“Pazvese I think love yangu yandinayo nemusic is the one that contributes to these songs coming out good regardless pane abhadhara kana pane asina. “I just do music because I love music and I think this has helped in our music getting better and recognition beyond our borders,” added Tocky Vibes.

Penny Lebyane has joined the chorus of concern for AKA after his failed stage dive at the weekend. The Supa Mega was feeling himself during a performance recently and decided to stage dive, only for it to go horribly wrong, with no-one to catch him.

AKA hit the floor and stayed down for a few good minutes, later laughing off the mishap and trying again. A clip of the moment went viral on social media this week and Penny responded by saying: “My heart is really broken about what happened to #AKA.

AKA

She later slammed those who laughed about the incident and those who did not catch the star, calling them cruel. You are mean. That was terrible. He could really be hurt and people are cruel to do that,” she wrote.

She also laid some of the blame at AKA and his team’s door, saying it should have been planned better to avoid him seriously injuring himself. Obviously it could have been avoided by him and his team to plan for them to carry him through the crowds. He could have injured his skull and spinal cord. She dismissed suggestions that AKA could have injured those in the crowd, telling a follower to stop watching so much TV.

Shurugwi Mine Boss murders employee after torturing him for two days

Shurugwi Mine-Boss murders employee after torturing him for two days. The artisanal miners, Fabian Mabungu and Lenny Hwehwe are alleged to have recorded a shortfall of 70 grams of gold during their shift. This did not settle well with their employer (name withheld) who suspected them of thievery and hired thugs to extract information from them.

An artisanal miner was brutally murdered whilst his colleague suffered life-threatening injuries after they were abducted and savagely assaulted by unknown assailants suspected to have been hired by their employer.

iHarare has learnt from the state media that the two mineworkers who were employed at a mining claim in Shurugwi were kidnapped on Tuesday and released on Thursday. Soon after their release, their relatives took them to Gweru Provincial Hospital where Mabhungu died on Sunday.

Gweru Provincial Hospital superintendent Dr Fabian Mashingaidze confirmed Mabhugu’s death and revealed that Hwehwe had already been discharged.

I can only confirm that two people were admitted, one died and the other was discharged.

Acting Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende said that the police are currently investigating the kidnapping and murder case. Speaking to the publication, the deceased’s aunt, Ms Theresa Mabhugu shed more light on what is suspected to have really transpired.

It is alleged that on Monday last week, there was a shortfall of 70 grams when these two were smelting gold. That didn’t go down well with the mine owner. On Tuesday we heard that a group of men had abducted them and taken them to Chirumhanzu for questioning. The purpose, we heard, was to force them into revealing where they had stashed the gold.

On Thursday they were dropped off and we took them to Gweru Provincial Hospital where they were admitted until Sunday when Fabian passed on and Lenny was discharged. We have been to the police making a report and we are also awaiting for a postmortem report. Funeral arrangements are underway.

Ex-Minister Terence Mukupe rubbishes wife’s statement on being impregnated by Bushiri

Ex-Minister Terence Mukupe rubbishes wife’s statement on being impregnated by Bushiri. Former Deputy Minister of Finance Terence Mukupe has broken his silence after his ‘wife’ Rachel J dismissed his claims that she was impregnated by Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Rachel J humiliated the former minister after she said that she was never his wife and that the two of them were merely cohabiting. She, however, insisted that Mukupe was responsible for the pregnancy and challenged him to take a paternity test if he was in doubt.

Rachel J also cleared Major 1 of any fault in the fiasco and claimed that Mukupe was an obsessive former love who could not deal with rejection and had vowed that if he could not have her, no other man would. This did not seem to go down well with the former minister who took to social media to respond to the allegations. Mukupe dismissed Rachel J’s statement saying that it was “Fake News” and claimed that she was not the one who had penned it. He insinuated that Shepherd Bushiri may have written the statement.

Mukupe went on to say that the person who wrote the statement should identify themselves and not hide behind the “Rachel J family” moniker so that he could take legal action against them if he so wants.

