South African Reality TV star Nonkanyiso Conco famously known as LaConco had fans in disbelief after she posted something suggesting that she and former president Zuma are still an item.

Taking to her Instagram page, LaConco posted that her baby daddy gifted her with a grey gown to chase away the winter cold. Taking a selfie of her wearing the grey gown, LaConco said, “Even the small gestures need to be thanked, and the big ones as well. Thank you baby daddy for this gown.”

Now she never mentioned any names but the entrepreneur has only one child with former president Jacob Zuma.

Here is how Tweeps reacted:

Three months ago for his 80th birthday, LaConco gused over Jacob Zuma in a sweet post dedicated to him.

“2 April a date that will forever be a celebration of my treasures. Happiest birthday babakhe and Sakhaumuzi. Zuma, Nina baka Lugaju kaMantomela kaShisa, Mashingizela ashiye impi yakhe, [clan names],” she tweeted.

Now this sweet message was met with a lot of mixed reactions and raised a lot of questions.

She even attended her 80th birthday.

But she clarified how their relationship is on an episode of #RHODurban, “The position I am in… I found love and I stayed true to that love. But unfortunately, there were people who had an interest in that love and made it a public thing when it was not my intention.”

“No one gets into a relationship, especially if you are young, to face circumstances that I went through. I had to come to a point where I had to accept the situation and these are the circumstances. Okay this is it,” she said.

She even did reveal that she is dating but refers to her man as Petal In an episode of RHOD, Petal delivered flowers for her and LaConco even revealed that Petal had just purchased a yacht.

When the cast mate Jojo Robinson said LaConco is lying she went on IG live and set the record straight, “They have been digging information about me. I don’t know if it’s my character but my siblings often say that they are glad that I don’t have any scandals because people would have been talking about them.”

Zimbabwe’s Chief Fortune Charumbira has been elected new President of the African Parliament. The African legislative arm of the African Union is holding an ordinary session at its South Africa base in Midrand this week, where elections of the new leadership has taken centre stage, causing a stir among delegates all pushing for their candidates to secure the top job.

Charumbira, also President of Zimbabwe’s Chief’s Council, had faced stiff challenges from South Sudan MP Albino Aboug and Malawi’s Yeremiah Chihana. Fortune Charumbira is a traditional leader in Zimbabwe and the current President of the Chief’s Council.

– In October 2018, Fortune Charumbira was elected unopposed as vice president of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) Bureau, representing the Southern African Region.

– He is married to Priscila Charumbira, and together, they have five daughters.

Charumbira was the SADC’s sole candidate for the Pan African Parliament presidency.

– Charumbira, who occupies a seat in Zimbabwe’s senate reserved for traditional chiefs, secured 161 votes with 31 abstentions and 11 spoilt votes, writes ZimLive.com.

– In October 2017, Opposition parties blasted Chief Charumbira for allegedly pledging his support for former president Robert Mugabe.
In 2018, a Zimbabwe High Court ruled that his comments publicly supporting Zanu PF were unconstitutional as chiefs are required to be neutral. He was subsequently instructed to retract his comments.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa says he is no longer free

President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday says he no longer enjoyed public life because he was always surrounded by more than 100 security personnel.

Addressing businesspeople at the official opening of the Highlands Park Shopping Mall in Highlands, Harare, constructed by Telecel Africa, Mnangagwa said: “I have not been in a village walk or to take a walk for some time because I am surrounded by over 100 security details. I don’t know even how to use a swipe card. I even sent my nephew to swipe for me and he had to ask me to give him my PIN code,” he said.

The shopping mall has retail shops and medical centres, among other entities. Security was visibly tight at park, as well as in surrounding areas such as Newlands.

Mnangagwa addressed another crowd in Manyame, after commissioning the Mount Meru Millers Zimbabwe edible oil refinery plant.

The business event turned into a rally as bussed Zanu-PF supporters and students from Mashonaland East province were bussed to the venue chanting party slogans.

Residents said Zanu-PF councillors had ordered them to attend the event, saying they were targeting a crowd of 20 000 people.

Addressing the crowd, Mnangagwa narrated what he described as achievements by his government in Mashonaland East, urging villagers to ensure they vote for the ruling Zanu-PF party in next year’s polls.

“I am honoured to be back here in Mashonaland East to officially commission the Edible Oil Refinery Plant valued at US$20 million. Today’s visit follows the recent commissioning of the Central Registry e-passport office in Murehwa, as well as Radnor Mine in Mukuya, Mudzi district. To date, other notable projects have been completed under the second republic such as Muchekeranwa Dam, Mutoko Royal Fruit and Vegetables Processing Plant, along with road, health and education infrastructure across the various districts of the country,” Mnangagwa said.

“This factory will grow and when it grows it will be employing over 1000 people. Those of you from this area will get jobs and get satisfied. You no longer need to go to Harare for jobs. The company makes cooking oil which we usually get from outside. We want you to grow sunflower, cotton and soya beans. That is what is needed here. When we distribute inputs under Pfumvudza, I will make sure that we have a fund for those crops.”

