– 2 whole artichokes
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 2 cloves garlic, sliced
– salt and pepper to taste

Directions / Instructions

Step 1

Fill the pan with just enough water to cover the bottom. Bring to a full boil over high heat. While water is heating, trim and discards the stems and tough outer leaves of artichokes. Tuck slivers of butter and slices of garlic into artichoke leaves.

Step 2

When water is boiling, place steamer insert in a pot and set artichokes in the steamer, stem-side down. Cover the pot with lid and allow artichokes to steam for approximately 20 minutes, until tender.

This is not the first time, but it appears Zahara is once again on the verge of losing her house. But this time she is reaching out to anyone who is willing to help.

“Even if it’s as little as R100. I’m open for help from anyone!” she pleaded.

A few weeks back, Zahara’s awards were allegedly stolen from her home and now her house is in jeopardy.

Thabo Jama from Tarlton in Mogale City, who recorded Shapapala and Thandaza with Zahara, told the publication they have become good friends since working together and he wants to help his friend.

“I’ve got designer clothes, some that I’ve only worn once. I’ve already started to approach people who own clothing stores to buy these clothes,” he said.

“I met Zahara a few months ago when I invited her to be on my YouTube show. We had a good chat after the interview and I told her I wanted to become a musician. She offered to help me.

We recorded two songs together and we became good friends.”

He said Zahara welcomed everyone to her home.

“When you’re at her house, you don’t feel like a visitor. You feel like you belong there. She deserves all the help she can get,” he said.

“When I wanted to get into music, I approached a lot of people and they all charged me to feature them.

“But Zahara believed in me when no one else did and that’s why I want to help her.”

He said a famous artist like Zahara usually charges a lot of money for a feature but she offered to help him for free.

“She was there when I needed her and I want to be there for her,” he said.

Thabo said he has spoken to Zahara and she thanked him.

“I told her I saw the news and I would like to help her and she thanked me. She said I have a big heart and she is grateful to have a friend like me,” he said.

Zahara told the publication Thabo tried calling her but she couldn’t take his calls.

“We hadn’t spoken extensively about what he wants to do for me. I really appreciate his help,” she said.

She said anybody who is prepared to help can call her on 067 037 1750 and she will let them know how and where they can send donations.

* white sugar, for rimming
* 2 large limes, quartered
* ½ bunch of mint leaves
* 7 strawberries, quartered
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 cup white rum
* 2 cups of club soda
* 8 cups of ice cubes

Directions / Instructions

Step 1

Pour 1/4 to 1/2 inch of sugar onto a small, shallow plate. Run one of the lime quarters around the rim of each cocktail glass, then dip the glasses into the sugar rim; set aside.

Step 2

Squeeze all of the lime quarters into a sturdy glass pitcher. Toss the juiced limes into the pitcher along with the mint, strawberries, and 1 cup of sugar. Crush the fruits together with a muddler to release the juices from the strawberries and the oil from the mint leaves. Stir in the rum and club soda until the sugar has dissolved. Pour into the sugared glasses over ice cubes to serve.

Mzansi people on social media have expressed confusion over Zimbabwe’s policies after Mohale Motaung’s visit. Mohale’s visit comes barely six months after his estranged husband Somizi “Somgaga” Mhlongo was banned from entering the country because he is gay.

Mohale appears to be living his best life in Zimbabwe, and he has been gallivanting across the country on a solo vacation.

While many were happy to see him enjoying himself, some South Africans questioned how he had been allowed to enter the country.

They alleged that Zimbabwe was being discriminatory as it had banned Somizi from entering the country last year.

Noting the difference in the treatment of Mohale and Somizi, here is how some South Africans reacted:

He was unable to fulfil this commitment after he was banned after Zanu PF party youths and a group of churches blocked the visit claiming Somizi would corrupt the morals of Zimbabweans.

However, it’s not clear if Somizi was banned due to a government directive or if event organisers pulled out in fear of retribution or boycott.

Asparagus, ham, and cheese are stuffed into chicken breasts and served on top of cheesy tomatoes and rice.

