I’m always H0RNY – Ntsiki Mazwai

Ntsiki Mazwai has never been one to shy away from controversial topics. This time, she has revealed something a little more personal than we are all used to – that she is horny all the time.
The controversial poet recently took to Twitter to open up about her libido, which she feels is getting higher and higher with time. She wrote that she is always horny, and that it is an age thing. Her forties are really showing her flames.

Ntsiki Mazwai

Fans were shook at the openness and honesty. I mean, when was the last time you saw a celebrity open up on something so intimate and personal? And we are used to Ntsiki being controversial and dramatic, but it is hardly ever in this way. But then again, she always tells it like it is, so this should not be all that surprising.

As you can imagine, her fans and followers were tickled by the post. Of course, some saw it as the perfect opportunity to shoot their shots, and were in the comments offering to “help her out”, if you catch their drift.

Ntsiki is still in the middle of a saga with rapper Jub Jub. She recently demanded an apology from the TV host, after he dragged her name into his saga with the Amanda du Pont rape allegations.

Last year, the rapper’s family brought up Ntsiki’s name in a statement they issued, quoting her defamation saga with DJ Fresh, in which the DJ sued her for pushing the narrative that he had been accused of rape and physical abuse.

Ntsiki complained that Jub Jub and his mother were helping push the narrative that she is toxic and problematic, which was damaging her public image. But the rapper and his family are yet to issue an apology for their statements, and Ntsiki is yet to pursue the matter further, or at least that’s what it looks like in public.

Queen Elizabeth returns to duties after Covid-19 scare

Queen Elizabeth spent part of the weekend with some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren after recovering from Covid-19.

The 95-year-old monarch cancelled a number of engagements last week after testing positive for Covid-19 but she was feeling better at the weekend and spent the afternoon at Frogmore on her Windsor estate with some of the younger members of her family, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.

These included Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and their three children, Princes George and Louis, eight and three, and six-year-old Princess Charlotte, and Princess Beatrice and her four-month-old daughter Sienna. It is unclear if the Princess’ husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, or his son Wolfie, six, were also in attendance.
Although Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, lives in Frogmore Cottage on the estate with husband Jack Brooksbank and their 12-month-old son August, they were not at home on Sunday to join the other members of the family.
When the queen is in good health, she often drives to Frogmore, which is around a mile from Windsor Castle, to walk her dogs.

The monarch was due to host her first engagement since testing positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday but she was advised by the Foreign Office to cancel the planned diplomatic reception at Windsor Castle.

The reception is usually attended by ambassadors and high commissioners based in London. But the decision was taken after Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine.
A Buckingham Palace source stressed that the move was instigated by the Foreign Office, and wasn’t linked to the Queen’s recent health issues.

The monarch has cancelled three virtual engagements since being diagnosed with Covid-19. Now, her next public engagement is likely to be at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey in London on March 14.

Zacc: No sufficient evidence to nail former minister

A Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) investigating officer in the matter of former Public Service minister Petronella Kagonye on Tuesday said there was insufficient evidence against her in one of her cases of fraud.

Kagonye, who is represented by Rungano Mahuni, is being accused of swindling Shingiriro Housing Co-operative of some money after promising to deliver residential stands.

But Zacc officer Gilbert Manyore said he had encountered a challenge in investigating another count of fraud as an unnamed bookkeeper was outside the country.

He said the availability of the bookkeeper was critical in the investigations.

The officer also said the documents of the co-operative were not enough.

Kagonye, who was facing three counts of fraud had, one case withdrawn after witnesses claimed that they were coerced to lie against the former minister.

She also faces charges of converting government computers to own use.

Manyore, however, failed to state the number of computers received by Kagonye.

The defence filed a notice for discharge at the close of the State case.

Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti-Guwuriro will deliver her ruling on March 18.

The ex-minister is also being accused of converting US$18 000 meant for residential stands for a housing co-operative to personal use, a charge she denies.

Libya’s parliament approved a new government

Libya’s parliament approved a new government on Tuesday but the incumbent prime minister rejected the vote and vowed not to cede power, raising the risk of fighting among armed factions or territorial partition between rival administrations.