Writing on social media, Mukupe said,

Clearly it is not Rachel who authored and even had input in the article… The person who stands to benefit from this why don’t you show your face and not hide behind a non existent legal persona… Rachel J Family lol… Show your face the representative of the family totangira ipapo (and we can start from there)… So we can respond appropriately… For now, we will treat it as fake news….Prophet volume bho here? (Prophet are you getting the message clearly?)

Facebook-Screenshot-Terence-Mukupe

However, after he posted his response Rachel J hit back hard saying that Mukupe should not claim what is not his. She insisted that she has never been married in this life and mocked Mukupe saying that he should accept that the relationship is over. She used the vernacular hashtag #Bvumakurambwa (Accept that you have been dumped) to make her point clearer. Writing on Facebook, Rachel J said,

There hasn’t been a ring on this finger for a reason…..don’t claim what’s not yours!
The real Boaz is in the making. 🎶Hit the road Jack, don’t you come back no more🎶
#Bvumakurambwa

Actress Mona Monyane is passionate about helping people prioritise their health after coming to a life-changing realisation. During a recent interview on Newzroom Afrika, Mona spoke about how she’s dedicated her life to helping people make their health their number one priority. She is doing this through her #PowerOfWellness campaign. It all goes back to when I lost my second child after seven days,” she explained.

Mona tragically lost her newborn seven days after she was born. When she had revealed that she was pregnant with her second child, she was targeted by trolls who accused her of falling pregnant “too soon” after giving birth to her first child. The actress said she realised during her grieving process that if she didn’t prioritise her health, she would not get back to her sane and healthy self.

“After the seven days she passed away and it all just felt like it was too much. It felt like I was losing my mind because my career and everything had been put on hold, and now this child [for whom it was done] was not here.

Mona Monyane

The actress has previously spoken out about how losing her child has changed her life in numerous ways. She said being a mother has helped her do a better job of handling her finances and ensuring that she hustles hard.

Speaking on Kaya FM’s My Money and Me, Mona gave insight into how she spends her money and how, through research, she has learnt how a lack of financial education often holds black people back.

“My generation especially is coming from the post-apartheid generation. A lot has been done to tear families apart, to traumatise and disenfranchise them. We are … that generation who have to take the baton and say, ‘How do we normalise life for our children and their children?

RBZ responds to reports of printing money secretly again

$

RBZ responds to reports of printing money secretly again. This follows an article which was published by reputable business and economic news newspaper, The Financial Times, which alleged that the Reserve Bank was responsible for the collapse of the local currency.

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has dismissed reports that it is once again printing money which has resulted in the collapse of the local currency which was reintroduced last year.  The Financial Times alleged that the monetary authorities were printing money to subsidize gold miners to encourage them to sell their gold via the formal market.

The Monetary authorities have issued a strongly worded statement dismissing the allegations and labelling them malicious and misleading. iHarare publishes the statement from the Reserve Bank in full below: Misleading article concerning the printing of money carried in the Financial Times edition of 28 February 2020

The Financial Times edition of 28 February 2020 carried an article headlined. “Zimbabwe secret money printing threatens IMF assistance’, with the subtitle “Scheme to subsidise gold miners contributed to collapse of local dollar, The article stated that unnamed sources had said that the alleged “money —printing scheme was designed to incentivise gold exports but hastened a decline in the local currency,

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (the “Bank”) wishes to advise members of the public that the article is malicious and mis.ding and the Bank dismisses the article with the contempt it deserves. The article is calculated to tarnish the image of the Bank, and ultimately that of the country and its leadership, through misinforming the public. The Banknotes, with concern, that the article seeks to fabricate an International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board’s Report on the Article IV Consultation for Zimbabwe which development is quite unfortunate and disrespectful of the IMF as an institution and the Republic of Zimbabwe as a member of the IMF.