Ingredients:

– 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
– 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, or more as needed
– 1 cup chopped fresh asparagus
– ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
– salt and ground black pepper to taste
– 4 slices of deli ham
– ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
– 2 tablespoons butter, divided
– 2 cups chicken broth
– 1 tablespoon of butter
– 1 cup uncooked white rice
– 1 (14.5 ounces) can of diced tomatoes with onion and celery, drained
– ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste

Directions / Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2

Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of heavy plastic (resealable freezer bags work well) on a solid, level surface. Firmly pound the chicken with the smooth side of a meat mallet to a thickness of 1/4 inch.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, and cook and stir the asparagus, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper just until the asparagus is bright green and beginning to become tender about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 4

Lay each chicken breast out onto a work surface, and place a slice of ham on the flattened breast. Place 1/4 of the asparagus mixture over the ham, and top with 1/4 of the Cheddar cheese. Roll the chicken breast around the filling and secure with toothpicks or tie with cotton kitchen string; place the stuffed breasts into a 9×13-inch baking dish, seam sides down. Top each breast with about 1/2 tablespoon of butter.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink and the juices run clear 30 to 40 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the centre of a stuffed breast should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Baste the stuffed chicken breasts occasionally with pan juices while baking.

Step 6

While chicken is baking, bring chicken broth and 1 tablespoon of butter to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in rice and tomatoes, reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook the rice until tender and the broth has been absorbed about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, and let rice stand covered for about 5 minutes; stir in Parmesan cheese. Serve stuffed chicken breasts on the cooked rice.

Fantan was nabbed after his wife, Gamuchirai Nemukunyu, lodged a complaint with the police. National Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest.

“Yes, DJ Fantan has been arrested over domestic violence and is in police custody,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.

Gamu confirmed the developments to H-Metro last night.

Gamu claimed the Chillspot Records co-proprietor assaulted her and damaged their household property.

“I have suffered enough at the hands of this man. He has been assaulting me, abusing me, destroying our property and I think it’s high time justice takes its course.

“I am at Waterfalls Police at the moment and he has since been detained. They have locked him up. I am not aware of the procedures, regarding when we are going to appear in court.

“But that is my wish because I want him to be stopped from abusing me,” Gamu told H-Metro last night.

Gamu added that she has been suffering emotionally at the hands of Fantan.

She said Fantan ‘locks’ her in the house arguing that she should be a ‘house wife’.

“He doesn’t want me to do my own things, arguing that I should be the house wife only responsible for household chores.

“This is despite the fact that he doesn’t give me money. I have suffered emotional and economic abuse. So, when I challenge all this, he becomes violent, abusing me and destroying property,” she said.

A close family friend told H-Metro that Gamu lodged a complaint a couple days ago and Fantan has been on the run.

“Gamu lodged a complaint some days back.

“The police have been saying they are failing to locate him despite him appearing in public. Fantan used to lock up his wife in the house, assault her and damage property.

“So the police finally acted and he has been detained at Waterfalls Police Station today (yesterday).”

The allegations against Fantan, real name Arnold Kamudyariwa, come despite his involvement in an anti-domestic violence campaign in Mbare.

Fantan went public, condemning domestic violence, urging couples to co-exist peacefully.

Lebohang Quiteria Kekana will be remembered in a tribute show. The star died on the 17th of April after a long battle with cancer at the age of 38.

Titled Kings and Queens of Baobab, the fashion show will feature 50 pieces of his collection and will take place on May 13 at the Polokwane Cricket Club in Limpopo.

However, his former partner George Malelu is expected to host the tribute show. According to Quiteria’s family, his life will be honoured in a 50-piece collection.

Social media is divided over the deliberate act that could have resulted in serious injuries to the cameraman who luckily escaped injury by a whisker after he was caught by fans from falling.

In a disturbing 5 second video that has been making the rounds on social media, AKA can be seen pushing a man holding a camera off stage. He immediately starts dancing, attracting people to concentrate on him without thinking twice about his drastic act. He continues dancing despite seeing his cameraman frantically trying to avoid falling over. The cameraman luckily gets saved from falling offstage by AKA’s fans.

Brenda recently dumped the show following reports that she apparently choking a producer on set. According to a report on Sunday World, everyone on set was shocked at the incident, and the producer called for help.