The parliament speaker’s declaration of Fathi Bashagha as prime minister after a televised vote aggravates a power struggle with the administration of Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah, who was installed through a United Nations (UN)-backed process last year.

Opposing armed groups have mobilised in the capital Tripoli over recent weeks and foreign forces including from Turkey and Russia that have backed rival warring factions remain in the country.

Whether the crisis will kindle armed conflict remains unclear, but it leaves Libya without a unified government, with the main political and military forces bitterly divided and with no clear path forward.

Bashagha said he had made arrangements with “security and military authorities” to set up his government in Tripoli but armed groups there said they opposed his installation as prime minister, which was backed by eastern commander Khalifa Haftar.

The crisis points to a return to Libya’s division between rival governments based in east and west. With Haftar holding most oil facilities, another blockade of the country’s 1.3-million-barrels-per-day crude exports is also in prospect.

During the previous years of division the central bank and National Oil Corp were linked to the internationally recognised Tripoli government but operated across front lines. The central bank governor is seen as an ally of Dbeibah.

“The most likely option is a return to two governments, neither of which will have all that much legitimacy, but only one of which will control the central bank,” said Tarek Megerisi of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

Bashagha’s large Cabinet with 35 members reflects the extensive negotiations and promises of positions needed to secure support from a majority of members of parliament and the various interests they represent.

Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh said the new government was approved by 92 of 101 members present in the chamber on Tuesday, which compared with the 132 who installed Dbeibah a year ago.

The Dbeibah government disputed Saleh’s account of Tuesday’s session, with some members saying their votes had been registered although they were not there, raising questions over its validity.

“The formal and legal aspects still matter, but a lot of what comes next will have to be determined by force,” said Jalel Harchaoui, a Libya researcher, adding that the armed groups that dominate Tripoli are divided over the crisis.

Libya has enjoyed little peace or security since the 2011 NATO-backed uprising against Muammar Gaddafi and it was divided after 2014 between warring parallel administrations in the east and west.

The United Nations backed a ceasefire and peace process after an eastern offensive against Tripoli collapsed in 2020, with most sides in Libya publicly supporting Dbeibah’s interim unity government and scheduling elections for December 2021.

After the election was cancelled shortly before the vote was due to take place amid disputes over the rules, the parliament moved to seize control of the political process and replace Dbeibah’s government.

The parliament, which was elected in 2014 and mostly took the eastern side in the civil war, has declared that Dbeibah’s government expired when the election did not take place. Critics of the parliament, including Dbeibah, accuse it of having sabotaged the December election and of working to ensure it can remain in place indefinitely, charges it denies.

The United Nations and foreign powers that recognised Dbeibah’s government when it was installed a year ago have avoided any definitive statement on which administration should now be seen as legitimate, and have instead pushed for quick elections.

Communication is one of the most important aspects of parenting

$

Communication is one of the most important aspects of parenting. The way you talk to your child plays an important role in determining your child’s feelings about itself and you.

Some sentences that might be run of the mill to adults but are extremely degrading for your child’s mental health and self-esteem. You might be joking lightly or making way for a playful conversation but the child can interpret it as they wish.

It has been found that certain phrases can make the child feel the same things that a bully might do, even when the parents’ intent is a playful conversation or light banter.

1. Nick names and name calling
Even though there are several names that parents can give to their child, some might be adorable while other names may not always be to the child’s taste. The lack of understanding that children exhibit at this age can also lead to internalization of certain names and define itself with reference to it. This can have a negative effect on the child’s self-esteem and can lead to a distorted self-image which can cause problems in the future.

2. The ‘no offence but..’ qualifier
Sentences starting with this phrase are clearly offensive because it actually means that what is going to follow is offensive and they should not say it but they are going to say it anyway. This tact is used often by bullies and people who wish to insult or humiliate obliquely. The phrase clearly shows premeditation and real life bullies can use this phrase to get rid of accountability for their hurtful words. This is not an example of brutal honesty but a willingness to hurt deliberately, a behavior you wouldn’t want your child to follow.

