Bonang Matheba gets mocked for reducing her standard because of money. A Twitter user claimed the media personality who is one of the highly respected women in the South African entertainment industry has started accepting small jobs.

“So Bonang is accepting small gigs now,” the tweep wrote. Queen B saw the tweet and curiously asked what the tweep meant. No one explained to the star as other tweeps reacted with laughing emojis, though someone wrote “pandemic”.

It is assumed that the person is trying to fault the 2020/2021 pandemic. The pandemic might have caused Queen B to reduce her standard by accepting anything that comes her way.

Radio personality Dineo Ranaka is reportedly being sued for R500 000 by the father of her child and estranged husband Klaas Pesha over abuse allegations.

This is after the TV producer alleged on her Whatsapp status and in an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG that Pesha assaulted her in one of their domestic squabbles at their Tshwane matrimonial home last year.

A local publication has revealed that media icon Dineo Ranaka’s pending divorce from her estranged husband Klaas James Pesha has taken an ugly turn after he sued her with R500 000.

The publication also adds that Ranaka posted on her Whatsapp statuses that Pesha had assaulted her and said the incident happened seven months after they tied the knot.

Her estranged husband who’s a businessman and engineer has rubbished Ranaka’s claims and wants her to retract the allegations and apologize to him as the abuse allegations have damaged his reputation.

He reportedly filed papers in the Johannesburg High Court last week which reveals that Ranaka posted several Whatsapp statuses on 14 October last year where she claimed she would rather file for divorce than be abused.

“I would rather have a divorce decree than (sic) a premature death certificate. I cannot believe I married a man who has the full capability of killing me and making my death look like it’s my own doing.”

According to the publication, Ranaka made the statements knowing they were false because he was never arrested and charged for assaulting her.

He said his lawyers wrote a letter of demand to Ranaka on October 14 last year and ordered her to retract her status and apologize to him, but she refused. This, he said, left him with no choice but to approach the court for relief.

The mother of three shocked Mzansi in April of this year when she revealed she was beaten up by her ex-husband Klass Pesha on an episode of Podcast And Chill and also announced she married Pesha in January 2020.

It is believed Ranaka wanted to open a case of assault against Pesha but he threatened to press a countercharge.

“Upon the SAPS wanting to arrest the plaintiff, the plaintiff threatened to lay a criminal charge against the defendant in retaliation, with the effect that the defendant would be arrested and be prevented from caring for the parties’ small baby,” she said.

The media personality said she bit him on his arm in self-defence and has asked the court to dismiss Pesha’s application with costs.

Uzalo actress Thuthuka Mthembu has managed to win the hearts of Mzansi TV viewers. Judging from the comments she often receives after posting photos on social media, the star is one of Mzansi’s favourite stars.

But as much as fans love her, she has made it clear that there should be a limit or rules on how they celebrate her.

Thuthuka, who plays Nonkanyiso on the soapie, said some fans went as far as kissing her on the mouth, which made her uncomfortable.

“I love my fans deeply. But sometimes they put me in an uncomfortable position. There are different incidents where some of them go as far as kissing me on the mouth. For me, this is not right,” said Thuthuka.

The actress added that she did not reprimand her fans whenever they kissed her because she was afraid they would be disappointed.

“Being celebrated is hard. And people are sensitive towards celebrities. It is easy for them to judge us. To them, it’s like we are living in another planet. Imagine telling an excited person to stop what they are doing? That would be interpreted as rude or arrogant. That’s what I sometimes go through. I have to smile and pretend that everything is fine, whereas it’s the opposite.”

Thuthuka said a hug was fine, but a kiss was a big no-no.

“I think fans must be taught how to treat celebrities. I don’t know who should teach them. But they must know that celebrities have rules and feelings as well. I know that without my fans, I’m nothing. I regard them as my bosses. But they must know that we must treat each other in a respectful way,” she added.

Mzansi’s controversial dancer, Zodwa Wabantu’s fans might have to say goodbye to her for a while. The entertainer from Soweto told the publication she was waiting for confirmation from her ancestors as to whether she should continue performing or become a healer.

The 36-year-old, whose real name is Zodwa Libram, spoke up after several people complained about her not pitching up for gigs.

Zodwa has recently been sharing her journey into spirituality through her Instagram account.

She said she had to miss some events because her ancestors demanded her attention from time to time.

“They demand a lot of things from me. They always show me the good and the bad of this world, and I sometimes miss off-ramps on my way to venues as they will be protecting me from something,” she said.

Zodwa said when she told event organizers about this, some of them didn’t believe her. She said her ancestors had taken over and she was now a different person. “I’ve been missing events and people have been paying me for bookings, so now I have to refund them. I don’t want to be that person.”

Zodwa said if her ancestors wanted her off the stage, she would listen.

She said they had been giving her many signs.

Kaya 959’s breakfast show hosts Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe were allegedly fired by the station for being off-target. The comedian and seasoned broadcaster will present their last show at the end of June according to a Sunday World article and sources from the station.

According to Sunday World, Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe have reportedly been fired as Kaya 959’s breakfast show hosts as part of their brand repositioning strategy to grow listenership and advertising revenue.

Negotiations over whether their contracts should be renewed are underway and word has it the station is talking to the host of a show at a rival station to take over the prime time slot.

Sources from the Johannesburg-based station told the tabloid that Hlophe and Msengana were removed from the show because the ratings have dropped drastically and the show has struggled to attract advertising.

“The show is popular to the listeners we don’t target. The show is not appealing to an Afropolitan listener who is being targeted by the advertisers. So, there is misalignment between listeners that the show attracts and the advertisers.”

The source added that Msengana, who was working on the daytime show before teaming up with Hlophe for the breakfast show, was just collateral damage.

