Kelly Khumalo has opened up about her ongoing feud with her sister Zandie

Musician Kelly Khumalo has opened up about her ongoing feud with her sister Zandie, saying the matter is with lawyers to handle. Kelly and Zandie made headlines in February, when Zandie issued a statement saying she was “divorcing” her sister over claims Kelly had made about her husband, Mhlo Gumede.

Kelly had earlier distanced herself from an alleged scam which Mhlo was allegedly involved in. Speaking on Afternoon Express this week, Kelly said the dispute was now in the hands of lawyers, adding that the situation was “that bad”.

“Honestly, I am at peace with it. I am that one person who moved on when it is time to move on, whether you are family or not. When it is time to move on, it is time to move on.” The star also addressed claims she was having a “meltdown” when she posted a video of herself crying and pleading with fans to get on their knees and ask God what they should take from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Zandile Khumalo Gumede at war with her Sister

In the video, posted to Instagram two weeks ago, Kelly said she had been “summoned” to make the request to her fans. Kelly said she was reflecting on the state of the country when she heard a voice telling her to speak to her fans.

“It was not even me. If you know me very well, you would know that I am a very spiritual person and I have a gift, in terms of spirituality. I see things. I feel things. With so much that we are going through as a nation, I felt all sorts of things.

“One voice that was loud to me was to ask people, plead with people, to pray and tell God exactly what we want from this situation, because he is the only person who can put an end to this. Kelly shrugged off the hate on social media and said those who were bullying her were just looking for relevance. Let them continue my love, it’s their only moment of relevance,” she told those who tried to defend her from critics. She added that her haters can go “all the way to hell” and said it was not worth explaining herself to people who didn’t want to understand her.

Baba Harare is safe now. His manager Filda “Mama Filo” Muchabaiwa said the 31-year-old was safe and sound. She, however, said her camp was on sabbatical waiting for normalcy to return. “Baba Harare is safe and sound at home, he is resting as is the case with most of us,” said Mama Filo.

Jiti music exponent Baba Harare, who was reportedly under the weather with severe chest pains sparking a Covid-19 infection scare, has fully recovered. Asked what was keeping them busy during the lockdown, she said: “We are just home resting and we don’t want to flout the lockdown rules because we will be in trouble with the authorities.

“What I can tell you is that we are home and we will only resume shows when the situation is permitting.” She said Baba Harare’s welfare was well catered for as he had worked hard before lockdown. “By the way, we had our savings and we are surviving on what we had in our coffers.

“We have enough in our savings to take us for months but if the lockdown is further extended, we won’t starve.” Mama Filo said the Hat Yemurara singer was also busy in the studio prior to the lockdown.

“Baba Harare is one such a person who would not stop doing what he loves most – recording new songs. “Prior to the lockdown, he was in the studio and that alone shows how busy is this man that we are talking about.”

Baba Harare

Baba Harare, who made his name under Jah Prayzah’s 3rd Generation Band as a lead guitarist and backing vocalist, has been credited for promoting jiti.

Born Braveman Chizvino, Baba Harare started off as a reggae artiste who fused a lot of genres which prompted him to call his sound Gango Music. It’s now evident that the singer has now settled for jiti, a genre which is richly grounded in Shona tradition.

He has also been nominated for several awards and even won some in his career as a solo artiste after partying ways with Jah Prayzah. Baba Harare is now known for his energy-sapping drills where he performs.

Highlanders salaries up to date. The two parties had signed a three-year contract and were in the second year of the marriage. “In terms of salaries, we are okay. “NetOne left us safe, we are covered up to May, we won’t be worried about our player’s salaries,” said Mhlope.

Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlope says their players’ salaries are up-to-date dismissing rumours they are yet to pay April salaries. Highlanders are reported to have found the going tough after their sponsor, NetOne, decided to stop sponsoring the team.

He, however, admitted that’s life will be difficult without sponsorship. “Life will never be the same without our sponsor but at the same time, we respect their decision.

There is nothing we can do. “They were covering our player’s salaries a huge expenditure. But they left us with somewhere to start from. “Replacing them is a big challenge and its under short notice. But we are a big brand and we hope some other company our there will come to our rescue,” he added. A player who spoke to H-Metro on condition of anonymity said they are owed since April.