3. ‘You’re weird’
Love is basically acceptance and accepting a child for who it is should always reflect in your behavior and words. Telling your child that they are weird or annoying will instil a fear within them which will not let them be themselves. Such statements may be very definitive to some children and can affect their self-esteem. Being gentle with words and phrases is thus extremely important for the child and your relationship with it.

4. Comments or jokes on appearance
At school and in the playground, your child meets peers and children who openly comment on each other’s appearance. Bullies do that very often and extremely well. Such comments, however, can lead to internalization of these traits and a heightened awareness of their flaws. At home, try and create a safe space where the flaws aren’t pointed out but accepted. Joking or commenting on your child’s appearance can lead to the development of insecurities.

11 suspects in Kwekwe rally murder released

Eleven of the 16 youths who were arrested in connection with the murder of a Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporter at a rally in Kwekwe, Midlands province, on Sunday have been released amid reports that suspected State security agents had “hijacked” the funeral.

Five of the suspects were still being held in connection with the murder, according to human rights lawyers.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi professed ignorance of the release of the suspected Zanu PF supporters when contacted for comment last night.

But the Zimbabwe NGO Forum confirmed the release of the 11 suspects.

“Police arrested 16 people in relation to this murder and violence. Only five people were charged and appeared at Kwekwe Magistrates Court today (yesterday). The other 11 accused were released and were ordered to pay fines. The police did not explain the release of these accused persons on such a serious crime,” Darlington Marange, a Zimbabwe NGO Forum lawyer confirmed.

“The culprits should be held accountable to ensure justice for the deceased and his family. To ensure that the culprits are prosecuted, the Forum has dispatched Harrison Nkomo to do a watch in brief with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). Nkomo is helping the NPA with technical legal assistance to prosecute the culprits.”

When contacted for comment, Nkomo said: “Investigations are still underway.”

Violence erupted during opposition CCC leader Nelson Chamisa’s address when suspected Zanu PF supporters wielding machetes and spears, among other weapons, stormed the rally at Mbizo 4 shopping centre, leaving several supporters injured.

The violence claimed the life of Mboneni Ncube (30), who was reportedly stabbed with a spear as political tensions boil over ahead of the March 26 by-elections.

Ncube died on admission at Kwekwe General Hospital.

NewsDay gathered yesterday that suspected Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) operatives hijacked the funeral of the slain CCC supporter and chased away former Mbizo legislator Settlement Chikwinya.

During the day, a group of Zanu PF supporters were reportedly observed milling around Kwekwe Central Hospital to claim the body of the deceased.

The Zanu PF youths, who are reportedly linked to the Al Shabaab militia group, later stormed the funeral gathering and chased away CCC supporters.

Chikwinya was at the funeral to provide financial and material support to the family, only to be chased away by the suspected CIO operatives purporting to be relatives.

The deceased’s sister, who went to the funeral wearing a yellow T-shirt, was also reportedly chased away.

“I was ordered off by the CIOs,” Chikwinya said.

“The family members with whom I was communicating with were just seated helplessly. I had no choice, but to leave. I now wait to hear of the developments from some members of the community who are going to witness. I don’t know why they are doing this.”

According to a call recording in possession of NewsDay, suspected members of the CIO called Chikwinya claiming to be Ncube’s family members and ordered him to stop involving the CCC in the funeral proceedings.

In the call recording, one Ncube said: “We have decided that we do not want the deceased’s funeral to be associated with politics. Yes, his death was a result of his political affiliation, but his funeral will be held at a residence which has nothing to do with politics. Information that is coming up that our relative will be dumped at Jessie Gardens is not going down well with me.”

Jessie Gardens, which is located in Mbizo 11, is reportedly owned by a top Zanu PF official, who is said to command Al Shabaab.

The Kwekwe violence has been roundly condemned as barbaric, with human rights organisations calling for the culprits to be jailed.

The incident came a day after Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga threatened to “crush” the CCC.

On Saturday, CCC was blocked from holding a rally in Gokwe as campaigning to fill the vacant council and legislative seats entered the home stretch.

Analysts have said the polls are a precursor to the 2023 general elections, where Chamisa is expected to stand against President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Zanu PF presidential
candidate.