“Skhumba was supposed to be the only one gone as he is not radio material.” Kaya FM publicity officer Helga Klizanie couldn’t deny nor confirm the removal of Hlophe and Msengana.

“As a competitive business, we proactively assess our business position from time to time, if our assessments point to any required shifts in the line-up, we will hold engagements with the affected talent, and any announcements to the public will be made when the time is right.”

Msengana’s ex-wife Unathi Nkayi was also fired by the station back in 17 November after an altercation with radio personality Sizwe Dhlomo. Unathi reportedly claimed Sizwe verbally abused her but he leaked audio clips that proved otherwise.

ZANU-PF has distanced itself from reports that it’s orchestrated the killing of the Citizens for Coalition Change activist, Moreblessing Ali. Ali’s mutilated body has been found after she went missing last month.

The opposition has called for an independent investigation following this horrific incident. The gruesome killing of Ali comes as political temperature is rising ahead of next year’s elections.

South African musical artist, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo and his family have disowned each other. This comes after his mum Zama Gumede and his sister, Pinki Gumede, recently complained to the publication that they were not paid for appearing on season one of his reality show Uthando Lodumo.

Zama was allegedly paid R10000 for season two and Pinki R5000.

“I’ll no longer participate in this show unless they give me my money,” Zama told the SunTeam.

After the two spoke out, Mampintsha allegedly phoned his family members and disowned them.

Zama said: “He called and accused me of bad-mouthing him to Showmax and the producers. He’s angry that I exposed him. He said he wants nothing to do with us because we’re jealous of his success.

“I don’t care because he doesn’t buy me anything.

“I survive through piece jobs. I’m therefore asking Showmax to delete all the episodes that show my face.”

Pinki said Mampintsha insulted them and said they brought him bad luck.

“He said we are jealous and trying to bring him down. He said he doesn’t need us because this is his project. We are seeking legal advice to demand our money from Showmax,” she said.

MultiChoice executive head for programming, Nomsa Philiso, said Showmax could not intervene in the relationships between family members.

“Parental Advisory Productions is producing Uthando Lodumo, and we respect that the relationship between cast and production companies is subject to the agreements between them.”

Mampintsha didn’t answer his phone or reply to text messages at the time of going to print.

South African actors Stephanie and Hungani Ndlovu have opened up about their miscarriage in their new YouTube video.

The couple revealed they were expecting their first child but unfortunately miscarried at eight weeks.

The couple said it was the worst experience ever.

Taking to their YouTube channel The Ndlovus Uncut, Steph took a pregnancy test and it came back positive.

She had set up a hidden camera so she could surprise her husband.

Stephanie said out of excitement, that she had already started recording her first session/ scan at the doctors for her husband who couldn’t be in with her when she received the bad news. She said she was diagnosed with a blighted ovum.

“She literally did the scan and then she said I’m sorry there’s no embryo. She said I should take a moment I did not, I jumped off the bed I did not cry… nothing and I said nope I’m good. What do we do now? That’s sort of my coping mechanisms and strategies in life”

Steph then said the next steps would be that I would have had a D&C which is to go in surgery and sort of clean out the uterus and stuff but because it there was Covid-19 and those risks involved, the gynecologist recommended that I do the cleaning out at home using the medication.”

She said her husband was traumatized by what he saw her go through two years ago.

“I don’t think the gynae did a substantial job in explaining the experience you would have with this medication because I think one would’ve opted for the D&C regardless of even if it’s Covid-19 or not, said Hungani.

Refilwe Modiselle has taken to her social media to reveal that she has been declining all the interview requests on albinism awareness day. Today is International Albinism Awareness Day 2022 and the star is known to be an advocate for albinism.

On several occasions, she has shared her experience as an albino and she has spoken against being called an “albino”, as it’s a derogatory term.

Taking to Twitter, Refilwe said she had numerous requests for interviews on albinism awareness day and she is going to keep declining them.

She said she is angry about the fact that her accomplishments & the work have not been respected and relevant not until this time.

It all started after he was spotted wearing a Balaclava during a show at Konka in Soweto.
Sjava’s Balaclava outfit brought so many reactions on Twitter after one of his followers compared him to Kanye West because of his outfit.

Mzansi actress Palesa Madisakwane appears to slam her “baby daddy” media personality Somizi Mhlongo on the latest episode of his reality show which aired on Wednesday 8 June.

Palesa Madisakane has 26-year-old Bahumi with Somizi Mhlongo. She previously revealed that he did not pay damages for Bahumi. So, Bahumi was given her mom’s surname.

In a preview for the next episode, Palesa tells Somizi he disrespected her womb. Although it is unclear what happened between the pair, it is likely to be about Bahumi’s surname. This is because Palesa questions why Somizi has not done what he was supposed to as yet.

“I should have completed everything by now,” he says

“But why didn’t you finish doing everything,” she asks.

“I don’t have the time, which is wrong,” he responded.

“Now I’m asking myself… whether Somizi is serious. He has to be clear on whether he’s in or out whether he’s going forward or in reverse, he shouldn’t tell me tales,” she responded.

“This person is not only disrespecting my family but I felt like you disrespected my womb,” she continued.

Somizi went on to say that he does not like serious conversations.

The conversation is likely to be in relation to Bahumi wanting to change her surname. She wants to take on Somizi’s surname – Mhlongo but Palesa’s family said that the proper traditional procedures need to happen first.

“If she wants to change her surname to Mhlongo, she is an Mhlongo at the end of the day. There is nothing I can do, but I am just worried (about) what my dad will say. My father always says that there are steps that need to be taken,” said Palesa on a previous episode.

“It’s not about money, it’s just about certain things to be corrected so that we can give her our blessings,” she continued.

She added that Bahumi’s uncles are like fathers to her.
