Mzansi reacts to Uncle Waffles’ IG Live with Drake

Internationally acclaimed rapper Drake had social media buzzing this morning when he made a surprise appearance in DJ and artist Uncle Waffles’ Instagram (IG) Live comments this morning (25 March).

The Canadian-born rapper Drake has been following the Amapiano artist on Instagram since she became a hit last year (2021).

The God’s Plans hitmaker Drake – surprised Mzansi when he jumped on Uncle Waffles Instagram Live in the early hours on Friday.

Mzansi and Waffles’ fans also jumped on entertainment blogger Musa Khawula’s post about Drake and the DJ with many stating that the rapper is romantically interested in the DJ.

As it now seems that the Controlla rapper didn’t just follow her just to view her page from a distance.

Drake commented during her Live feed:

“WAFFFFLLLESSSSSS“.

And also commented:

“Top DJ Top Sound Uncle.”

To which Waffled reportedly replied:

“Hi Drake.”

Mzansi also congratulated Uncle Waffles for bagging a gig at Ministry of Sound in London, United Kingdom alongside DJ Maphorisa back in January.

The DJ also recently made headlines recently when she announced that she was releasing her first EP titled Red Dragon and dropped her first single Tanzania.

Mission: Impossible 8 begins filming

Mission: Impossible 8” has started filming, according to Collider. Tom Cruise has reprised the role of Ethan Hunt for the eighth instalment of the long-running film franchise, Collider reports. The Hollywood star shot “Mission: Impossible 7” amid the Covid-19 pandemic and it was originally slated to premiere on September 30, 2022. But due to problems relating to the health crisis, its release has now been pushed back until July 14, 2023.

“Mission: Impossible 7” has been made at a cost of $290 million, with tax incentives, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will also be available on the Paramount+ streaming app just 45 days after its theatrical release. Mission: Impossible 8”, on the other hand, was originally due to premiere on July 7, 2023 – but it’s now been delayed until June 28, 2024.

The project features returning stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as newcomers Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, and Cary Elwes. The timescales for the back-to-back productions were changed because of the pandemic, which created a huge amount of disruption throughout the movie industry. Last year, Tom discussed the challenge of getting the production up and running amid the global health crisis.

The 59-year-old actor was determined to return to work, even though the pandemic threatened to derail his plans. He said at the time: “I’ve produced 30 to 40 movies. I am responsible for thousands, if not tens of thousands, of jobs.

All my friends in the industry, people that are in distribution, and my crew were like, ‘What are we going to do? I could lose my house!’ So I told the studio and I told the industry, ‘We’re going back. We’re going to get everyone back to work. We’re going to start shooting in the summer. And we’re going to figure out how to do it safely.

Late Riky Rick’s mother breaks her silence

Award-winning Mzansi artist, Riky Rick’s mother, Louisa Zondo, has broken her silence over her son’s tragic death.

Zondo is currently trekking to Mount Everest with Riky Rick’s aunt Xoliswa Kakana while reminiscing about his life. Louisa is documenting her trek on social media, with posts written addressed to her son.

Riky Rick, real name Rikhado Muziwendlovu Chifaro Makhado, died last month after committing suicide at his home in Waterfall Estate, Johannesburg.

In her first post as she embarked on her trek to Mount Everest, Zondo wrote:

“Dearest MaRiky. It’s early hours of the morning on 23 March 2022 – 01H03, Nepali time, to be exact. 23 February 2022 is the day on which your spirit and body separated.

“I am lying on my back in a warm bed in the Bhudda Lounge, Phakding, Nepal. I’m in Nepal because I am on my way walking to Mount Everest Base Camp, MaRiky. I’m awake at this hour because I’m reflecting on life, death and the meaning of everything.

“Since your death last month, I’ve been starkly aware of the need in me to make sense of where I am and how I am called to be. I decided to proceed with this trek to Mount Everest Base Camp not only because I knew you would want me to do so, but also because I imagined it would present the perfect opportunity, over 14 days, for me to wrestle with the questions – (i) What is the moment; and (ii) How does this moment call me to be.