Constitutional Court hears Amendment No 2 Act challenge

$

0

The ConCourt will today hear an application filed by legal think-tank, Veritas, which seeks to nullify a law which critics say concentrated power in President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Constitutional Amendment No 2 Act was passed into law in May last year and gave the President unfettered powers to handpick his deputies and judges.

The Veritas application was consolidated with similar cases filed by other institutions such as the Law Society of Zimbabwe that is also challenging the amendments.

Dzivarasekwa MP Edwin Mushoriwa is the first applicant in the case, while Veritas is the second applicant.

In the court papers, Veritas was cited as the Firinne Trust and is seeking an order that declares Constitutional Amendment No 2 Act void, or that all the sections introduced after the gazetting of the Bill be set aside in the alternative.

Parliament and President Emmerson Mnangagwa were cited as the first and second respondents, respectively.

Veritas argues that the amendments were not properly passed by Parliament.

“The basis for this contention is that section 328 of the Constitution states that before a Constitution Amendment Bill can be presented in Parliament, the Speaker must give at least 90 days’ notice in the Gazette of ‘the precise terms’ of the Bill, and during those 90 days, Parliament must invite the public to express their views on the Bill in public meetings and through written submissions,” Veritas said.

“This allows the public to see precisely what amendments are proposed and gives them 90 days in which to discuss them and lobby their members of Parliament to vote for, or against the Bill.

“Section 328 would be wholly defeated if the government were permitted to alter a Constitution Amendment Bill out of all recognition after it had been presented to Parliament.”

Veritas added: “Parliament can resolve to remove clauses from the Bill (because that will leave the Constitution unchanged) and it can resolve to make minor corrections to the Bill, but if any substantial changes are to be made then the whole process must start again, a fresh Bill must be published in the Gazette and the public must be given 90 days in which to debate and discuss the new Bill.

“The changes that were made to the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No 2) Bill have been outlined above. They were extensive and substantial, and the Bill as passed by Parliament was materially different from the one that was originally published in the Gazette. Parliament, therefore, did not pass the Bill in accordance with section 328 of the Constitution, so the resultant Act is void.”

Matt Reeves worried that fans might not understand The Batman

The Batman director Matt Reeves was concerned that audiences wouldn’t be able to understand the plot of the superhero blockbuster during test screenings of the film.

The 55-year-old director has helmed the new superhero blockbuster but recalled how he was worried that fans would struggle to follow the “complex” detective narrative during test screenings for the movie.
In an interview with Collider, Matt said: “The first version of this movie that I screened; the movie has a very ambitious, complex narrative. So, by the time we got to a place where we had to start testing, I was not all the way through the cut of the movie.

“There was so much of the movie yet to be touched and it was really long. I mean, not to say that the movie doesn’t have length now, but it was longer than what I intended.

“I was terrified because I thought, oh my gosh, we’re showing this, before I’m ready, to an audience and in terms of a Batman movie, it’s a very complex detective story narrative. Are they going to be able to follow anything?
Matt admits that he was hugely relieved when he learned that audiences responded well to the plotline for the movie – which stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

The “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” director said: “What I found actually, which was amazing, was how much they loved that aspect. That was the biggest relief.

“I was thinking, okay, why did I do this? Why did I decide to make this kind of story? And what the first test screening told me was the audience wanted this, that we had the Batmobile chases, we had all the things. You can’t make a Batman movie without giving the baseline things that people want from a Batman movie.”

Matt added: “But I knew we were challenging the audience in this side of world’s greatest detective side, because it was going to be a very complex narrative and it turned out they love that part of it. It was one of the things that tested best.

Govt: We’ve evacuated 118 Zimbos from Ukraine

The government on Tuesday said it had evacuated 118 Zimbabwean students from war-torn Ukraine whose air tickets were being processed to enable them to return home.

Last week, the government said it was issuing clearance letters to rescue thousands of Zimbabweans caught up in the Russia-Ukraine war to ensure their safe passage to neighbouring countries.

Of the 118 students, 28 have been evacuated to Romania, 15 to Hungary, 26 to Slovakia and 49 to Poland.

