Twitter users are convinced that Senzo Meyiwa’s “best friend” Tumelo Madlala knows more than he is telling, following the release of Netflix’s documentary Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star which was released on Thursday 7 April.
Senzo Meyiwa was said to have been shot during an armed robbery at his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus on 26 October 2014. Who was in the house when Senzo was shot?

- Zandi’s boyfriend Longwe Twala
- Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala
- Kelly’s then four-year-old son Christian and Kelly and Senzo’s daughter Thingo
Netflix’s documentary Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star dived into the details of that night. According to Senzo’s brother Sfiso, someone who was at the crime scene saw Tumelo the day after the murder.
“Apparently, he wasn;t telling these lies. He was telling the truth,” says Sfiso.
“Tumelo is the one we referred to as ‘guy in the cast.’ He came and stood just outside the yard in front of the entrance, he was crying. So, when Tumelo finally calmed down, he started confessing,” said a former police officer.
“He confessed that Senzso was shot by someone they were sitting together with. So, the story of intruders entering the house is not real,” the former police officer continued.

The former police officer went on to say that they were standing outside with Tumelo when the others showed up.
“Kelly’s sister, Zandie, called him over, saying he was needed inside. It was clear that they were all shouting at him,” added the former police officer.

The only plausible explanation is that Longwe found Tumelo there and figured he was Zandi’s guy, he pulled a gun at him and Senzo tried to protect his friend n got shot. Tumi was either threatened or paid to shut up. However there’s something I do not get #SenzoMeyiwa