“I am very unskilled at staying with an enquiry – any enquiry – and going deep into it. You know this because during your 34 years of life on this side, you watched me “busy-body” myself through many crises.

“In fact you were the first person to really teach me to sit with challenges and “encounter them” without rushing to offer what I perceived to be solutions…without needing to wipe away the challenge. For this reason, my Mount Everest Base Camp walk will be embodied in a long conversation with you.

“I imagine that the conversation will not be neat and orderly and yet all else is unclear to me and the conversation might just present itself as and when it emerges.

In her latest update posted on Saturday, Riky Ricky’s mother wrote:

“Dear MaRiky, the experience of yesterday was beautiful. Aunt Xoli and I walked with our trekking team after connecting with them on Monday evening, 22 March. It was our Day 2 of the Mount Everest Base Camp trek.

“We left Phakding at about 09:00 and headed for Namche Bazaar. It was a 9 hour trek filled with laughter, cameradie, silence, and physical anguish of the body. We ascended from the altitude of 2600m to 3440m above sea level.

“I feel enormous gratitude that all of us in the team ended the day in high spirit and eager to treat our exhausted bodies to much-deserved rest.

“As I took in the unspeakable wonders of the mountain, the sense of you being part of it all was so real MaRiky…I laughed out loud and shouted out your name.

“I still hold this huge awareness of your presence. It brings up an inexplicable warmth and softness in me. Being like this brings up the unforgettable experience of gazing at a feeding baby in utter love.

“When baby takes in the gaze the response is a cooing accompanied by the trickling of milk down the side of baby’s mouth as the gaze orbits baby’s primal instinct to feed. Such moments were, for me, always whispers of God’s presence… Love’s presence.

President Biden says Putin cannot remain in power in fiery speech on Ukraine war

U.S. President Joe Biden said that Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power” in Poland Saturday, remarks a White House official said later were meant to prepare the world’s democracies for extended conflict over Ukraine, not back regime change in Russia.

Biden’s comments on Saturday, including a statement earlier in the day calling Putin a “butcher,” were a sharp escalation of the U.S. approach to Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.

In a major address delivered at Warsaw’s Royal Castle, Biden evoked Poland’s four decades behind the Iron Curtain in an effort to build a case that the world’s democracies must urgently confront an autocratic Russia as a threat to global security and freedom.
But a remark at the end of the speech raised the spectre of an escalation by Washington, which has avoided direct military involvement in Ukraine, and has specifically said it does not back regime change.

“For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power,” Biden told a crowd in Warsaw after condemning Putin’s month-long war in Ukraine. A White House official said Biden’s remarks did not represent a shift in Washington’s policy.

“The President’s point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbours or the region,” the official said. “He was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change.”

Asked about Biden’s comment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Reuters: “That’s not for Biden to decide. The president of Russia is elected by Russians.”
Calling the fight against Putin a “new battle for freedom,” Biden said Putin’s desire for “absolute power” was a strategic failure for Russia and a direct challenge to a European peace that has largely prevailed since World War Two.

“The West is now stronger, more united than it has ever been,” Biden said. “This battle will not be won in days or months, either. We need to steel ourselves for the long fight ahead.”

The speech came after three days of meetings in Europe with the G7, European Council and NATO allies, and took place roughly at the same time as rockets rained down on the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, just 60 kilometres (40 miles) from the Polish border.

“Their brave resistance is part of a larger fight for essential democratic principles that unite all free people,” Biden said. “We stand with you. Period.

In his speech, Biden said NATO is a defensive security alliance which never sought Russia’s demise and he reiterated that the West has no desire to harm Russia’s people even as its sanctions threaten to cripple their economy.

Poland was under communist rule for four decades until 1989 and was a member of the Moscow-led Warsaw Pact security alliance. It is now part of the European Union and NATO.

The rise of right-wing populism in Poland in recent years has put it in conflict with the EU and Washington, but fears of Russia pressing beyond its borders has drawn Poland closer to its Western allies.