Addressing a post-Cabinet media briefing, Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa said the government was in the process of buying their air tickets.

“Cabinet would like to reassure the nation that the government is taking all necessary steps to evacuate students and other nationals from Ukraine following the outbreak of war with Russia,” she said.

“The country’s missions to Moscow and Berlin are facilitating the evacuation mission. There is a mission official who is currently based in Poland to assist those that need to be repatriated. You will continue to be updated on the situation of students in Ukraine.”

This comes as the African Union (AU) slammed racist actions against Africans, mainly students, fleeing the war in Ukraine, who were being denied access to safe zones.

In a statement, AU chairperson who is also Senegal President, Macky Sall, and the chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat jointly condemned the events which they said they had been “following closely”.

“We are particularly disturbed by reports that African citizens on the Ukrainian side of the border are being refused the right to cross the border to safety. All people have the right to cross international borders during conflict and, as such, should enjoy the same rights to cross to safety from the conflict in Ukraine, notwithstanding their nationality or racial identity,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, Mutsvangwa also announced that government had increased board fees and sitting allowances for non-executive directors of public entities.

“The current board fees and sitting allowances had fallen far below the market trends and no longer motivated State enterprises and parastatals, non-executive directors, to devote sufficient time to the business of their entities,” she said.

“Since the boards of directors’ major role is providing effective and entrepreneurial leadership, it is necessary to put in place an attractive remuneration package in order to attract high calibre, experienced and skilled individuals to the boards.”

Mutsvangwa said census mapping and a pilot census had been successfully completed, paving the way for the 2022 population and housing census.

ZHRC laments increase in political intolerance

$
0
0

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) has lamented the rising cases of political intolerance and escalating interparty violence ahead of the March 26 by-elections and the 2023 harmonized elections.

This comes after one person died, while 17 others were injured on Sunday in Kwekwe during a Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) rally which was being addressed by party leader Nelson Chamisa.

In a statement yesterday, ZHRC said political violence could not be tolerated in a democratic and free society.

“The ZHRC has noted with great concern the recent reports of violent clashes at rallies and calls upon all political parties and relevant stakeholders to shun all forms of politically-motivated violence. Section 67(2)(b) of the Constitution guarantees the right to campaign freely and peacefully for a political party or cause of own choice and, therefore, the commission strongly condemns all political violence as it is a violation of political rights and freedoms,” the statement read.

“The commission, therefore, unreservedly condemns these incidents of politically-motivated violence and calls on all political parties involved in the electoral process to show restraint and refrain from provocative conduct or incitement of supporters to commit acts of violence. It is common cause that anyone who commits, orders, incites, encourages or contributes in any way to the commission of violent crime is complicit in the violence and such persons should be held accountable for their conduct.”

ZHRC said there was need to embrace multi-party politics which is highly-tolerant regardless of divergent political views.

“The commission, particularly condemns the use of inflammatory language by some political actors during campaign rallies, which causes tension among members of various political parties.

“ZHRC calls upon all political leaders to immediately de-escalate tension and re-engage constructively, in the interests of the people of Zimbabwe, with a view to agree on the modalities of conducting inclusive, free, fair, transparent, and credible elections.”

The commission urged law enforcement agents to be impartial.

Amnesty International said the attacks on CCC party members were meant to intimidate the opposition.

“The government’s rhetoric has done much to incite such ferocious violence and unfortunately little to ensure the free exercise of the rights to freedom of assembly and association.

“The Zimbabwean authorities must immediately end the culture of politically-motivated violence by refraining from issuing inflammatory statements that may incite violence and they must ensure an impartial, independent and transparent investigation into this attack. The perpetrators must be brought to justice,” Amnesty International deputy director for southern Africa Muleya Mwananyanda said.

Tens of thousands evacuated in Australia as heavy rains close in on Sydney

Tens of thousands of Australians fled their homes and authorities evacuated a hospital on Wednesday as torrential rains continued to batter the country’s east coast. Eleven people have died since the extreme weather arrived late last week, submerging town centers, unmooring homes and cutting power lines.