As stated in its Monetary Policy Statement of 17 February 2020, the Bank reiterates that the growth in money supply, or more specifically reserve money in 2019, was as a result of subsidies on fuel, electricity and grain and Government expenditure. The contribution of the gold sector incentive scheme was very minimal to the growth of reserve money. It is also mischievous to allude to “secret money printing”. there is no secrecy in the of the old incentive scheme by the State, through the Bank.

In order to ensure the continual flow of gold through the formal channels and thus mitigating the leakages and side-marketing of gold, Government, through the Bank provides incentives to the gold sector to increase foreign exchange through the interbank foreign exchange system. The gold incentive scheme, which is funded through the Budget, has not been discontinued, as alleged, in the Article. The decline of the value of the local currency was largely due to various factors including low business and consumer confidence, low production levels within the economy and the impact of macroeconomic shocks such as the drought and Cyclone Idai.

The Bank remains committed to the implementation of the Monetary Targeting Framework under its tight monetary .ance and is targeting reserve money growth of 1°- 15% by the end of 2020. As a result of the tight monetary policy stance and .ability in the exchange rate, the month-on-month inflation for January 2020 declined to 2.230/0 from 16.56. in December 2019, and the forecast is that it will remain in the single-digit levels for the rest of the year.

3 March 2020

Reserve-Bank-of-Zimbabwe-RBZ

Unsurprisingly, the central’s banks claims seem to be falling on deaf ears. Former finance minister and opposition politician Tendai Biti scoffed at the RBZ’s denials saying,

The frenetic attempts by the RBZ to deny its insatiable money printing zeal is as tragic as it is unacceptable. In its own February Monetary Policy Statement, it accepts broad money rose by 300% It is spending billions on quasi-fiscal activities including fuel & gold subsidies.

Truth is the RBZ is a rogue institute that is at the epicentre of the instability of the exchange and monetary policy framework of the country. It is the largest actor on the parallel FX activities, drives fuel & gold cartels & is responsible for opaque non-concessional loans.

With the tobacco floors opening soon, the rogue Bank will rob farmers of their FX earnings without any strong legal basis for the expropriation That FX will then be used to oil cartels such as Trafigura, FSG, Command Agriculture& many other illicit activities. RBZ should be shut.

China assures Zim parents: Your kids are safe and fine. Zimbabwe’s scholarship programs have seen many students go to China for academic studies since 2016 and currently there are more than 2 000 students in China.

Chinese Deputy Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhao Baogang has addressed parents with their children studying in China amid fears of the Coronavirus and reassured that their children are safe.

Speaking during the address with the parent’s deputy ambassador Zhao Baogang reassured parents that their children are safe and that they should not panic.

“I want to assure you and do not panic. I promise me you that your Children are safe in China,” he said. The deputy ambassador pledged his commitment to providing information regarding the safety of students studying in China.

“The situation is now under control as being witnessed by new cases being reported. Most cases were reported in Hubei. We will continue to work hard to contain the virus, we have deployed more doctors and more nurses than patients and we hope that the virus will end by April.”

The Deputy Chinese ambassador also gave out his mobile number for assistance to the parents in case it is needed. He also pledged to support the Zimbabwean government if there is a need for evacuation of citizens in China although there are fears that evacuation may further increase the spread of the virus.

“If the nation wants to withdraw their citizen China is ready to assist,” he said. He dismissed rumours circulating on social media citing that the virus has now spread to Zimbabwe by stating that all suspected cases are negative.

Chelsea knocks Liverpool out of FA Cup

Chelsea knock Liverpool out of FA Cup. Liverpool made seven changes to the side that lost surprisingly at Watford on Saturday – the first reverse of their league campaign after a run of 18 successive victories left them on the brink of a first title for 30 years.

Chelsea advanced into the FA Cup quarter-finals as Liverpool suffered their second successive defeat of this stellar season in a highly-competitive encounter at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea, however, still had to overcome a Liverpool team containing the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez in a hard-fought fifth-round tie.

Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian gifted Willian Chelsea’s opener after 13 minutes when he hopelessly fumbled his 20-yard shot, but the European champions had chances of their own only to see recalled keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga present a formidable barrier with a string of saves.

The game was effectively settled after 64 minutes when former Everton midfielder Ross Barkley surged from inside his own half on a solo run before beating Adrian with an emphatic strike.

The hosts could have had more but Mason Mount rattled the crossbar with a 25-yard free-kick, before striker Olivier Giroud saw an effort brilliantly tipped on to the woodwork by Adrian.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will now have Wembley in his sights while Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp returns to the task of wrapping up the Premier League title and overcoming a 1-0 deficit from the Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid. The tiny figure of Billy Gilmour looked like a boy among men at the heart of this FA Cup tie between two Premier League superpowers – but the 18-year-old Scot gave a performance that was huge in stature.

Gilmour, who has only played six games with three starts and a total of 281 minutes, may be short on experience but he looked big on talent as his controlled, creative display deservedly won him the man-of-the-match award.

He glided around midfield, happy to take the ball in deep positions but also willing to make an impact further forward in the face of experienced opposition such as Fabinho.  Gilmour deserved to be on the winning side, victory clinched by the great enigma that is Barkley.

Barkley, at 26, is approaching the key point of his career when potential must be transformed into something more tangible for Chelsea and England.

Here, Barkley showed both sides to his character, often making the wrong decisions but showing his natural brilliance when he took possession in his own half and surged forward before sending a flashing finish past Adrian.

This was a big victory for Chelsea and Frank Lampard. Their Champions League hopes look all but over after a 3-0 home defeat in the home leg of the last-16 tie against Bayern Munich and they face a fight to finish in the top four – but they are at the heart of that battle and are now in the later stages of the FA Cup.

Liverpool can take heart

Liverpool manager Klopp’s animated demeanour demonstrated that this was a match he was taking very seriously and was desperate to win but it was to no avail.

It has been an unusual FA Cup campaign for Liverpool, with a scratch side full of youngsters winning a Merseyside derby against Everton in the third round, then effectively a youth team beating Shrewsbury Town in a fourth-round replay at Anfield while Klopp and his senior players enjoyed a winter break.

Liverpool and their fans have been given a glimpse of the talents of youngsters such as Curtis Jones and Neco Williams but this was the end of the line.

They had their chances, with Kepa keeping them at bay, particularly in a remarkable sequence in the first half when he blocked from Mane, Jones and Divock Origi in swift succession.

In the end, however, the task was too much, their cause not helped by Adrian’s awful blunder. Liverpool may not have the Treble of title, FA Cup and Champions League to pursue any more – but the Premier League crown is coming back to Anfield and this side still has enough to make it a memorable night against Atletico Madrid.

Joy for prisoners as government announces amnesty

Joy for prisoners as government announces amnesty. The government announced that the move is meant to ease congestion and overcrowding in the prison system which is currently holding more prisoners than its maximum carrying capacity. The prison system is also poorly resourced resulting in shortages of food and other essentials.

At least 5 000 prisoners from the country’s prisons are set to be released after the government announced that it had approved a general prisoner amnesty.

The general amnesty was announced by Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa during a post-cabinet briefing to the media yesterday. Said Mutsvangwa,

“Cabinet consider and approved a proposal to have a general amnesty for prisoners. Cabinet noted that the country’s prison population is currently standing at 22,000 against an official holding capacity of 17,000.

“The general amnesty which will be for certain specified categories of prisoners will certainly decongest the country’s prisons and alleviate challenges being experienced by the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services.” However, Mutsvangwa did not specify the number of prisoners who would be released in the amnesty.

This will be President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s second pardon. In March 2018, the government released 3 000 prisoners in an effort to ease overcrowding in the prisons. Back then, the pardon benefitted all female prisoners except those sentenced to death or facing life sentences, all juveniles regardless of their crimes and all people jailed for less than 36 months.