“We haven’t received our last month’s salaries. “We usually get them on the 28-29 of every month. But I think we are heading for tough times NetOne used to rescue us with salaries.

“We were promised that we will receive them yesterday but, ‘ma tokupai mangwana acho awanda. We know it’s tough out there and all we want is for them to be honest with us, not these fake promises,” said the player. Mhlope said they were not ready for the blow but is optimistic they will find a way to turn around the situation.

Former Warriors player Costa Nhamoinesu calls for discipline

Former Warriors player Costa Nhamoinesu calls for discipline. The Sparta Prague player said the Covid-19 outbreak has affected the whole world and respecting the regulations in place is the only way out.

Zimbabwe international defender Costa Nhamoinesu says discipline has helped him avoid contracting coronavirus despite being in Europe, one of the most affected continents.  Speaking to H-Metro from his base in Czech Republic yesterday, Costa said he is not afraid since he is following regulations.

“I’m not afraid, I’m taking each day as it comes. It’s a problem being faced by everyone, we just have to follow the precautions in order to decrease the chances of catching the disease,” said Costa. He said they have since resumed training after the government relaxed lockdown restrictions.

It has been reported that the Czech Football League Association is targeting May 25 to resume action for the first and second leagues which were put on hold mid-March. Costa, however, said the way forward remains unclear but revealed that they have started controlled training sessions.

“We resumed controlled training sessions and decisions are still to be made about continuing with the season. “And healthwise, so far so good, the club is making sure we are all safe, providing us with sanitisers, masks and following the guidelines set to stay safe,” said Costa.

The former Masvingo United defender, who is following developments back home, said it is possible to win the battle against this pandemic. He warned people back home to respect the laid down regulations if the country is to win fight off the disease. Costa’s message comes at a time people’s attitude towards social distancing and other precaution measures has been under scrutiny.

“I think people back home just need to follow the recommendations and guidelines set by the authorities. What is important is to do what has been spelt out, good for you as an individual and other people. “We all have a role to promote solidarity and together we can save each other,” he said adding God has an ultimate answer, “Only Yahweh knows what will happen, we can only try by all means to stay safe.” The Czech top-flight, which has 16 teams, was suspended after 24 rounds with Costa’s team on position nine.

The gangly 34-year-old defender said he is geared up for a comeback to complete the season with a target of improving their position on the standings. Costa endeared himself with local football lovers during the Warriors Afcon 2017 qualifiers campaign and went on to play in Gabon finals.

Machete gang resurfaces again strikes at Maphisa mine. Police confirmed the incident that occurred at Goodcow Mine where the criminals armed with a fire-arm, machetes and axes made off with 12 by 50kg bags half-filled with gold ore.

A seven-member turday, invoking memories of terror-linked to the machete-wielding criminals.

Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Philisani Ndebele confirmed the arrest of the gang members, adding that Maphisa was fast emerging as an armed robbery hotspot in the province.

“They have been arrested. Maphisa has been giving us a challenge as it is where we have been recording a number of robberies targeting mostly mines,” Ndebele said.

In January, a mine worker was shot dead while several others were injured when 10 robbers struck Antelope Milling Stamp Mine.

Police in November last year imposed a ban on the carrying of machetes following a crime wave linked to machete terror gangs. It was extended in terms of section 14 (4) of the Public Order and Security Act Chapter (11:17). Failure to comply with the ban attracts a fine, six-month sentence or both.

News anchor caught cheating when lover appeared half-n@ked on live broadcast. Alfonso Merlos from Spain was broadcasting a segment for a local news show, Estado de Alarma, when a half-n@ked woman – who it later transpired wasn’t his girlfriend – made a surprise appearance, People reports.

This journalist gave viewers a little bit more than they expected during an at-home news broadcast. The 41-year-old news anchor was broadcasting remotely amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has left many people in self-isolation and lockdown in their homes. But during his live appearance, a woman nonchalantly walked by behind him in nothing but her br@ and p@nties – seemingly unaware of the countless viewers.

It wasn’t long before many viewers pointed out that this woman wasn’t Alfonso’s girlfriend, Marta López, who’d starred in Spain’s Big Brother reality series. It was instead Alexia Rivas, another journalist, Mirror reports.

Alfonso was accused of cheating on Marta and that he’d been caught red-handed on live television. At first, Alfonso didn’t say anything for a couple of days but he later opened up about the incident on The Ana Rose Show. He revealed that he’d broken up with the former Big Brother star and apologised for any unintended pain the incident may have caused.

