A close friend told the publication that DJ Dimplez, who’s real name is Tumi Mooi, collapsed while he was at a gig in Barcadi.
“To say I’m shocked would be an understatement. I don’t understand how people are dying like flies, something is wrong in celebville. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Nikiwe Khoza on Twitter.
DJ Dimplez was not only one of the most loved hip-hop artists, but he was also a blessing to some artists who he helped make a mark in the entertainment industry.
Sbo sent condolences to his family and said the DJ gave him a chance to perform at the main stage of his annual event, Pop bottles.
“I’m shocked to say the least,” he said.
Senzo Maseko said this was one of the most humble dj’s he’s ever seen.
“Heaven has definitely gained an angel, he’s touched some of our hearts. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
“We’re barely three months in and yet SA Hip-hop has lost Citi Lyts, Ricky Rick and now Dj Dimples. This is really hard to take. May their souls rest in peace,” Selina Mahlangu tweeted.