Commenting on the matter, Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Ziyambi Ziyambi, said that the amnesty would apply to prisoners in nine separate categories and said that the authorities are now working on determining how many qualified. The Minister said that the government was aiming at releasing at least 5 000 prisoners.

Speaking to New Zimbabwe, Ziyambi said. “What we did is to list the categories prisoners that we are proposing to be given amnesty and we have nine categories.

“Going forward now, we work on the prisoners to have how many qualify among the nine categories of poisoners that we want to release.

“But our target is we want to release our prison population so that it is within our prison carrying capacity. “So that is the target and we are very hopeful that we will be able to reduce it from 22 000 to about 17 or 16 000, preferably.”

Jailed musician Pitch Black Afro ruthlessly beaten up by police after murdering his wife

Rapper Pitch Black Afro, real name Thulani Ngcobo, has accused the top cop who cracked the horrendous Rhodes Park murder-by-drowning and rape case of having forced a confession out of him. The Soweto-born hitmaker stands accused of killing his wife, Catherine Modisane, at a B&B in Yeoville on December 31, 2018. His trial is underway in the South Gauteng High Court.

Ngcobo emerged from the holding cells on Monday in high spirits, greeting his mother and blowing a kiss to her. He cut a quiet figure once proceedings started. The State kicked off a trial within a trial, which would result in a ruling determining on whether the confession Ngcobo had made was admissible or not. Ngcobo wanted the court to rule the confession inadmissible, on the grounds that he did not make it in his own volition.

On the other hand, the State sought to have the confession admitted as part of evidence enough to nail the rapper for murder and defeating the ends of justice. Prosecutor Matshiliso Moleko led Captain Mbhazima Pila on testimony intended to prove that Ngcobo was not coerced to confess. Pila testified that he took Ngcobo from his cells to a magistrate’s office, where he made the confession. He said Ngcobo was not coerced in any way to confess.

Pitch Black Afro

I didn’t assault him. He didn’t complain of injuries. I didn’t promise him anything should he make a confession,” Pila said. “I didn’t tell him what to say to the magistrate.

But Ngcobo’s evidence was that Pila did more than just take him to the magistrate. His version was that the captain was one of six who coerced a confession from him, defence lawyer Rian Greyling told the court.

The group of Yeoville officers assaulted Ngcobo, handcuffed his hands behind a chair, withheld his insurance documents and told him he would get a lenient sentence if he confessed, Greyling submitted. Pila denied all of these, implying that Ngcobo’s recollection of events was manufactured in his head.

Greyling said the officer who played a leading role in the interrogation meant to coerce a confession boasted that he was involved in the Rhodes Park case. This officer told Ngcobo he was guilty and he should sign a statement to that effect, Greyling put it to Pila. “It’s not true,” Pila responded.

Continued Greyling: “He told the accused he’s a murderer.Pila stood his ground that this was further from the truth. It later became clearer in court that the officer involved in the Rhodes Park case that Greyling mentioned was Constable Lufhuno Brian Sono. Proceedings in Ngcobo’s case will resume on Tuesday morning.

How to know if someone has ignored you on WhatsApp even after disabling blue ticks

How to know if someone has ignored you on WhatsApp even after disabling blue ticks. We’ve all at one point experienced the frustration and insecurity that comes with feeling ignored by one of our contacts on the instant messaging app, Whatsapp. Although it might seem obvious when one is being ignored, it’s not so easy since WhatsApp introduced new privacy features on the platform that allow users to hide their visibility.

One of the primary features that WhatsApp introduced is the read receipt option which ensures that the receivers can read messages sent to them without alerting beady-eyed senders whether their message was read.

However, there is a trick to work around this feature to know if the message is read even with blue ticks turned off. What’s more? The receiver would not even come to know if you are able to see if the messages you sent are being read or not. So here is a quick and easy way of knowing whether you are being ignored or your paranoid mind is assuming you are being ignored when in fact you are not.

