Another ZANU PF Central Committee member dies to COVID-19. ZANU PF Central Committee member Madeyi Maswi has succumbed to COVID-19. She was 54. Maswi’s death was confirmed by family spokesperson Takunda Maswi who is also her son.

Takunda said her mother died on Thursday at St Anne’s hospital in Harare after she tested positive for the coronavirus and was hospitalised for more than a week.

Maswi is survived by her husband Christopher and three children; Tanyaradzwa (26), Takunda (24) and Tinotenda (20).

Mashonaland Central ZANU PF chairperson Kazembe Kazembe, who is also the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage described the late Maswi as a hardworking cadre. He said:

We have lost a very hard working person, she represented the party at Constitution Parliamentary Select Committee (COPAC) and Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) among other important bodies. At one point she was sent to China to the China Communist Party in an exchange program.

Highlanders goalkeeper loses 72-inch TV set to robbers. Ariel Sibanda said the three men broke a padlock at the gate and gained entry into the house through a window after cutting the burglar bars.

Three armed robbers broke into Highlanders captain and goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda’s home in the wee hours of Friday and got away with a 72-inch television set.

The Warriors goalkeeper said he was woken up by his sister’s loud screams when the robbers had entered her bedroom. Said Sibanda:

There were three guys, and according to my sister, one of the intruders was standing by her bedroom door holding a torch and something that looked like a gun.

She screamed calling my name and when I woke up, I discovered that they had unscrewed the television set from the wall mounting in the lounge.

They then demanded money and when we told them that we didn’t have any, they just walked out. I suspect that these people saw a truck delivering a lounge suite and a television stand on Thursday afternoon and assumed we had money.

… Everyone is shaken but we were not hurt. We thank God that they didn’t do anything to us.

Media Personality Pearl Modiadie has taken to her social media to reveal that she has successfully removed her wisdom teeth.

The star made this known through her Instagram sharing how scared she was before she was able to get the surgery done.

Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people get in their late teens or early twenties.

Pearl mentioned that she is so happy to have removed all her wisdom teeth and she had the fear of being under general anesthesia but she’s proud to have done it and came out successfully.

The TV presenter scooped pictures from different moments taken at the hospital as her family and friends came to support her.

Pear said: “In a celebratory mood today because I finally removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth . I recently developed a fear of being under general anesthesia , so I’m proud to have done it anyway… with lots of prayer and tears just before surgery.”

Buffalo Souljah denounces Stunner’s behaviour over the I-Octane Soul Jah Love issue. There might have been a miscommunication between rapper Stunner and Jamaican artiste I-Octane.

Knives went out on Stunner yesterday after he posted a post that triggered I-Octane to delete his condolences post.  I-Octane posted his condolences message which was written he gave Souljah Love a chance on stage during his visit back in the day.

This did not go well as Stunner took to respond to Octane in a harsh way. Later on the Jamaican dancehall chanter had to take down his post after his post got flooded by negative comments from Zimbos.

Biker in a head-on collision with a car and dies on the spot. Mashonaland Central Police Acting Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the sad incident that happened last week Friday.

A 33-year-old Concession man who was riding a motorcycle died on the spot after a head-on collision with a car being driven by a Chinhoyi white man along Mazowe-Nyabira road.

“The accident happened at around 1800hrs, at the 24km peg along the Mazowe-Nyabira road and the car was being driven by Luke Rutter (29) of Chinhoyi.

The blue unregistered motorcycle was being ridden by Moses Sande (33) of Hillgrew farm, Concession,” he said. Rutter was travelling towards Mazowe with no passengers aboard while Sande was riding solo in the opposite direction.

On approaching the 24km peg, the motorcycle encroached onto Rutter‘s lane resulting in a head-on collision. The car was not seriously damaged while the motorcycle was extensively damaged.

Sande died on the spot as he had sustained brutal body injuries. The police are urging all drivers to pay maximum attention while driving on the road to avoid accidents.

