Heading online she shared a clip of herself performing to a London crowd who knew all of the lyrics to one of her songs.

She did so well in the clip that one of her followers briefly mistook her for international pop star Beyoncé Knowles.

25-year-old Makhadzi is on a roll both here in South Africa and abroad.

The Ghanana hitmaker can do no wrong when it comes to her performances and this is something she knows very well.

Heading to Twitter earlier this week, Makhadzi shared a video of herself performing in London.

In the caption, she gushed over how her London fans were able to sing along with her – a sign that she has fans all over the world.

Sbahle Mpisane has taken to her social media to break down as she opens up about her failed suicide attempts. The star recently open up about her suicide attempts while on her road to recovery following a near-fatal 2018 car accident.

Taking to Instagram, Sbahle shared videos stating she doesn’t want to be a person who has to be questioning her survival. She said she has made an oath that she won’t commit suicide but it’s a whole thing that she is always crying due to the things been said to her.

Sbahle said she just want to be happy and even after attempting to commit suicide and she woke up days after, she still got so many negative words. She made reference to a troll who advised told her to amputate her leg.

Sbahle reacted, saying that people’s comments about how she should go about her healing journey were a huge contribution to her depression.

Zimbabwe’s Foreign Minister Frederick Shava says his country is working on logistics to take back citizens whose special permits will be expiring end of this year. This follows the South African government’s decision to discontinue the Zimbabwe Exemption Permits (ZEP). The special permits will expire at the end of this year and thousands of Zimbabweans without valid visas are expected to go back to their native country.

Minister Shava and SA International Relations Minister Naledi Pandor held a mid-term review Bi-national Commission meeting in Pretoria on Wednesday. Shava says they are more than ready to welcome home Zimbabweans who can’t regularise their stay in South Africa. He adds that this has been a source of anxiety for some Zimbabweans who benefited from the Zimbabwean Special Permit.

“This has been on the cards for some time since the South African government pronounced the end of ZEP permits. Zimbabweans are also aware of a time limit. Those who fail to meet the requirements of South Africa are welcome back home. We will be working on the modalities and the logistics of receiving them when they come.”

Zimbabwean foreign affairs and international trade Minister further explains, “The ZEP will expire at the end of this year. Its expiry is naturally causing much anxiety to the holders of this permit. Our governments must work closely in the implementation of this decision. We are ready to receive our nationals back home. At the same time I’d like to reiterate our appeal to Zimbabweans in SA to observe and respect the laws of SA.”

Minister Pandor says South Africa is quite happy that Harare has urged those who are eligible to apply.

Mzansi fitness bunny, Sbahle Mpisane topped the trends list after she went on an emotional Instagram Live. She was addressing an Instagram DM she received from a woman who told her to cut off her foot so she could enjoy the perks of wearing heels and being free.

This DM did not sit well with Sbahle who read it while getting her tattoo. She said she had to remove herself from Instagram at the time but she kept on thinking about it and was left emotionally.

“I came across a DM from a girl suggesting that I should amputate my foot so I can wear heels and run and be flexible like her. So when I read it, I was like ‘ugh whatever’ and after reading her message I decided to just get off Instagram and just like not focus and just continue doing my tattoo.

“But I kept thinking about it and it kept passing. And then I start crying, I cried out loud in the studio it was big and there were people there as well. They were all wondering if my tattoo was sore. I could not explain to them why I was crying.

“I was so heartbroken at how a person could just tell me I should just cut off my foot. Like why would I want to cut off my foot?”

She then explains that her mother told the doctor to not amputate her foot because after the accident it was basically sticking out. She said if Sbahle was to wake up without her foot, she would not be happy, and she probably would not be alive today.

“The doctor said I was like a toasted slice of bread that was crumbled up and he had to put all of that together,” said Sbahle.

“I’ve said so many times ukuthi I broke 80% of my bones. People have so much to say to me and I always look at them and say what I went through, 95% of people would not survive that. My face is perfectly fine, my body is fine, I can still walk, I can touch the ground with both my feet. So to have this girl tell me to o and cut off my foot, the foot we spent so much money putting together, a foot my doctors had to try put together. For her to tell me to cut it off so I can wear heels, what are heels guys?”

Sbahle then started getting very angry at the comments on her Instagram live where people told her that the girl should just say sorry and move on. She then spoke about how she had attempted to commit suicide in the past so such comments make her feel some type of way. “I have [attempted] to commit suicide twice because of you people’s f***n words.”

