Traditional healer and reality TV star Makgotso Lee-Anne Makgopo, better known as Gogo Maweni, has topped the Twitter trends list after her interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG aired yesterday. The sangoma got candid about her love life, the pets she owns, and her children. Gogo Maweni admitted that she owns the weirdest and most bizarre animals.

“My house is full of snakes, we have 5 snakes, one owl, two rabbits and we have two tortoises and three beautiful dogs,” she said.

Gogo Maweni slammed those who say she practices witchcraft with the snakes. People typically allege that snakes are used for dark magic or to accumulate wealth in African culture, but Gogo Maweni has cleared her name.

“I don’t use these animals for anything. I love animals,” she said. She went on to clarify the process of Ukuthwala saying that ” If uthwele with something, another person can’t see it( the snake) with their naked eyes. If ngithwele ngenyoka, you cannot see it, but I can see it, because it’s mine,” she added.

Gogo Maweni went on to reveal that she once took her snake to the doctor because it had flue. She said after she posted the video online it gained traction and people had mixed reactions. Gogo Maweni says she has a Doctorate in Traditional Medicine, she accumulated from uMhlab’uhlangene University which is in Durban, KZN.

Mzansi actors Clement Maosa and Natasha Thahane are no longer in good books and do not talk to each other anymore, despite having been together on the popular SABC 1 series Skeem Saam.

The two talented entertainers are arguably some of the most liked people on South African television. They were once simultaneously part of the cast of Skeem Saam for 18 months before Natasha left for The Queen in July 2016.

Natasha Thahane even posted a video of her and Clement dancing years back, which she has since deleted. Skeem Saam’s Zamokuhle has revealed that he is no longer talking to Natasha.

Clement Maosa, a qualified lawyer, was a guest on MacG’s Podcast And Chill in an episode that premiered on 23 June 2022. During a “One Must Go” game, he picked Natasha Thahane to go.

The 34-year-old actor was asked about Natasha’s R1 million scandal and he responded:

Urgh hey nah hololo I don’t know. But I know that I’m blocked somewhere on social media. Coz I woke up one day and I’m like hey, I don’t know what’s happening. But I think there’s a good reason for that.

She’s still my sister because I support most of her work. So we cool. It’s just that maybe she was just going through whatever she was going through. I think around that time there was a lot of clout and people saying this and that. So maybe that’s why she decided to just keep her peace.

His real name is Presley Chweneyagae. He was born on October 19 1984 in the North West Province Mafikeng, South Africa. He is a South African actor of Tswana origin.

Some publications have reported that his mother, Agnes Keagile named him after her favourite singer, Elvis Presley.

The actor is married and is blessed with two boys. He is really one of Mzansi’s celebrities who keep their personal lives very private.

Acting Career

Presley went to a drama school owned by Mpumelelo Paul Grootboom, a stage director and playwriter.

When he was still a teenager, he was doing theater roles before getting a lead role in Tsotsi a 2005 movie.

He has been in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years now.

His most recent role is on the South African telenovela, The River as Thuso “Cobra” Mokoena.

The Royal AM Football Club chair and his friend Shaun appeared to be having fun at Saturday’s glamorous DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards (DStv MVCA) event.

However, eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Tamia did not appear to be fitting in. She seemed more like a third wheel who was interfering while the boys were having fun.

Andile and Shaun appeared carefree as they danced in a coordinated way. Tamia, on the other hand, appeared to be trying hard to fit in as she tried to synchronize with the pair’s dancing routine.

AKA calls out Elon Musk to help with the load shedding problem in South Africa. The billionaire businessman has been called out severally by South Africans as many perceive him as a brother and part of them since he was born in SA.

Knowing that he’s highly influential and rich, the exhausted rapper tagged Elon on a few tweets shared after Eskom implemented stage 6 load shedding.

“Excuse me sir … @elonmusk … I cannot for the life of me understand why the government hasn’t approached you to come help us out with this electricity crisis but is there any chance you could perhaps do us a solid, you know, with you being born here and all,” the rapper tweeted.

Grammy-Award-winning DJ, Black Coffee was dragged by Nota Baloyi, AKA The Authority over an old clip shared on social media. The music executive topped the trends list when he responded to the old clip taken from an interview on Zulu Man With Some Power Podcast, with Nasty C and Scoop Makhathini.

In the clip, Black Coffee said he would not want to be managed by a man like Nota. It is believed Nota managed Kwesta during their heydays but had a fallout when Rap Lyfe fell apart.

The trio was talking about the business side of the music industry and how they want to keep a clean stable because if there is one person who is bad, the rest of the team gets placed in the same basket.

Nasty C first commented and said, “Sometimes you learn the hard way. The messed up thing is that when there’s that one messed up Apple, people look at you guys as ‘we don’t want to work with them.’ I would say that, luckily for me, and I took these as hints. A lot of the people came up to me and said – is there anyone else we can talk to? And then I started to pick up the problem.”

Black Coffee added his own thoughts on this and said he likes to be hands on in things even though he has the best team which he trusts.

