Amapiano musician DBN Gogo has been trending for all the wrong reasons on social media. This after her past tweets on celebrities came back to haunt her.
While attending the Real Housewives of Lagos launch on Thursday, 7 April, social media users commented that her dress looked ugly.
She then advised them to keep their negative opinions to themselves, especially when people were happy with how they looked.
“I wish you guys could keep your negative opinions to yourself, especially when people are content and happy with how they’ve presented. You’ll never control how anyone looks. You can however control your mouths,” she wrote.
However, they dug up her tweets from years ago, where she would laugh at celebrities’ dresses, saying that they looked ugly.
The tweets included bashing celebs like Bonang Matheba, Pearl Thusi, and Cassper Nyovest, among others.
People said she had double standards because she used to do it, but now it was hurtful because she was on the receiving end.
Popular Twitter user Chris Excel called DBN Gogo a veteran bully.
“So DBN Gogo is a Twitter bully veteran, but yesterday she was acting a victim,” he wrote.
Siya Mtitshana said: “Everyone has their day, and today it’s DBN Gogo’s.”
Belinda Lingula said she was scared of social media users for finding DBN Gogo’s old tweets.
“So, y’all found DBN Gogo’s tweet from 2011? I’m afraid of Twitter than I’m afraid of anything,” she wrote.
“What’s happening to DBN Gogo is proof that we’re not mean people for criticising red carpet looks, but it’s all part of entertainment. The difference is that she’s now on the receiving end of the criticism,” wrote Palesa Mashaba.