Sbahle then said she wishes she would not have to be alive to hear the hurtful words from trolls.

Fitness bunnies’ rants continued with her swearing at the trolls who commented on her live, where one said she has money. These trolls were told by Sbahle to unfollow her because she does not understand why people who do not like her, follow her.

Sbahle then made reference to Riky Rick whose life was perfect but ended up committing suicide.

South African actress Sannah Mchunu and her family are going through a tough time. The Gomora actress took to Facebook on Wednesday, 10 August, asking for prayers as her sister was not well after suffering a stroke.

“I decided to go and get some fresh air because I’m not feeling well spiritually. Therefore, I’m asking for your prayers,” she said.

In a follow-up post, she added: “My friends, it’s painful when one of your family members is sick.”

According to sources, Sannah had not been herself for a while.

“She is normally a bubbly person but this week, she’s sad. She’s been crying and it is affecting her work,” said a source.

A teenager (19) considered to be mentally unstable allegedly stabbed his mother to death before he died in police custody.

In its frequent updates, the ZRP on Thursday morning announced that Regis Ruza (19) allegedly attacked his mother, Dorcas Chigudhu (55) to death with a kitchen knife.

The police said the suspect was taken to Bindura Hospital where he was treated and discharged into police custody before he died.

“The ZRP is investigating a murder case which occurred at Trojan Mine, Bindura where Regis Ruza (19) allegedly attacked his mother, Dorcas Chigudhu (55) and fatally stabbed her once on the thigh with a kitchen knife before locking himself in a toilet on 10/08/22,” the police said.

“The suspect, who seemed mentally disturbed, was taken to Bindura Hospital where he was treated and discharged into Police custody.

“On the same date at around 2000 hours the suspect got unconscious and was referred back to Bindura hospital where he was pronounced dead on admission. The body has since been taken to Bindura Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.”

In another case, the ZRP reiterated that motorists should stop, assist the injured, if necessary, and report all road traffic accidents to the Police within 24 hours.

The police said on Wednesday, ZRP Beitbridge recorded a fatal hit and run road traffic accident where “an unknown male adult was hit by an unidentified motorist, who was driving a Toyota Hiace vehicle at the 371km peg along Bulawayo Beitbridge Road. The victim died on the spot, and the motorist did not stop after the accident.”

The first executive mayor for Mutare, Alderman Lawrence Dambudzo Mudehwe who served the city for more than 13 years has died.

Before being elected as an executive mayor from 1995 to 2003, Mudehwe served as a mayor on ceremonial basis from 1990 to 1995.

His death on Wednesday was confirmed by Zanu PF Mutare District Coordinating Committee chairman, Binali Yard.

“It is with sadness that we announce the passing on of Alderman Mudehwe. Alderman Mudehwe is well-known for his dedication to duty and humility.

“He served Mutare with distinction and will be remembered by many for the role he played in developing the city as a city father,” said Yard.

Pro-democracy campaigner Lynnette Mudehwe is quoted in another report by NewsDay confirming hat her grandfather passed away at West End Hospital in Harare on Wednesday.

“He had undergone a surgery due to stomach complications. Sadly he passed on a few days after the operation,” Lynnette told the paper.

“There were arrangements to take the body to Mutare today (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday), but the funeral arrangements are not really certain for now because of some consultations that Zanu-PF is making about his contributions as a party member and Alderman for Mutare for quite some time,” Lynnette added.

Mutare City Council’s Human Resources Manager, Mr Aaron Chemvura said: “The Pungwe Water Pipeline is the highlight of his stewardship. That momentous achievement is brought into sharp focus if you compare it with successive councils that struggled to do a mere Christmas Pass to Dangamvura Water Pipeline.”

Mourners are gathered at his New Dangare home in Sakubva, Mutare and Mabelreign in Harare. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Harare siblings Shepherd and Allen Zharare from Glen Norah are in hot soup after they allegedly teamed up to assault and kidnap police officers after committing a traffic offence.

They briefly appeared before Harare magistrate, Yeukai Dzuda, Thursday charged with assault, resisting law officers and kidnapping.

The Zharare siblings will be back in court Friday for bail application.

According to prosecutors, the two work as commuter omnibus driver and conductor respectively.

