Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 17th goal of the season to earn Manchester United a point after David de Gea had frustrated Chelsea with several superb saves at Old Trafford.

The visitors were thoroughly dominant in the first half but were unable to find a way past De Gea, who made saves from Kai Havertz and N’Golo Kante.

But Chelsea finally broke the deadlock midway through the second half when Marcos Alonso volleyed home from an angle.

The Blues’ celebrations had barely finished as Manchester United responded within a minute, Nemanja Matic playing a brilliant ball into the box and Ronaldo taking a touch before thumping a shot into the net.

That brought Old Trafford to life – there had been a subdued atmosphere inside the ground up to that point, with discontent against the club’s owners still clear with protests outside for the second home game in succession.

Ronaldo could have secured all three points for the hosts but his effort from a difficult angle was saved by Edouard Mendy.

But the game ended all square as Chelsea edged closer to securing a top-four finish. Thomas Tuchel’s side are third, eight points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham with five games remaining.

Manchester United are sixth, five points behind Arsenal in fourth but having played two games more.

A 45-year-old Hatfield woman was raped at her house by a self-styled prophet after she was offered transport and given fake prophecies.

The woman reported the matter on Tuesday after realising she had been duped.

The victim has since been referred to Edith Clinic for medical examination.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Webster Dzvova, confirmed the case.

“Police are investigating a case involving a Hatfield woman who was raped by a man only identified as TK, on March 20, 2022, at around 12pm,” said Asst Insp Dzvova.

“The complainant was walking along Nirvana Road, Hatfield, when she was approached by the accused person, who was driving a white motor vehicle, yet to be identified.

“Accused person offered a lift to the complainant, since they were going in the same direction, and she agreed.

“Along the way, the accused pretended as if he was a prophet and convinced the complainant to go with him to her residence, so that he could perform some rituals.

“When the two arrived at the complainant’s home, the accused person asked the complainant to spread a white cloth and asked for coarse salt and a cup of water.

“The accused person started to pray by putting some cross signs on the complainant’s legs and hands, using the water.

“The accused person asked the complainant to remove her pants and urinate in the bucket and she complied.

“The accused caressed the complainant and raped her once without protection,” Asst Insp Dzvova said.

He said a number of people were falling prey to these false prophets, either getting raped or being robbed.

Teachers are considering putting in place a committee that will negotiate examiners’ contracts with the Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) as the council has delayed paying marking fees.

Teachers who marked last year‘s Grade seven, Advanced and Ordinary level examinations are yet to be paid with markers claiming that they were promised payment soon after completing the job.

Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) president, Takavafira Zhou accused ZIMSEC of engaging in unfair labour practices. He said:

ZIMSEC is perpetuating cold, callous and calculated labour vandalism that ultimately will affect the credibility of our examination system, as more qualified and experienced examiners may not call for the marking exercise in future due to frustration.

Teachers are workers too, with rights that must be respected by anyone who wants their services. Even the line Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and government must intervene and call ZIMSEC to order.

Teachers are also considering putting in place a committee that should engage ZIMSEC on behalf of markers, and ensure that they are paid their dues by the time they finish marking, as ZIMSEC cannot be trusted to pay teachers timeously once they complete the marking exercise.

Zhou added that delays in paying teachers’ allowances meant that markers would get less than initially agreed considering that inflation is soaring in the country.

Meanwhile, teachers have urged workers across sectors to wear black on Friday to mark the death of the Zimbabwean economy.

Strive Masiyiwa is now the richest black man in Southern Africa, with a net worth surpassing $4.4 billion – dethroning Patrice Motsepe from the position, according to media reports.

Masiyiwa’s new title is thanks to the year-to-date price increase in the shares of his telecom company, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, and his smart-tech company, Cassava Smartech. As of Wednesday, Masyiwa’s net worth had increased from $2.7 billion to $4.4 billion, Billionaires.Africa reported.

Forbes, who have another list, still has Masiyiwa behind Motsepe, but both men have seen their wealth rocket since the start of the year, with Motsepe having topped the list since 2008.

Masiyiwa, 61, recently announced his retirement as chairman and director of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited and still retains his more than 50% stake in the company he listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in 1998.

In response to his announcement, Econet Wireless’ board of directors announced the appointment of Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa, one of Masiyiwa’s six children, to the board of the telecom company to propel the firm’s growth forward as a going concern.