Mnangagwa said the new plant would produce 250 tonnes of edible soya oil per day and help increase the supply of edible oils in the local market, thereby supporting the Buy Zimbabwe campaign.

“The by-products of edible oil production such as soya meal, cotton meal and sunflower meal are used in the production of stock feed, soya milk, textured vegetable protein products, cosmetics and health supplements among others. There will be cosmetics to apply on the skin. Women can use them to enhance their beauty,” he said.

Mnangagwa said he had convinced the Mount Meru Millers Group president Atul Mittal to come and invest in Zimbabwe at a business Forum in the United Arab Emirates in
2019.

“There were a lot of white people. I spoke with them and in my mind I was saying, ‘can they hear (understand me)?’ They were just quiet. One man (Mittal) then said to me, ‘what you said impressed me and I want to pay you a visit’. He then came and said as a family they have many businesses in 14 countries. I said to him we have a policy of establishing factories in rural areas. He came at the beginning of this year in Chief Seke’s area. Aaah, I had forgotten to greet chiefs, how are you,” he said, while encouraging more investors to come to Zimbabwe.

Mittal said his company is committed to supporting the Manyame Rural District Council and its people. He pledged to feed pupils in the surrounding schools.

“We are currently working at 3% production capacity, but we are hoping to reach 30%. As a group we are proud and we will make sure that every child at school in this district will get a meal daily,” Mittal said.

For many, having such an opulent funeral for a pet seems a bit extreme. But Moshe Ndiki felt compelled to give his beloved puppy a proper burial.

Moshe shared pictures from the event organized by Nono Events and immediately got trolled. Social media users all added their two cents on the matter saying Moshe was being too extra.

A post shared by Moshe Ndiki (@moshendiki)

But in his defense, he has been with Sugar Ndiki for 5 years and was extremely hurt when he passed away.

Speaking to Drum he revealed the cause of death and why he decided to give him a lavish funeral attended by family and friends.

“He passed away almost a week ago after being bitten by a pit bull. I decided to have a lavish funeral, why not? People do it for their loved ones, their kids, and their parents and why can’t I do it for my pet? He was a constant in my life. I loved him. I don’t see a reason why not and I don’t see anything wrong,” he told the publication.

Speaking about the backlash he faced when organizing such an event for a pet he said, “People are people and it’s in their nature to talk and to react to things they are not familiar with. I have never been to a dog funeral, it was my first time attending and organizing one. But it is not about critics. People like to set a certain standard for using their own standards.”

Moshe felt proud of the funeral service for Sugar and thanked the attendees, “Beautiful and amazing send-off for my baby. Thank you to everyone that sent condolences, attended the funeral, and sent us heartwarming messages, you’re truly appreciated, thank you to my friends and family for understanding my pain and how much I loved my pup, @sugarndiki always and forever,” he captioned the clip.

Moshe told the publication that he would not mind getting another puppy however at the moment he is still grieving.

Sharing the news of his death a few weeks ago, Moshe wrote, “I’ve been going through the most the past 2 days, trying to put it aside just for me to work and we’ll just work and saying to myself I’ll grieve on Sunday, baby I love you so much @sugarndiki. I love you and hope the other side treats you well, glad to have loved you, known you, and been your dad and mom,” he wrote.

“So many many memories, you’ve been my 1st born and what a pitty you couldn’t meet your sibling, I’m shattered and I’m asking myself ndiyintoni ngaphandle kwakho Sugar, I love you sana lwam. Funeral and proper arrangements will be made soon,” he added.

Chinhoyi municipality bans use of farm bricks

$

Council had given residents a six-months grace period to complete structures constructed using the type of bricks.

Farm bricks, besides their inferior quality compared to concrete bricks and other kinds, were outlawed as their manufacture is blamed for the massive environmental degradation in Chinhoyi and surrounding areas as unregulated sand extraction continues unabated.

The municipality, which had resolved to ban the use of farm bricks in construction effective January 1, 2022, issued a six months’ moratorium on the decision. Brick moulders and residents were given an ultimatum to wind up using the type of bricks by today.

Now, confusion surrounds the implementation of the ban as some property developers argue they had already procured the farm bricks, but were yet to finish building. The local authority is mulling penalties to be slapped on all those found using the banned materials.

Mayor Garikai Dendera told NewZimbabwe.com the ban would immediately kick in, but would be waived for those who engage council and explain circumstances warranting exemption.

There are some people who had started construction using farm bricks before their ban and might have already bought materials. These have to come forward to council and apply for exemption. These waivers would be done on a case-by-case basis and no further umbrella grace period would be given,” said Dendera.

He said those building new structures using farm bricks after the June 30 deadline without council permission risk having them demolished.

“We took heed of an outcry from residents who felt council had given short notice on the farm bricks ban, hence we resolved to effectively ban their use in June. So, all those who had started construction of buildings using farm bricks must have completed them within this grace period,” the mayor added.

Combined Chinhoyi Residents Association (CCRA) chairman, Tendai Musonza, said those with already approved plans must be allowed to finish building.