When asked why she apparently choked the producer, Brenda said “she got caught up in her character and the dlozi took over.” The alleged toxic working environment on Imbewu were exposed by a source. Apparently things are bad at the production since a new management took over. It is reported that some employees are taking antidepressants because they cannot cope.

South African media personality Somizi Mhlongo addressed his colleague Unathi Nkayi “cancelling” him on the latest episode of his reality series which aired on Showmax today (11 May).

Somizi addressed former Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi cancelling him back in October 2021 on the latest episode of his reality series – Living the Dream with Somizi. Unathi posted that she will not allow people to listen to American singer R Kelly because he was convicted of s.e.xual abuse.

An Instagrammer called her out for having double standards because she is friends with DJ Fresh and Euphonik who were accused of rape and Somizi, because of the abuse allegations made against him by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung. However, she said she was not friends with Somizi.

“Who said they are my friends?” She responded and she unfollowed Somizi.

At the time, the media personality was suspended from Idols SA as well as his radio gig on Metro FM because of the abuse allegations. Tweeps also called for Somizi to be cancelled but he has been reinstated as a judge on the singing competition for the 18th season.

So, how did Somizi feel about Unathi? Well, he said that he felt shocked and disappointed in a conversation with his “bestie” Vusi Nova. He and Vusi did not mention Unathi’s name but they shared screenshots of the comments on her Instagram page, which shows her user name.

“What’s happening with a certain lady?” Vusi asks Somizi.

“Honestly, I was shocked, I was disappointed but it is what it is. Sometimes when people show you who they are, you leave them,” he responded.

“Someone that I thought we were okay with went public,” he continued.

“The devil does not want to see me prosper. This day has been a day and a half,” he added.

Somizi went on to say that he never wants to speak to her again. He added that she must not even look at him.

“If I have to go work with her, in the same space with her. It’s not in my nature to say its either me or somebody else. I’m not going to take bread away from somebody who feeds her kids and family and stuff. I’m going to make sure my space and peace is protected, one. I never want to talk to her again, I never want to speak to her again,” he said.

“I will be professional. Being professional doesn’t mean that when she says something I must agree with her… but I’m going to make it clear before I even start that this person must never even look at me,” he continued.

Government through its department of social development has responded to social media commentary about Kelly Khumalo and Jub Jub’s son, hailing the move as morally “wrong” and “illegal”…

Their comment comes after allegations made on Twitter that the 11-year-old boy was reportedly expelled from school. This, after he had allegedly brought marijuana to school from home.

Posting a tweet on their official Twitter account, the department tweeted: “It is wrong to name and identify children in distressed situations. Let us do better to protect all children”

Celebrity gossip blogger Musa Khawula made the allegations on Twitter.

On Tuesday, the notorious blogger tweeted: “Kelly Khumalo’s son allegedly expelled from his school for bringing marijuana to school.

“It is said he stole it from Kelly Khumalo’s boyfriend Mthokozisi Yende”. Whilst Musa did not name Kelly’s son, he did tweet a picture of the young boy.

Later that day, celebrity YouTuber Slik Talk also ran with the allegations, chastising Kelly Khumalo for being a “poor mother”.

In addition, tweeps called on Jub Jub, to seek full custody of his son he shares with the singer.

The department of social development’s tweet attracted a variety of responses from the public.

However, some tweeps questioned why this particular tasking was made public.

One tweep posted: “Quite interesting that you intervene when Kelly Khumalo’s name is in the mix. She must be highly regarded in exclusive circles”.

The department responded: “We can name a few cases for you where we intervened when a child was in distress here. We have traveled to CPT to follow up on cases we regularly get here. Children are children as long as they are within our borders and regardless of nationality. They have the same rights”.

Amapiano vocalist, Lady Du’s father, DJ Choc has publicly apologized to his daughter after calling her out.

DJ Choc shared a video of himself swearing at his daughter and it went viral.

It started after Lady Du allegedly lied about her upbringing which resulted in her father getting angry with her.

However, the star’s father admitted to being wrong and said he regretted venting out about his family matters in public.

Dj Choc released a statement saying: “I would like to sincerely apologize for the video of me discussing my daughter, Lady Du”