According to the board of directors, Elizabeth’s appointment will bring a wealth of experience, as she has worked in various organisations, spearheading investment and funding programs and human capital development.

The Youtuber has taken a swipe at AKA. In a clip shared by blogger Musa Khawula, Rea alleges that AKA has done every possible thing to tarnish his brand. He went on to mention some of AKA’s scandals that have made headlines over the years.

What’s the worst thing an artist can do at this point of time or kill his girlfriend allegedly. What’s the worst thing you can do beat you girlfriend a** in Ghana allegedly. Or leave your baby mama for this w*tch called Bonang allegedly. You are doing the worst things that you can do. Drugs being linked to your name, whack music,” he claims.

Rea recently made headlines in 2021 after he made shocking allegations against Bonang Matheba. This is after he claimed Bonang allegedly introduced AKA to drugs. He claimed to have obtained this information from radio and TV personality Siyabonga ‘Scoop Makhathini’ Ngwekazi.
Bonang decided to sue for slandering her name, this saw him being slapped with a R500k lawsuit following the startling claims. Bonang’s letter of demand summoned him to post a public apology and pay up R500k for damaging her brand.

As per the letter of demand, Rea posted an apology and retraction on his social media accounts. Bonang eventually won the case and the court ordered Read to pay her a whopping R300 000 for damaging her brand. Mzansi hip-hop star Cassper Nyovest is one hardworking artist, from the day he burst onto the music scene he never let his foot off the gas.

Apart from his obvious love for music, Nyovest is also very fond of cars. The first car that he ever bought was a BMW 4 Series. which he didn’t keep for too long. He replaced it with a Bentley, making him the first rapper in Mzansi to own one.

The following year, after a successful Fill-Up concert Mufasa bought another Bentley, making it two. In his hit-record Tito Mboweni Cassper said, “I got a Bentley and a Bentley Major League with the whips.”

In December 2020 on his 30th birthday, Cassper replaced one of his Bentleys with a newer model. The following year, on his 31st birthday Cassper added a McLaren worth 4.5 million to his collection.

In a video, he shared on social media this afternoon the rapper can be seen suited up leaving his mansion with his driver heading to Daytona in Melrose – the dealership where he bought his luxury cars. Nyovest is seen checking out several cars and rubbing shoulders with prominent business owners in Johannesburg.

He then shows off a new McLaren GT Couple 2022 version worth R5,2 000 000. It is unclear whether or not Cassper bought the car or if he was just checking it out. His fans speculated in his comment section.

It would come as not that big of a surprise if Cassper did buy the car as he recently hosted a successful boxing event at the Sun Arena in Sun City. It is not known just how much did the rapper make on the night but it’s believed to be in the millions.

Cassper has hinted on several occasions that he and Naak will battle it out again in Sun City in the coming months.

In one of the interviews he did, just before the boxing match with Slikour on Life as part of his media tour, the rapper said in recent years he owned SARS millions and had to pay R700K for two consecutive years to the taxman.

“The was a time when I had to pay SARS R700K for two years. If I had one month where I didn’t make a payment they were going to reverse the agreement and still keep whatever I paid and go back to the initial amount. So, literally every single month I’m making R700k or more but I’m left with like R50k for almost two years,” he told Slikour.

Luckily for Cassper, he eventually paid off all the money he owed.

Prominent journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono has dismissed as lies reports that say he received his Boer goats from the ruling ZANU PF after the party reportedly threatened to take the goats saying they gave him the livestock.

One Taurai Kundishaya, a member of the ruling ZANU PF said the project was initiated by the government as a pass-on project in which beneficiaries were supposed to pass goats to other farmers. Said Kundishaya:

This project was meant to be pass on. Government distributed goats to farmers so they breed and pass to others. Hopewell Chin’ono personalised the project. Now it’s time for the youths of Zimbabwe to demand their share. Here are your goats, just go and collect your share. Down with goatlooter no claimed that he was being victimised for being a government critic. He said:

These are the full documents of how I imported my goats from South Africa. These are the import permits stating that I was importing 35 Boer goats from South Africa. They were issued in November/December 2016 & clearly state that I was importing Boer goats from South Africa. The SA Pretoria Chief State Veterinarian who examined the goats and passed them to leave South Africa is Dr Gerald Manyatelo.