“It’s really tough, even if the structure is there. It’s all up here (points to the mind). One of the things I feel like I always made a mistake on; you build a team, and this is something I had never done until they told me. Something I didn’t do that much is how involved I am in my business now because I knew I had the best people. Now, moving forward, if you are going to send any e-mail that has my name cc me in. That’s all because I am the business.”

He then had to use Nota as an example and said he would not like to be managed by a man like him, “I’m going to mention names right now. Look at this guy, he calls himself the authority,” mentioned Black Coffee and Nasty and Scoop Makhathini laughed. “I look at him as a person and I wouldn’t want to be managed by a guy like that,” added Nathi.

“You can get a guy like that to manage you but you are not aware of his persona. And you give him your entire brand and you don’t know the conversations. You don’t know how he’s treating your clients and everyone who’s making you money. I’m saying these are the mistakes we make.”

Controversial Twitter blogger Musa Khawula re-shared this old interview from 2020 and it gained the attention of Nota. The Authority as he calls himself, poked fun at Black Coffee’s disability and said he should rather just focus on his hand.

Disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday for leading a decades-long effort to recruit and trap teenagers and women for s.e.x.

Judge Ann Donnelly handed down the term in the Brooklyn federal court nearly a year after the 55-year-old Kelly was convicted by a New York jury.

“The verdict is in: R. Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years,” the US attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York said in a tweet.

The prosecutors had urged the court to put the “I Believe I Can Fly” artist behind bars for at least 25 years, saying he still “poses a serious danger to the public.”

In September, the fallen superstar was found guilty on all nine charges he faced, including the most serious of racketeering.

“His actions were brazen, manipulative, controlling, and coercive. He has shown no remorse or respect for the law,” prosecutors wrote in their sentencing memo.

Kelly’s lawyers called for a lighter sentence with a maximum of approximately 17 years.

The sentence comes just over a month before jury selection is due to start in Kelly’s separate, long-delayed federal trial in Chicago on August 15.

In that case, Kelly and two of his former associates are alleged to have rigged the singer’s 2008 p0rn0graphy trial and hid years of s.e.xual abuse of minors.

The musician who once dominated R&B also faces prosecution in two other state jurisdictions.

#MeToo milestone

Kelly’s conviction in New York was widely seen as a milestone for the #MeToo movement: It was the first major s.e.x abuse trial where the majority of accusers were Black women.

It was also the first time Kelly faced criminal consequences for the abuse he for decades was rumored to have inflicted on women and children.

Prosecutors were tasked with proving Kelly guilty of racketeering, a federal charge commonly associated with organized crime syndicates that depicted Kelly as the boss of an enterprise of associates who facilitated his abuse.

Calling 45 witnesses including 11 alleged victims to the stand, they painstakingly presented a pattern of crimes they say the artist-born Robert Sylvester Kelly carried out for years with impunity, capitalizing on his fame to prey on the less powerful.

To convict Kelly of racketeering, jurors had to find him guilty of at least two of 14 “predicate acts” — the crimes elemental to the wider pattern of illegal wrongdoing.

Lurid testimony intended to prove those acts included accusations of rape, druggings, imprisonment, and child pornography.

His accusers described events that often mirrored one another: Many of the alleged victims said they had met the singer at concerts or mall performances and were then handed slips of paper with Kelly’s contact details by members of his entourage.

Several said they were told he could bolster their music industry aspirations.

But prosecutors argued all were instead “indoctrinated” into Kelly’s world — groomed for sex at his whim and kept in line by “coercive means of control,” including isolation and cruel disciplinary measures, recordings of which were played for the jury.

Core to the state’s case was Kelly’s relationship with the late singer Aaliyah.

Kelly wrote and produced her first album — “Age Ain’t Nothin’ But A Number” — before illegally marrying her when she was just 15 because he feared he had impregnated her.

His former manager admitted in court to bribing a worker to obtain fake identification allowing the union, which was later annulled.

Actress Sonia Mbele survived food poisoning after she consumed seafood last week and she was immediately admitted to the hospital after she felt excruciating pain. According to Sunday World. the star is recovering at home after being discharged from the health center.

For over 5 years Sonia has been a pescatarian (a person who does not eat meat but does eat fish) – She said the food that led to the food poisoning was bought at a take-away food outlet in Morningside, Sandton.

However, she didn’t fault the food outlet. I can’t blame the restaurant. I bought the food to eat and kept some for later and forgot to warm it up. I immediately got sick, started throwing up,” said Sonia, noting that the incident freaked her out.”

The food poisoning scared the actress, but she’s getting better at home.

Sonia is still weak and spends most of her time resting; the incident is assumed to have caused her inactiveness on Instagram. I should be ready and fully fit next week, I had to cancel all my meetings last week,” she added.

On this day, 30 June, 26 years ago, a Queen was born and given the name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, who has done wonders in the Mzansi entertainment industry and is now popularly known by her stage name, Makhadzi.

She was born and raised in Ha-Mashamba, an area located in the Limpopo Province. What makes her so amazing, is how her career started at the age of 13. She garnered local attention after her single “Tshanda Vhuya” was released in 2017.

Since then, she has been nailing it and producing hit after hit and she is best known for her songs “Themba muthu” and “Matorokisi“.