The wild storm cell has been making its way down from Queensland state into neighbouring New South Wales (NSW) and is expected to hit Sydney, home to more than 5 million people, later on Wednesday.

“Hundreds of thousands of people have been impacted by this event,” NSW Emergency Services Minister Stephanie Cooke told broadcaster ABC on Wednesday morning.

“It is not over by any stretch of the imagination.” The Bureau of Meteorology said Sydneysiders should brace for months of rain to fall within a few hours, as officials reported that Warragamba Dam, the city’s major water supply for Sydney, began overflowing on Wednesday morning.

The country’s weather bureau warned Sydney and surrounding regions could receive up to 200 mm (8 inches) of rains within six hours later in the day. Sydney’s mean rainfall for March is138 mm, according to official data.
In the northern town of Ballina, the main hospital was evacuated, ahead of an anticipated peak in the floodwaters. Lismore, a town a little further north that was hit hard on Tuesday, residents waited for water levels to recede far enough to allow emergency services to reach them with emergency supplies.

NSW emergency crews carried out 300 flood rescues after getting 2 200 requests for help overnight. Military helicopters airlifted stranded people from rooftops, while stranded motorists and animals were rescued from a bridge after fast-rising waters submerged both ends.

Cassie Skillings, who got stuck on the bridge along with her sister, niece and nephew, told radio station 2GB a local resident rescued them in his boat.

“It was just mayhem, once shipping containers started hitting the bridge I called triple zero and they said there was nothing they could do,” she said.

Major League DJz back for free show in Zim

As the local showbiz scene is fast becoming alive after the recent opening of the sector to allow physical gatherings for live concerts, fans for South African music duo, Major League have something to smile at this Saturday.

The Major League fans were left disappointed when the duo flew in, but failed to perform in October last after police stormed the show and shut down the event due to “violation” of COVID-19 protocols.

Major League twins Bandile and Banele Mbere, who have made a name for themselves in the music business with their diversified and distinctive deejaying style, make a return for a “free” concert dubbed The Return of Major League set for Borrowdale Racecourse in Harare.

The concert spokesperson Collin Manyore yesterday confirmed to the publication that the twin brothers would touch down at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Saturday morning.

“We are happy to be bringing back Major League this Saturday as they promised that they will be retuning for their supportive fans having failed to perform last year in October.

As we want to continue promoting local artistes an array of wheelspinners will rub shoulders with Major League at the show,” he said.

“As a token of appreciation and to make it up to their fans, there is a free entry gift voucher for fans between 1pm and 4pm.

Bearing in mind that COVID-19 is still in our midst, all COVID-19 protocols will be observed.”

At the concert, the Mzansi duo will share the stage with dancehall star Enzo Ishall, emcee DJ Fantan and wheelspinners Levels, Selekta Base, Raydizz, Burtler, MC Tatts and Langton B.

“Everything has been sorted and what is left is for Major League to arrive and perform,” Manyore said.

The local showbiz scene appears to have regained its spark if the large numbers being witnessed at live shows are anything to go by.

The latest developments seem to be a relief to many across genres who had been financially squeezed by the long COVID-19-induced lockdown.

Artistes were suffocating from the effects of the lockdown that had turned some of them into charity cases.

The arts sector had remained under a hard lockdown amid fears that large gatherings would become super-spreaders of the highly-infectious respiratory disease.

Civil servants ordered to evert to normal working hours

The entire civil service is reverting to normal working hours starting at 7:45am to 4:45pm following agreements between the employees and their employer on the improved conditions of services.

Agreements on improved conditions have also seen an improvement of teachers and learners’ attendance at schools after the resumption of classes last month.

Normal service had been disrupted as a control measure for the Covid-19 pandemic, but following successful containment measures instituted by the Government in adherence to the World Health Organisation protocols, more social contact is now permissible.

A return to the standard shifts was announced yesterday after a Cabinet meeting, and a directive was also given for a vaccination blitz of the 12 to 15-year age group to improve the Covid-19 vaccination nets as a means of protecting citizens against the virus.