Speaking to a crowd holding U.S., Polish and Ukrainian flags, Biden said the West is acting in unison because of the “gravity of the threat” to global peace.

“The battle for democracy could not conclude and did not conclude with the end of the Cold War,” Biden said. “Over the last 30 years the forces of autocracy have revived all across the globe.”

Earlier in the day, Biden dropped in on a meeting with Ukraine’s foreign and defense ministers and made additional, unspecified security pledges on developing defence cooperation, according to Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba.

In Warsaw, Biden also visited a refugee reception centre at the national stadium. More than 2 million people have fled the war to Poland. Altogether, about 3.8 million have left Ukraine since fighting began. Putin calls Russia’s military actions in Ukraine a “special military operation” to demilitarise and “denazify” the country.

Nomzamo Mbatha celebrate the start of rebuilding Dr JL Dube High School

Nomzamo Mbatha has become a beacon of hope for many people in Mzansi, particularly for young people from KwaMashu in Durban as she’s living proof your circumstances do not define you. The actress’ trip to her hometown to launch the rebuilding project of a local school was a full circle moment for her.

While she is back on t home ground working on a new project she’s set to reveal soon, TshisaLIVE flew to KwaMashu to celebrate the start of rebuilding Dr JL Dube High School into a state of the art school with the Cotton On Foundation.
It’s a full circle moment knowing I am a part of the foundation and they chose my hometown, a place that’s always seen as destitute, a place always seen as hopeless because of the socioeconomic landscape and hurdles a young person faces. It’s good to be home and have my finger on the pulse,” she told TshisaLIVE.
The project will give Dr JL Dube High new learning digital spaces and sports facilities. It is more than just a modern refurbishing of the infrastructure as the project will bring additional staff ) and give ongoing support to the 1,280 pupils attending the institution through mental health programmes.

“Mental health is absolutely paramount, I have my own experience with mental health. Education is a very stressful journey. I suffered from depression when I lost my grandmother and sister while I was in university on a bursary,

“I love that the Cotton On Foundation has a mental health programme for the school so pupils have a place to lean on
As a 13-year-old girl who used to wake up in the morning and walk to the bus stop, Nomzamo recalled how teachers used to believe in her and how the project is part of her believing in the children and giving them hope.

“I cannot explain how it feels to grow up in KwaMashu and have to hold on to hope. I don’t think it’s by mistake that I am doing this project. I thank my ancestors, my angels and my highest God.”

Nomzamo said being a humanitarian is a calling for her as she’s in the business of advocating and “making fame good” which was ignited after her first trip to Kenya with Save The Children Sweden alongside other two other children to represent SA.

“That was when I knew one day I wanted to touch the entire continent. It’s always been in my nature”

Seeing her late father in his most ill days going to great lengths to make sure she was well taken care also showed her the power of good deeds. “I remember thinking; ‘Wow, what a good man.

President Joe Biden says US will take 100 000 Ukrainians

Like many of the exhausted Ukrainians lined up at the concert hall turned refugee center, Lidia Vergun had heard that President Joe Biden arrived in the Polish capital and also that he brought an offer to accept 100,000 Ukrainians into the United States.

She was grateful, she said, but not interested. America was too far. I have lived in Ukraine all my life,” said Vergun, 52, a grandmother from near Chernihiv who was waiting to collect some of the donated diapers and shampoo being handed out by volunteers. “We want to go back to our motherland as soon as possible.”

Vergun’s faith that war in Ukraine would be a short-term affair was common among those still reeling from their rush to escape. For now, staying in Poland or other neighboring countries offered their best hope of resuming normal life as soon as possible. Not many Ukrainians in Warsaw have expressed a wish to go beyond the bounds of Poland or surrounding Europe.