On the 9th of August, along Mbuya Nehanda and Charter Road in Harare, Shepherd was driving a Toyota Hiace and allegedly resisted arrest after he stopped at an undesignated place to pick up passengers.

The court heard Allen and two others, who are still at large, were touting for passengers.

Constables Memory Manyande and Pindire Cairo, who were on duty, then pronounced the arrest of the four.

It is alleged that they entered the commuter omnibus and instructed the driver to drive to Harare Central Police Station .

He then drove off at high speed along Simon Mazorodze and out of town to Southerton.

Dozens died in anti-government protests in Sierra Leone, police and other sources said on Thursday, sharply raising the death toll from the previous day’s clashes as shocked citizens stayed mostly behind closed doors in the capital Freetown.

Six police officers and at least 21 civilians were killed, the sources said, as hundreds took to the streets in frustration at economic hardship and a perceived failure by the government to cushion the impact of rising prices.

The unrest is highly unusual for Sierra Leone, especially in the West African country’s capital Freetown. A few people have been killed in isolated protests in other cities in recent years. One video verified by Reuters from Freetown showed a police officer firing a gun into a crowd.

Sulaiman Turay, a 19-year-old living in east Freetown, marched briefly before police started firing teargas and said he later he saw demonstrators getting shot at from his porch.

“I think people are shocked. It’s not the country we know. Sierra Leone is a peaceful place,” he said.
President Julius Maada Bio said the circumstances surrounding Wednesday’s events would be “fully investigated”.

Other verified images from Freetown showed clouds of smoke and teargas as large crowds threw rocks and burned tyres and armed officers patrolled the streets. The protests were concentrated in the opposition’s northern heartland and the capital.

Long held in check, citizens’ frustrations have been exacerbated by rising prices for basic goods in a country where, according to the World Bank, more than half the population of around 8 million live below the poverty line.
Wednesday’s death toll included two police officers killed in Freetown, three in the northern town of Kamakwie and one in the northern city of Makeni, police inspector general William Fayia Sellu told Reuters.

At least 13 civilians were shot dead in Freetown, said staff at the city’s main mortuary. Hospital sources said that four civilians were killed in Kamakwie and another four in Makeni. An eerie calm had returned to Freetown on Thursday, residents said, as stores were closed and people stayed in out of fear of unrest.

The internet was cut for two hours on Wednesday and again overnight, according to internet observatory NetBlocks. Police said a curfew would remain in effect from 7pm to 7am local time from Thursday after the government imposed a 3 p.m. curfew on Wednesday in a bid to stem the violence

Former Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived in Thailand Thursday evening following his departure from Singapore.

He left Singapore on Thursday after nearly a month’s stay in Singapore. The former president was issued a 14-day visit pass when he arrived at the Changi Airport in Singapore from the Maldives last month and he was allowed to stay there for two weeks.

Meanwhile, Thailand has denied reports that the former Sri Lankan President has sought asylum in the country. The Thailand Foreign Ministry said it received a request from Rajapaksa to visit the country with no intention of seeking political asylum.

“Thailand saw no problem with Rajapaksa entering on a diplomatic passport, which would allow him to stay 90 days,” Daily Mirror reported, quoting Thailand Ministry spokesperson Tanee Sangrat as saying.
Thailand would be the second Southeast Asian country after the Maldives that Rajapaksa is seeking temporary shelter in after fleeing his island nation last month amid mass protests.

Sri Lankan Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced the official resignation of Rajapaksa on July 15.

After the resignation of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Ranil Wickremesinghe was sworn in as President of Sri Lanka on July 21 in Parliament.
Wickremesinghe was earlier appointed as interim president of Sri Lanka as Rajapaksa fled abroad after his palace was stormed by angry protesters amid the unprecedented economic crisis.

Sri Lanka continues to face a severe shortage of fuel and other essential supplies and is in the throes of its worst-ever economic crisis with soaring inflation. The oil supply shortage has forced schools and government offices to close until further notice. The people of the island nation are expecting the IMF to give a bailout package. Sri Lanka has been facing its worst economic crisis since its independence.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has dismissed reports that he was admitted at a private hospital in Harare.

A reported originated on social media that VP Chiwenga was on Thursday admitted to the Trauma Centre in Borrowdale for a long planned but minor procedure.

But in a video footage released on Friday morning by his office, the Vice President said as a Health Minister, he has every reason to visit the country’s health institutions for one reason or another.