“Our members, the residents, are panicking due to the uncertainty surrounding the implementation of the ban. However, the law cannot be applied in retrospect. Those with building plans already approved by council must be left to complete construction using farm bricks because people face different circumstances,” said Musonza.

The municipality stopped the use of farm bricks in line with the ‘Smart City’ concept, which dictates materials used in construction activities must promote sustainable environmental use and exploitation of natural resources.

Manufacturers of farm bricks were leaving huge pits where they extract sand, and these swathes of land, belonging to the local authority, would be very costly to service before allocating stands.

ln coming up with the unpopular decision, council also wanted to stop wanton cutting down of trees which the brick-makers use to fire kilns or ovens.

Council has extended invitations to three reputable brick manufacturing firms, namely; Willdale, Beta and Macdonald’s to set up plants in Chinhoyi.

4.2 magnitude earthquake hits Binga

A 4,2 MAGNITUDE earthquake hit Binga yesterday morning. Meteriological Services Department (MSD) head meteorologist James Ngoma confirmed the tremor yesterday telling NewsDay that the epicentre of the earthquake was Binga.

An earthquake o f a 4,2 magnitude was felt in Binga around 5:15am. There were no reports of damages to property, deaths or injuries,” Ngoma said.

“However, more enquires are being made to determine its intensity. The last earthquake to be felt in Binga was in 2021 and it had a magnitude of 4,5 with its epicentre about 15km from Lake Kariba.

Ngoma said many such tremors occur around Lake Kariba each year, adding that some of them were not reported because their intensity would be insignificant. Only those whose magnitude is above 4,5 are made public to alert the population.

The earthquakes are referred to as load-induced tremors or reservoir-induced tremors in the case of Lake Kariba and are a result of the earth crust’s response to water load or weight given the size of the dam,” he said. The reservoir-induced tremors have been occurring since 1963 when Lake Kariba started filling up.

Kwekwe Central legislator Judith Tobaiwa is up in arms with council city management following the latter’s decision to demolish some illegal tuck-shops and gas cages. In a recent notice, council said all illegal tuck-shops, including gas cages, must be demolished.

“I wish to inform that all illegal tuck-shops and gas cage owners within the City of Kwekwe have to demolish or remove their illegal structures by 29 June 2022. Failure of which illegal structures will be demolished by council without further notice,” reads the notice.

However, Tobaiwa said management at Town House is offside. I have noted with concern a circular from Kwekwe City threatening to demolish what they term illegal tuck-shops and gas cages,” she said.

“As a lawmaker and an exemplary citizen, I would like to see sanity in our town, but the move by the management is wrong, considering the situation in our country. The situation would be better resolved by engaging everyone involved and offering alternatives.” She called on councillors to represent people.

“I implore our councillors to represent the citizens and make sure the council does the correct thing in a correct way,” said the opposition legislator.

“The management cannot continue to act like a mad man with a hammer. The citizens of Kwekwe deserve better and should not continue to suffer because of the incompetence of the regime.

Dineo Ranaka educates men who mistake a woman’s care and sincerity for flirtation. The radio personality shared screenshots of her WhatsApp status where she addressed how some male friends perceive her as a flirt because of her kindness to them.

Most men mistake my sincerity in friendship for flirtation or romantic interest of sorts. It’s in my nature to be delicate, attentive and loving,” she wrote. Dineo further summerised her point in the caption of the post.

“We should normalise kindness and love, and not limit it to romance. I love kindly, loudly and gently. It’s ok to not attach any of it to romance, but regardless of how you’ve been hurt or disappointed…. Always love bigly!

Former Generations: The Legacy actress Asanda Foji is officially off the market. She got married to her long-term partner in the Eastern Cape, and shared photos of the threeday affair on her social media platforms.

Asanda also revealed that her new name, given to her by her husband’s family, was Ambesiwe.

She shared photos from the first day, saying it was ukwamkelwa komkhwenyana – the welcoming of the groom.

Asanda Foji

When my husband promised he’d make me his wife five years ago, I thought to myself: ‘I’ve heard that line before’. When he finally asked for my hand in marriage and sent his uncles to negotiate lobola in 2019, I thought: ‘Okay, this could really end in happiness’. But when he and his uncles came back again last week to rightfully claim his wife and their makoti, I thought: ‘My king, my baby love, my nunus, my soulmate has really kept his word and did right by me after every heartbreak, setback and evil we’ve had to fight against together!’,” wrote Asanda.

Asanda Foji

On the second day, she left her home for her husband’s home.

Leaving my mother’s house this day, I swear on my mother’s grave, on God, in Jesus Name that I will build my home and carry my cross kowam umtshato. And no human being and unholy assignments shall turn me backwards,” she wrote.

Then on the third day, Asanda was given her new clothes as umakoti, as well as a new name.

Day 3: Last day. This date was changed so many times. My husband and I were both starting to doubt if it’ll ever happen. But what God puts in place, no man can ever remove or change. What is meant to be, no one and nothing can stop. My soulmate and I were finally blessed with what we’ve wanted the most for years, and it could not have been possible without our Lord,” she wrote.

Her followers congratulated her on becoming Mrs Mandindi.