“Mostly they are asking to travel to Italy, Germany, Spain. We’ve only had a few ask about the U.S.,” said Rostyslaw Sydoruk, one of the agents registering new arrivals at the center, which has processed more than 10,000 Ukrainian refugees.
Most want to stay in Poland, he said, which shares a 300-mile border with their home country. But many have also boarded the buses and trains that offer free passage to other countries within the European Union. Several refugee workers said they were aware of no free flights from Poland to the United States.

Whether Biden’s announcement would open new high-volume paths across the Atlantic for Ukrainians remained unclear Friday. White House officials said the new initiative would channel refugees through a number of existing programs but offered no additional details.

Refugee agencies in Poland said they had not gotten advance notice of the expansion but welcomed any measure that would ease the burden of caring for more than 3.5 million Ukrainians who are on the move.

Senior Zanu PF official kills CCC supporter

In a brazen show of political intolerance, Zanu PF central committed member, John Nhamburo, Saturday allegedly deliberately ran over a Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) activist in Mazowe North, killing him on the spot.

The opposition party identified the now deceased as Shelton Zangaro of Chaona, Ward 21, who met his fate as he returned from casting his vote in the Saturday, March 26 by-election in the area.

CCC confirmed the incident in a tweet yesterday.

“On a sad note, John Nhamburo, a Zanu PF member intentionally hit one of our members Shelton Zangaro with his car and he died on the spot. Nhamburo is a well-known thug in Mashonaland Central. Our member was hit after he had cast his vote at Chaona, Ward 21, Mazowe North,” CCC posted.

The Zanu PF youth apparatchik is not new to controversy, as recently he was at the centre of a storm in which he was abetting child labour at two white-owned commercial farms in Mashonaland Central.

He harassed, intimidated and threatened workers committees.

Nhamburo and his accomplice Shadreck Muwandi also blocked labour unionists from investigating child labour reports at the farms claiming they were working on the instructions of Home Affairs minister, Kazembe Kazembe.

The minister doubles as Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairman.

The pair recently caused drama at Blackforby and Tavydale farms owned by Nick and Peep Mattison, where they allegedly threatened to harm a delegation that had visited the farms on a fact-finding mission to establish reports on child labour.

The delegation included provincial labour officer, Andrew Nyekete, National Employment Council (NEC) and labour unionists from Progressive Agriculture and Allied Industries Workers Union of Zimbabwe (PAAWUZ) led by secretary-general Phillip Mafundu.

SABC2’s long running show Muvhango‘s problems continue to mount and it is the latest show to leave viewers unimpressed. Originally, the show drew increasing numbers of viewers every month, but it seems to be in trouble.

Recently it has been leaving viewers foaming at the mouth over its boring storyline and they are threatening to boycott it. It seems things had been getting better but now they’re back to square one. The show had been losing viewership due to its boring storyline.

The show has been receiving major backlash on social media lately for promoting witchcraft. Some of its episodes featured Susan using muthi to save her marriage. Viewers feel the show is now promoting witchcraft. The soapie also recently introduced new faces but viewers are not happy with them. They feel the soapie recycle its storyline.


Another show that was dragged for its storyline and improved is Uzalo. The show was skating on thin after the SABC gave it an ultimatum to improve storyline or it will get cancelled.

On social media, viewers’ complaints about the poor storyline has been falling on deaf ears but now, the SABC decided to step in to sort things out. An executive from the SABC told Sunday World that instead of taking drastic measures of canning the telenovela, they were trying to remedy the situation.

“Yes, there are issues with Uzalo because of its dwindling numbers and the complaints we received from viewers who said the storyline was now boring. We urged the producers to come up with creative storylines to rescue the soapie because it was important to the SABC. Another thing we emphasized was that actors need to be paid decent salaries for their work,” said the executive to the publication.

The show got renewed for a new season and the SABC announced a 3-year agreement the show. Recently it added new face including Thembi Nyandeni, Siyabonga Radebe, Omuhle Gela and etc.

Mzansi actress Buhle Samuels largely keeps her relationship under wraps, which has had many confused about her relationship status. But now, if the reports are to be believed, it seems as though she keeps it all under wraps because her partner is a gangster.