Announcing the Cabinet decision last night Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said: “In view of the opening up of the economy and the need to enhance service delivery to citizens, Cabinet also resolved that, going forward, the entire civil service should revert to normal working hours, that is 7:45am to 4:45pm”

“Cabinet wishes to inform the nation that the continued discussions and engagement with the stakeholders is bearing fruit and has positively resulted in increased attendance at schools by both teachers and pupils.

“By Friday, February 25, 2022, the attendance at schools by both teachers and learners was at 91.7 percent and 85 percent, respectively.

“Cabinet was also informed that Government and civil service representatives negotiated and agreed on improved conditions of service for civil servants,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

The improved conditions of service include a 20 percent review on gross payments backdated to January 1, continuation of payment of US$75 Covid-19 allowance for civil servants’ payable in hard currency with effect from January 1, 2022.

There was also an introduction of US$100 salary to be paid in hard currency across the board with effect from March 1, bringing the total USD monthly pay component to USD$175, with effect from March 1, 2022.

On vaccination Minister Mutsvangwa said as of Monday more than 4,3 million people had received their first vaccine doses while more than 3,3 million had received their second dose with more than 1,2 million getting the third dose.

She said Cabinet had noted with concern the decline in the number of vaccines administered during the reporting week, compared to last week, prompting a vaccination blitz.

“The nation is also being advised that preparations are underway for the planned national vaccination blitz. The blitz will include the 12 to 15-year age group, in line with the recent Cabinet directive,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

“Accordingly, all ministries will provide maximum support to the blitz with a view to protecting communities against the severe impact of a potential 5th wave and as such, Cabinet would like to encourage all citizens who have not yet been vaccinated to go and get vaccinated since we are not yet out of the woods.”

The 32-year-old man, identified as Luwizo, married three sisters named Natalie, Nadege, and Natasha.

The groom said he met Natalie via Facebook and he fell in love with her after they chatted for a while, according to Afrimax English.

He decided to meet up with her and she introduced him to her sisters, Nadege and Natasha, and they fell in love with him too.

Luwizo recalled the first time he met Natalie’s identical sisters.

He said: “I was very much surprised that I almost fainted. It seems like I was dreaming!”

Asked about how they handled the situation, one of the triplets said: “When we told him he had to marry all of us, he was shocked. But because he had already fallen in love with all of us, nothing could stop our plans since we were also in love with him.

“Even though people considered it impossible for three women to share one husband, to us, sharing everything has been our life since childhood.”

Luwizo said although his parents didn’t approve of his decision and decided not to attend his wedding, he has no regrets whatsoever going forward with it.

He said: “You have to lose something in order to gain another. In addition, one has their preferences and their own way of doing things. So I’m happy to marry the triplets no matter what others think. My parents despised my decision and that’s why they didn’t attend my wedding. But all I can say is love has no limits.”

The triplets brides said: “Today we are very happy, as you can see, because our dreams come true without being separated by husbands, but God heard our prayers.”

Natalie explained: “He wasn’t able to differentiate us, so we ended up falling in love with him. At first, when we told him that he has to marry all of us became a puzzle to him. But because he had already fell in love with all of us. Even though people consider it impossible for three women to share one husband but to us sharing everything is our life since our childhood.”

Cologne archbishop offers resignation over abuse scandals

The Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki, said he offered his resignation to the Pope during the break from his duties he took after criticism of how he dealt with Church abuse scandals, but the Pope has yet to decide on his offer.

Woelki took a break from his duties as head of the largest diocese in the world’s richest Catholic Church in September following a scandal over the hierarchy’s failure to deal with abuse committed by priests.

“I placed my service and office as Archbishop of Cologne at the Holy Father’s disposal, so that he is free to decide what best serves the Church of Cologne,” he wrote in a letter to his congregation.

In February 2021, the archbishop said that he will help victims report abuse, improve priests’ training and keep better records to prevent future misconduct after a report on the handling of sexual abuse was released.

The 800-page report into the archdiocese of Cologne between 1975 and 2018 found 202 abusers and 314 victims and said Church officials had failed in their duties in some 75 cases.

It prompted the Archbishop of Hamburg to offer his resignation to the Vatican and Cologne Archbishop Woelki suspending three other officials.
