costs R18 000.

Blood & Water actress Natasha Thahane caused a stir on social media this week when she shared videos of an unknown baby on her Instagram Story which led to some tweeps believing the baby could be hers and soccer player Thembinkosi Lorch.

Her fans have been dying to see pictures of her baby since she announced she gave birth earlier in May and shared her baby bump pictures on 8 March.

Tebatso Mashishi, actor on Muvhango has been arrested by the police after his ex-girlfriend and Durban Gen actress Nanamhla Dalisile opened a case of theft against him.

Mashishi, who plays Kgosi in the SABC 2 flagship show, was accused by the actress of stealing her laptop and smart cellphone from her Randburg apartment on Wednesday last week.

Mashishi and Dalisile were lovers, but the trail-blazing thespian kicked him to the kerb this year.

Speaking to the publication, Dalisile alleged that Mashishi came to her apartment in Randburg to fetch the clothes she mistakenly packed into her suitcase before she vacated the apartment, they shared in Parktown, north of Joburg.

“When I was unpacking my clothes from the suitcase, I realized that I had packed his clothes in it by mistake. I called him and told him that I had taken his clothes by mistake and that he should come and take them. He told me that he would come and take them because he too has been looking for them for a while,” she said.

Dalisile said Mashishi phoned her on Wednesday and asked her if he could come and collect his clothes.

“I told him that I’m no longer staying in Tembisa but in my new apartment in Randburg and I sent him the location to come,” she said.

Dalisile said she was rushing out to a gym when Mashishi arrived at her house.

“I told him to check the clothes in the wardrobe and just close the door before he could leave as I was rushing out to the gym. He agreed and I left him in there,” she said.

Dalisile alleged that when she returned to her pad, she discovered much to her shock, that her cellphone and laptop were missing.

She said when she phoned him to enquire about the missing equipment, he repeatedly dropped her calls before blocking her.

“On Friday, I went to Douglasdale Police Station where I opened a case of theft against him. The case was later transferred to Fairland Police Station for investigation because my area falls under its jurisdiction. I know them because he needed them. He has a lot of money; he can afford them. He took them because he just wants to punish me for dumping him,” she said.

Gauteng Provincial Police Spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed that Mashishi was arrested for theft and will appear in court soon.

Somgaga aka Somizi sought advice from late legendary rapper HHP’s wife Lerato Sengadi on the latest episode of his reality series which aired on Wednesday 15 June.

Somizi Mhlongo spoke to his friend Lerato Sengadi, who was the wife of HHP before he passed away on 24 October 2018. The similarity between the pair is that Lerato was also married customarily but Somizi and Mohale were a same-sex marriage so some things may be different.

“Lerato was married customarily, I was also married customarily, but the benefits and results are not the same. For me I’m meeting up to ask her… actually, we thought we live in a democratic whatever – no we’re not, we don’t,” he explained.

“She seems to have more rights than I would have because same-sex marriages, so it is intriguing,” he continued.

Lerato explained that she and HHP did whatever they needed to do traditionally to form their union but they did not sign.

“For me it was the other way around where we did the full, you know the things that check off in the law to what makes a marriage customarily recognized, kind of thing, we did. Even if it was the bare minimum we did what we needed to get done,” she said.

“But we didn’t go sign because of the people that we are firstly, because we always favour African way of life before everything else. When Jabu passed away they just said I don’t exist. Like he was never married, the process wasn’t finished,” she continued.

Lerato revealed that HHP’s family did come and pay lobola but his family did not recognize her as the wife after his death.

“I said what do you mean you don’t recognise me as his wife. Me and Jabu had been together for 10 years. I was your daughter-in-law up until, what? Like the 24th of October? Why didn’t you say these things when he was alive? Why did you wait for me to get to my weakest moment to try and break me further?”

Somizi weighed in with his own experiences say that Mohale has requested half his estate in the divorce.

“I’ve been on this journey with Lerato through out and it hasn’t been easy. It’s been tough. Emotionally, mentally, financially draining to see that she finally won is a victory for a lot of people… because there are so many people who are going through the same thing that she went through,” he said.

“In my situation my ex husband has sent a letter asking for half of everything, right? So, I don’t know if you know that I didn’t sign anything but they are standpoints that we got married customarily. We didn’t do the lobola thing, at all,” he continued.

Somizi explained that they got there and just had a party. He went on to say that they only went to Mohale’s side they did not come to his side of the family. The Idols SA judge went on to say that the situation disadvantages Mohale, which he should be happy about but it doesn’t sit right with him.