The former ‘Muvhango’ actress was recently reported to have tied the knot. And although she did not publicize the event herself, pictures and videos were leaked on social media.

Her husband, from the pictures leaked on social media, was identified solely as Thando, with no further information about who he is, what he does, or where he is from.

But it wasn’t long before further information was revealed, which left fans shook. According to entertainment blogger Musa Khawula, Thando is allegedly a gangster, who participates in heists and other similar criminal activities.

It is unclear where the blogger got his information from, but Mzansi social media is convinced that it is true. I mean, by all accounts, Buhle is a popular IT girl, and it is rather against her brand to keep such a big life milestone private.

The news has received a range of mixed reactions from Buhle’s fans. I mean, it was bad enough that she got married impromptu, and fans were already struggling to process that news. As one fan said, he was just getting his savings to R1000 to go and pay lobola for her, but now she is off the market, and he is left breathing through the wound.

But the additional news, that her new husband may be a criminal, made it even more painful for them. For some of them, they were heartbroken because all along, they thought she was way out of their league, but as it turns out, if she can get married to a gangster, perhaps they should have shot their shot at her way earlier.

Others think that it is definitely the money that attracted her to him. She has been compared to Lerato Kganyago, whose husband Thami is also allegedly a criminal, saying that these IT girls only care about money, which is why they fall for criminals.

All this put a sad dent in some great happy news, which is rather unfortunate. But we will take this opportunity to say a hearty congratulations to Buhle on her new journey, and may they have a happy, fulfilling marriage.

Update: CCC Leading In Both Council And Parliament Seats

The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa is leading the race in both National Assembly and local government seats attained from the 26 March by-elections.

As per the latest results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), the newly-formed party has won:

i). 77/120 (64%) Council Seats

ii). 19/28 (68%) Parliamentary Seats

Overall Performance: 66%

The ruling ZANU PF follows at a distant second while opposition MDC-T which is contesting as the MDC Alliance is yet to record a single win.

Most of the seats were left vacant when MDC-T recalled members that were pro-Chamisa. The just-ended poll was set to restore the 2018 order as Chamisa’s lieutenants are winning, but, MDC-T leader, Senator Douglas Mwonzora, has recalled 16 more councillors.

Another observation is that the ruling ZANU PF is making inroads into territories that were formally considered opposition hunting grounds. In cases where ZANU PF is losing, it is doing so by reduced margins compared to yesteryears.

Zim by-elections: Some voters say they could not cast ballots

Some voters in Harare are crying foul.

They say they’ve been unable to cast their ballots in by-elections as their names were not on the voters’ roll.

The main opposition CCC, led by Nelson Chamisa, says its members were turned away deliberately.

It blames this on the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.

Zimbabweans have been voting for 133 vacant seats in parliament and councils.

Results are expected on Sunday.

Brutus sons are finally here

Ferguson Films recently announced that it was looking for 4 male actors from Kwazulu-Natal who are going to play Brutus’ son in The Queen. Discovering new faces and making them household names has been the show’s hallmark.

Taking to his Instagram Siphesihle Vazi who is one of the actors joining the show posted pictures of them giving us a glimpse of who the other actors are. They are Craig Nobela, Ntobeko Mathebula, and Khumbuza Meyiwa. The actors are fairly new in TV the industry and we cannot see them showcase their talent.
he show has been canned after 7 years on air. Viewers had been complaining about its boring storyline and it appears the channel had to make the bold decision of showing it the door.

The show will premiere its finale 7th season in July 2022 and conclude on 13 January 2023. Mzansi Magic confirmed that it has been cancelled together with Lingashoni.

Before the show even started, we knew it was going to be a dramatic one. As the last Live Eviction Show before Finale Week, it was crunch time for the Housemates. There were five Nominees, and only two spots, so there was a tight bottleneck to get through. The first Housemate to get blocked by that bottleneck was Terry.