1. First things first, to turn on or off the read receipt option, open WhatsApp, go to Settings option, tap on Privacy and toggle between the Read Receipts header.

Under the option, you will see a disclaimer by WhatsApp which reads:

If you turn off read receipts, you won’t be able to see read receipts from other people. Read receipts are always set for group chats.

Despite the read receipts being disabled, the voice notes sent over personal chats do not support the feature of blue ticks tuned off. So, every time you send a voice clip over, you will be able to see its ticks turn blue once the receiver hears it. This trick is useful to know if your messages are being received or not, but it can prove to be extremely annoying after a while.

You can even long-press the voice clip message and go to its Info to know the time it was read at. Note, the voice clip message will only show blue ticks after it has been heard by the other person.

Sjava denies raping Lady Zamar, accuses her of dodging defamation lawsuit

Amid growing controversy that this week saw singer Jabulani Hadebe, known professionally as Sjava, removed from the line-up of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, the artist finally broke his silence about rape allegations against him in a statement on Tuesday.

Sjava denied the allegations made by his former lover, musician Lady Zamar, who had opened a case of rape against him in November last year. She reportedly claimed she was raped after the two performed at the Royal Heritage Festival in Limpopo in 2017. In his statement, Sjava revealed that his lawyers had sent a letter of demand to Lady Zamar in November after she had accused him of abusing her following one of his shows on October 27.

A day after they served summons on her for a case of defamation, 13 November, Lady Zamar opened the rape case, he said. Sjava added that he had then cooperated with the police, who had told him they were still investigating, including interviewing witnesses, and that he had not been charged. By January, it was still being decided whether he would be prosecuted, he was told.

Lady-Zama-and-Sjava

By February, Sjava’s legal team apparently pushed ahead with the defamation lawsuit against his accuser, after which Sjava was contacted by tabloid Sunday Sun, who informed him they were writing an article about the alleged rape. He took issue with some of the questions posed to him, including one about Lady Zamar’s “ulterior motives”, which he believed would have been better put to her directly

Sjava has now accused the police of breaking protocols for allegedly talking to the media about his case despite the musician not having been charged yet. He explained that he had refrained from answering questions about the case because, among other things, he had received advice from the police not to. He could, however, not remain silent due to the massive attention the case was getting and the effect it was having on him. He said “we are looking at our options” with regards to the SAPS “talking to the media/public”.

Zim mom with genius 5-year-old son pleads for funds to send him to Robotics school. The five-year-old genius, Miguel has a very high IQ which is well above other kids in his age group and most adults as well. The proud Zimbabwean mother to a child prodigy is fundraising to send her five-year-old son to a special private school in Cape Town.

“Miguel has the ability to count up to 1,000 in multiples, he has a sharp memory that he is able to spell most words he has seen or read and he speaks English eloquently,” said Gladys Sethole about her son.

She wants to raise R93,000 to send her son to Curro Durbanville, which offers robotics and mechatronics from grade R students up to high school.

Said Miguel’s Mom

“This year I decided it is now time for him to join the mainstream schooling system, where he can be involved in engagement learning with peers of his age at a school that offers individual schooling support that he so much needs. He was accepted and enrolled right away,”

“The young man is very creative and loves building electronic cars, robots and mechanical devices. His dream, he says, is to build a vehicle that can fly, so that he doesn’t have to sit in traffic. We believe in his ability to achieve this dream.”

The independent school’s small classes programs allow for more one-on-one interaction with the teacher. Sethole said this was imperative for her son as he has “irregular concentration patterns” that require “constant attention”.

So far, over R2,500 had been raised for Miguel’s fees on Monday. One of the donors, identified as Alfred had praises for the small boy’s genius mind. “All the best, young sir. You are indeed the future of this country and tomorrow’s leadership.”

Another donor, identified as Mr G, said Miguel really deserved the opportunity to further his dreams. “Wishing you only the best of success young man. If anyone deserves this, it is you!” Below is Glady’s full message on fundraising for little Miguel.