All the 35 goats are listed on the Bacteriology form which I have attached here. Attached is the South Africa Customs document at Beitbridge. Certificate of Origin document for the goats when they were leaving South Africa. The goats didn’t pay customs duty on the Zimbabwean side because goats are exempt from paying customs duty. Right is the ZIMRA clearance stamp for the transporter.

Music executive, entrepreneur, and rapper Nota Baloyi accused singer Kelly Khumalo of being “behind” the murder of her then-boyfriend, former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa, via an Instagram Live, which went viral on Twitter on Thursday 28 April.

A Tweep by the handle @thisiscolbert shared a video of Nota Baloyi’s Instagram live which set tongues wagging on Twitter. The music executive ranted about Kelly Khumalo accusing her of being behind the murder of Senzo Meyiwa. Kelly was Senzo’s girlfriend at the time and he was killed at her mom’s home in Vosloorus. The pair have an eight-year-old daughter named Thingo together.

Nota said that seeing Kelly “roam free” has been weighing heavily on his heart for years. He hinted that he knows something. Take a look…

“Killing people in blood sacrifices, well this is what it’s been since the 26 October in 2014 – that faithful Sunday night,” he said.

“This thing has been weighing heavily on my heart for years. I get to see Kelly Khumalo roaming free, knowing what I know. Knowing that this woman is behind the death of this man,” he continued.

What you need to know about the murder of Senzo Meyiwa:

1. Senzo Meyiwa was said to have been killed in an armed robbery at the home of his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mother in Vosloorus on 26 October 2014.
2. Kelly, along with her children Thingo and Christian (who she shares with television host Jub Jub), her mom Ntombi, her sister Zandie, Zandie’s then-boyfriend Longwe Twala and Senzo’s two friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala were in the house when Senzo was killed.
3. Five hitmen – Muzikawukhulelwa S’Tembu Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa and Fisokuhle Ntuli were arrested and charged after being accused of murdering Senzo. The five hitmen are currently on trial.
4. Kelly’s attorney Magdalene Moonsamy was conducting a watching brief at the beginning of the trial, but she was excused from the courtroom on Monday 25 April.
5. A hat and a walking stick was found on the kitchen floor of the crime scene. Advocate Malesela Teffo revealed that the DNA from the hat belonged to a female – during the murder trial of Senzo.
6. Advocate Teffo, who is representing four of the five men accused of killing Senzo, was dramatically and surprisingly arrested on Thursday 28 April. He was reportedly arrested for missing another scheduled court appointment but no official statement has been released.

Taking to Twitter, Musa Khawula spilt the tea as he unmasked the mystery man who has stolen Pearl Modiadie’s heart. He revealed that contrary to what was reported by City Press, Pearl Modiadie was dating Denise Zimba’s brother Kgosi Zimba.

Remember when City Press alleged that Pearl Modiadie is dating Andile Ncube. Well, obviously they lied but I’ll tell you who Pearl Modiadie is dating.

Musa Khawula claims that Kgosi dumped his then-fiancé for Pearl Modiadie. He added that Kgosi attended Denise Zimba’s plush wedding with Pearl after telling his fiance not to attend.

“Kgosi Zimba dumped his fiancé and business partner from Pretoria after they were together for 5 years. Kgosi Zimba advised the fiancé in distraught to not attend Denise Zimba’s wedding coz Pearl was attending The fiancé found out by seeing Kgosi’s tattoos that they were dating,” Musa wrote.

He went on to share a picture which he alleged had Pearl Modiadie and Kgosi Zimba holding hands at Denise’s wedding.

This comes barely a couple of days after Pearl was said to be in a relationship with Young, Famous & African reality star Andile Ncube.

Dating rumours between Andile and Pearl started after the two were spotted having breakfast together at Tasha’s restaurant in Morningside.

According to sources, Andile and Pearl were spotted cuddling and kissing at the restaurant.

The media personality later came out to refute the dating rumours in a statement.

Pearl Modiadie confirmed that she was in a relationship but not with Andile Ncube. Modiadie refused to reveal who she is in a relationship with stating she and her partner have decided to keep their relationship under wraps.

“With regards to the @city_press article regarding my personal life. I am not in a relationship with the said party, I’m in a relationship that my partner and I have decided to keep private. Please also note that I’m merely putting this out as a sign of respect to our families, close friends and to clear this matter, reads the statement.