Chaos as prophet declares big bulging tummy, not pregnancy. The truth was much worse when the woman, Anesu Tswangira (20), who mistook the bulge for pregnancy, was prophesied on by Madzibaba Emmanuel Mutumwa of the Johanne Masowe weChishanu sect, who revealed that the swelling of her belly was caused by black magic.

A woman from Kensington plots on the outskirts of Bulawayo, who thought she was pregnant because of her stomach which started swelling five months ago, was shocked when it was revealed to her by a prophet that her enormous bump was a result of witchcraft.

Madzibaba Mutumwa sensationally revealed that one of her husband, Mthokozisi Tshabalala’s female relatives who didn’t want her to become intimate with her husband, stole her two panties and allegedly “fixed” them with juju. He revealed this on Saturday during a donation of mealie-meal to villagers, mostly the elderly, in Sihlengeni under Chief Sigola’s area, Matabeleland South province.

Tswangira was among the people who thronged Madzibaba Mutumwa’s new shrine in Sihlengeni where he donated about 100 bags of mealie-meal. Things came to a halt when Madzibaba Mutumwa, who apparently sensed that something was wrong with Tswangira’s “pregnancy“, went into a trance-like state and summoned her to the front and prophesied over her.

“What you’re carrying is not a baby, but you are suffering from a mysterious condition that led to uncontrollable swelling of your stomach which makes you think you are pregnant. You were cursed by one of your husband’s female relatives who didn’t want you to be intimate with him (husband).

It was after she stole your two panties which she fixed with juju. She stole the panties when she visited you and she hid them under a big rock behind your house,” revealed Madzibaba Mutumwa before he ordered four women to accompany Tswangira to her house to fetch the underwear so that he can burn them.

A deathly silence engulfed the shrine a few minutes later when the women later brought the cursed underwear which the prophet ordered to be burnt as a way of removing the curse. In an interview with B-Metro, a terrified and emotionally disturbed Tswangira said when the “pregnancy” first appeared she was excited and hoped to give birth to a baby within nine months.

“When I noticed I was gaining weight around August last year I thought I was pregnant since I had stopped menstruating. I was also shocked when I recently visited the hospital for prenatal care and nurses told me that I was not pregnant. I was confused until today when Madzibaba Mutumwa told me that I was bewitched. It’s true that the condition started the same month my two panties went missing and the suspect is one of my husband’s relatives,” explained a teary Tswangira.

She insisted that before “healing” by Madzibaba Mutumwa hers was a “pregnancy” that kept bulging and was very uncomfortable, adding that the stomach left people offering her seats on public transport and asking about her due date.

Phupho says that Ayanda and Sfiso dated for a while before Ayanda wanted to commit to a life of Christianity. She then decided to end things with Sfiso, and during their breakup, he met Nonku. Their relationship resulted in a baby girl, but few months down the line, Sfiso decided to marry Ayanda.

A tweep insinuated that the two ladies do not get along because they were both “dribbled” by the gospel star, however, Phupho poured cold water to those assumptions.

Watch the moment soul Jah Love’s body arrived at his house in Msasa Park. Tributes have been pouring in for Zimbabwean dancehall artist Soul Jah Love who has reportedly died at the age of 31. Zimbabwe’s dancehall sensation, Soul Jah Love has died. Soul Jah Love, whose real name is Soul Musaka, reportedly passed away this past Tuesday in hospital. The exact cause of death has not been made public but Zimbabwean news outlets report that the young artist was diabetic.

Tributes have been pouring in from Zimbabweans and fans of his music from around the world. Friends of the musician then took him to the hospital but by then, it was too late. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Waterfalls, Zimbabwe.

Doctors who attended to the singer reported that he had no pulse when he arrived and his sugar levels were elevated, this according to iHarare News.  The talented singer was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of seven and later, in his adult life, struggled with drug addiction.