During her exit interview with Lawrence, Terry said that she may have lost her sanity a bit while in the House, but that she was “back, now!” Which makes us very happy. When shown a reel of her time in the House, all she had to say was, “I love it!” Always one to wear her heart on her sleeve, Terry was never likely to get into self-recrimination. She made an impact on the show, that’s for sure.

The second Housemate to hear about their Eviction was Sis Tamara. Sis Tamara was the first person to enter the House and was quickly established as strong personality and a leading contender for the R2 million. When speaking to Lawrence, Sis Tamara said that she is more accepting of herself, and that she now also accepts the character of Ukho as her own. Numerous Housemates have expressed how they thought that Sis Tamara was an outstanding personality in the House, and we must agree.

The third Evictee was Thato, who went head-to-head against Gash1 to hear her fate. It was something of a sad moment – their relationship has been blossoming of late, and the fact that they are now split is obviously unpleasant for them both. She told Lawrence that she is hopelessly in love and will miss Gash1. She won’t have to miss him for long, though – one week from today, we will discover who the winner of the grand prize is. We can’t wait!

Will Smith on Sunday won the Oscar for best actor for portraying Venus and Serena Williams’ father Richard in the tennis biopic “King Richard,” taking home the trophy minutes after he went viral for slapping presenter Chris Rock onstage.

“Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family,” Smith said through tears.
“Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said, just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things.”
Not long before he earned his golden statuette, Smith sparked controversy at the gala by storming onstage and slapping Rock, who made a joke about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

“I’m hoping the Academy invites me back,” Smith said to close his speech.
Smith apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees, but not Chris Rock. He wrapped up his speech by saying he hopes that the Academy invites him back.

His performance in King Richard was his third Oscar nomination, after Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness. King Richard is the origin story of the Williams sisters. Isha Price, one of Venus and Serena’s older sisters, told NPR that they have been approached many times to make a movie about Venus and Serena. This one was different, she said. Instead of following a story that is still being written, King Richard became a snapshot of the early days, when Richard Williams served not only as the sisters’ trainer, but also as their fierce proponent.

Man arrested after for raping neighbor’s duck, chicken and dog

GABORONE-Police in Botswana arrested a 33-year-old man who was allegedly caught having s3x with a duck, a chicken, and a dog belonging to his neighbor.

The commander of Francistown Police Station Lebalang Maniki confirmed the incident but refused to disclose further details.

According to Maniki, the suspect was detained on Friday, March 25, 2022 police is still collecting all the evidence in the matters.

He is expected to appear in court as soon as the investigations are complete.

indicated that the owner of the animals who reported the bestiality incidents to police has requested for the suspect to be jailed for a long period as they believe he has been tormenting the animals for so long and he could possibly be a threat to the Society.

This is not the first bestiality incident in the country as amongst previously recorded cases was from last year when a 28-year-old man of Dovedale village was caught s3xually assaulting a goat.

There seems to be an especially high number of people who get caught having s3x with animals.

In 2021, 67-year-old man was arrested in Mumbai’s suburban Andheri West for allegedly rap!ng more than 30 stray dogs.

In 2018, three men were convicted of rap!ng farm animals over the course of four to five years in Pennsylvania, United States.

In a truly shocking moment, Will Smith just smacked Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at The Oscars.

Chris was up on stage Sunday presenting for Best Documentary, but before he started naming the nominees he was firing off zingers to the crowd, and eventually landed on Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Chris made a comment about Jada’s shaved head saying he couldn’t wait to see ‘G.I. Jane 2’  which got some groans from the crowd, to which he just sorta shrugged off.

Chris didn’t think he’d crossed a line, but Will clearly did because he stormed the stage and literally socked the dude in the face. A stunned Rock exclaimed, “Wow. Will Smith just smacked the s*** outta me.”
The American broadcast on ABC muted, and even froze, but in other countries it continued … and Will shouted “Keep my wife’s name out your f****** mouth” twice to Chris.

Chris eventually gained his composure again and carried on with handing out the Oscar, but the room was left tense with a sense of unease.

Jada has been public with her alopecia diagnosis for a good while, documenting her struggle with hair loss.
