The Bulawayo man who lost his entire salary to a hooker is now living in fear of being scalded with cooking oil by his wife.
Valentine Doubt Chindove (35) from Mpopoma suburb lost $450 to a sex worker, Siphethile Valentine Sibanda ,whom he had allegedly taken home to pleasure himself.
Through his own admission, he has shamed his family. Chindove who seemed disturbed by reports by our sister paper Chronicle said that he didn’t know that Sibanda, a habitual thief, was a prostitute.
He took her home because she told him in confidence that she was a police officer as they were about to strike a ‘business’ deal.
Then suddenly he was shocked to learn that he had lost his salary to a ‘law enforcement’ agent that had paid him a visit at home.
I met her the day before she stole from me and we exchanged numbers. She told me that she was a police officer and used to work at Central Police Station before being moved to Western suburbs. So we met on the second day where we had drinks at Extreme Bar in the afternoon before proceeding to my home around 6pm,” he said.
Quizzed why a married man would take a woman he barely knew to his home, Chindove was at pains in trying to defend himself.
“She said she was building a house in Cowdray Park so she was looking for a plumber and I saw this as an opportunity to discuss business with her. So I took her home. Little did I know that she would steal from me,” said Chindove.
He said he had become an embarrassment to his family and was even afraid of the actions that his wife could take.
“With women you wouldn’t know. She asked me if I was hiring prostitutes. I’m even scared that she could scald me with hot cooking oil,” he said.
“I can’t even switch on my cellphone anymore because the only messages circulating are from those expressing their disgust over my actions. Even at work I’m now a joke of the company,” he said.