“If you think that my attitude hasn’t been correct or that there are things that I haven’t done well, I have no problem asking for forgiveness, although my goal wasn’t to harm someone else,” he said.

But Marta refutes Alfonso’s version of events – that he’d broken up with her before the broadcast and had been dating Alexia for a couple of weeks. Marta insist they were still a couple and had simply had a disagreement, Fox News reports. Marta described the incident as “unpleasant and shameful”.

Khama Billiat named SA’s most valuable midfielder

Khama Billiat named SA’s most valuable midfielder. The midfield is often considered the engine room of a football team, and it is no surprise that these talented individuals are valued as the most expensive players in the league.

Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits players all battle with one Kaizer Chiefs star for the unofficial title of most valuable Premier Soccer League midfielder.

However, the “midfielder” has become a contested term in modern football owing to the fact that many players today are not traditional central midfielders but operate as wingers or wide forwards, often when the team plays with only one recognised striker, centre-forward or number nine.

Khama Billiat is that player for Amakhosi. In his current role under Ernst Middendorp, he operates more like a winger or wide forward when compared to the likes of targetmen Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro, who stay central upfront.

CAF Khama Billiat

The Zimbabwean — who is reportedly valued at R29,6 million — operates as an attacking midfielder capable of creating and scoring goals from anywhere on the pitch, whether centrally or out wide, but is also expected to help with defensive duties.

A midfielder is sometimes likened to an “all-rounder” in cricket and is often a player that needs to be adept at both leading the team forward and tracking back to defend. This may explain why their values are so great, compared to the previous list of most valuable strikers, but some are naturally more gifted in one area than the other.

Dynamos duped Ghananians issue gets nasty. In an interview with NewsDay sport Oliveir said he was misled into believing that there was a topflight soccer team in Zimbabwe looking for players.

The Cameroonian agent, Olivier Urieley, of African Management Football, who worked with Tinashe Gomba to bring four Ghanaians to a non-existent team in Chiredzi has accused his partner of misusing over US$1 000 he sent to him for rentals and upkeep of the players during their trials in Zimbabwe.

“I don’t have time to waste with Gomba because he is a crook. I don’t want any agent who cheats players. Those are professional players and they should report Gomba to the police. I gave him a lot of money for the upkeep of the players, but I am told they never got anything. I gave him over US$1 000,” he said.

“I thought Gomba was a genuine agent until I started to hear all these stories. I am a businessman so I don’t want to be involved in deals that tarnish my image.”

The four Ghanaians, who arrived in Zimbabwe from Accra on January 16, 2020, are still stuck in the sugar-producing town of Chiredzi after President Emmerson Mnangagwa decreed a nationwide lockdown as a safety measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The four – Peter Tibila (24), Francis Adjetey (23), John Adu Poku (22) and Nelson Adenyo (23) – are holed up in the Makondo area of Tshovani suburb. According to the players ,they were made to believe that there was a well-paying team called Khaya Africa FC.

They were told that the club was paying between US$1 500 and US$2 000 plus a winning bonus of US$500 including signing-on fees of US$10 000. Francis who was plying his for a topflight club in Ghana immediately dumped his club for trials in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) spokesperson, Xolisani Gwesela, said he had verified with Zifa Masvingo and was told the letter of invitation for the players was forged.

“I have verified with Zifa Masvingo provincial chairperson Naboth Magwizi and he has indicated that the letter is a forged document because Wellington Muchemwa denied ever signing such a letter. He says that his signature was cut and pasted on that letter without his knowledge. Muchemwa was shown the letter by Magwizi and he says he knows nothing about it .

“As Zifa, we do not condone such criminal behaviour and Masvingo province will give us further details on the matter. We will await a report from Masvingo province to decide the way forward.”

Magwizi said Zifa wanted to clear its name and the board had already put an investigating team on the ground. He went on to say both Energy Zava and Gomba, who were implicated in the scam, were in the Masvingo Zifa board.

“Those guys are in the provincial board. Zava is the vice-chairperson and Gomba is board member (finance). Because of the allegations involving Zifa officials, we have decided to conduct an investigation to clear our name as Zifa. We will be in a position to take action after the final report,” said Magwizi.
