Sadc suspends meetings over Coronavirus. Sadc health ministers met in Tanzania on Monday and recommended that face to face meetings by the regional body be suspended until the deadly Coronavirus is contained.
This includes meetings by Presidents of countries in the SADC First detected in China, the Coronavirus has spread all over the world including Africa.
In the Sadc region, South Africa has three confirmed cases. “The meeting recommended a temporary suspension of Sadc regional face to face meetings and encourage utilisation of modern technology such as video conferences, webinars and skype calls for holding such meetings u til such a time when the situation has been contained.
The temporary suspension to be monitored by the chairperson of the council supported by the Sadc secretariat,” read the Sadc statement.