Soul Jah Love was born in Harare in 1989. He lost both parents in his childhood—his mother as a toddler and his father in his teens. He gained prominence in 2012 with his hit songs “Ndini Uya Uya” and “Gum-kum”.

Soul Jah Love was subsequently credited for bringing back Zimbabwean dancehall into mainstream music following his breakthrough onto the music scene. His death coincidentally comes a year exactly after he survived a car accident.

Masvingo Province get 22K Vaccines. The consignment was received by Provincial medical director Dr Amadeos Shamu who said everything was in place to start the vaccination of frontline health workers. Masvingo Province has received 22 000 jabs of the COVID-19 vaccines which the country recently procured from Chinese firm Sinopharm.

He said the vaccines will be stored at the provincial stores at the Ministry of Health and Child Care provincial headquarters before distribution to the province’s seven districts. Dr Shamu said:

Every district gave us a rough estimate of the number of frontline health workers that they have and we are going to use those figures to distribute the 22 000 doses that we received today.

From tomorrow (Saturday), the vaccines will start being shipped to districts and we hope that by Sunday every district will have received their share ahead of the start of vaccination of frontline health workers on Monday.

However the impending vaccination of frontline health workers will be done on a voluntary basis. No one will be forced. The delivery of the vaccines in Masvingo follows the inaugural vaccination of health caregivers at Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital in Harare on Thursday.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who is also the minister of Health and Child Care was the first to be vaccinated, a gesture that earned him praises from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

ZETDC managing-director granted $30K bail in a US$1.4M tender case. Lovemore Chinaka who was being represented by his lawyer, Oliver Marwa, was being accused of violating tender procedures involving US$1 405 920.

Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) managing director Lovemore Chinaka was granted bail when he appeared before the courts for flouting tender procedures.

He was not asked to plead to the charges of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer when he appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Esthere Chivasa who freed him on a $30 000 bail. Magistrate Chivasa also ordered Chinaka to report to Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission once a fortnight.

Fans roasted Soul Jah Love family at a Nyaradzo Group Tribute online concert for the departed artist saying they neglected him ages ago.

Soul Jah Love’s family was eventually called to the stage to say a few words about the Pamamonya Ipapo hitmaker and fans did not hide their frustration.

Some questioned the family’s audacity to tell the world they were his relatives when at some point he stayed in the streets with no one taking care of him.

Others said the family was nowhere to be seen when Soul Jah Love was ill and needed them most.

Soul Jah Love mentions in some of his songs including Ndini Uya Uya, that his family had forgotten about him and used to illtreat him.

Chibabababa, as Soul Jah Love is popularly known by his legion of fans, claimed that he went to the streets when his stepmother chased him from home.

He used to get help from friends and promoters in the entertainment industry.

Economist Eddie Cross quits RBZ due to fatigue and frustration. Cross, a former Cold Storage Commission general manager and MDC Member of Parliament confirmed his resignation this week.

Eddie Cross has quit his role as a member of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ)’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) less than two years into the role, the Zimbabwe Independent reports.

He however did not disclose why he quit his role but the Zimbabwe Independent reported banking sector sources this week saying Cross had recently complained about fatigue and frustration at the central bank.

It is understood that the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development had attempted to muzzle him from speaking his mind. Cross had a penchant for disclosing the RBZ’s plans well before the central bank was ready to communicate its decisions officially.

In 2019, Cross revealed that a new currency was to be introduced before the RBZ had made an announcement and he was subsequently censured by Information ministry secretary Nick Mangwana.

Cross would also reveal that the RBZ was introducing a ZW$50, ZW$100 and ZW$200 banknotes, with the RBZ later moving to deny that it intended to release banknotes higher that ZWL$50.

Cross’s openness may also have made him persona non grata at the RBZ after he recently told an Alpha Media online forum, The Big Debate that the RBZ was printing ZW$1 billion (US$12,05 million) weekly, mainly to buy gold.
