Cristiano Ronaldo’s mom rushed to hospital, footballer speaks out. According to local reports, his mother suffered an ischemic stroke, which is an obstruction of the artery, preventing the passage of oxygen to brain cells. This is the most common type of stroke.
According to reports, Dolores was admitted to Dr Nelio Mendonca Hospital in her native island of Madeira.
She is said to be ‘conscious and stable’. Ronaldo, who is due to make an appearance for Juventus in the Italian cup on Wednesday evening had to fly to Madeira from Italy to attend to his mother.
At the start of last year, Dolores revealed she was ‘fighting for her life’ after her cancer supposedly returned. She beat breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2007 however in February last year ahead of a trip to Italy to celebrate Ronaldo’s 35th birthday she admitted cancer had returned.
She told a Portuguese TV station in an interview: ‘I was operated on another breast in Madrid, I’ve had radiotherapy and now I’m fighting for my life.’
Cristiano took to social media to thank his fans for their support and reassure them that his mom was stable and well on her way to recovery.
Said Cristiano, Thank you for all your messages of support for my mum. She is currently stable and recovering in hospital. Me and my family would like to thank the medical team looking after her, and kindly ask that we are all given some privacy at this time.
