Douglas Mwonzora recalls Rusape Council Chairman. Councillor Lyton Sithole, who was the councillor for Ward 5, became the first elected official to be recalled by the MDC-T.

The opposition MDC-T led by Douglas Mwonzora on Friday last week recalled Rusape Town Council chairman, Councillor Lyton Sithole.

The MDC Alliance had nine councillors in Rusape and four of them reportedly belonged to the MDC-T while five, including Sithole, were linked to the Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa.

Local Government and Public Works Minister, July Moyo, notified acting town secretary, Fanisen Shuwa, of Sithole’s expulsion by the MDC-T. In a letter dated 10 February 2022, Moyo advised Shuwa to inform the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) of the vacancy that arose following Sithole’s expulsion. Part of the letter read:

I wish to inform you that I am in receipt of a letter from the Movement for Democratic Change (T) stating that Lyton Sithole (Ward 5) has been expelled from the party. In terms of Section 278 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, as read with Section (1) (k), Ward 5 is now vacant.

In terms of Section 121 of the Electoral Act, please, proceed to inform the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) of this vacancy. Sithole on Saturday confirmed his recall in a notice to the residents of Ward 5.

Drama as man is busted for marrying 14 women in 7 different states

Drama as man is busted for marrying 14 women in 7 different states. A 54-year-old man has been tagged ‘the Indian Tinder Swindler’ after marrying 14 women across India and scamming them out of thousands of pounds.

The man identified as Bidhu Prakash Swain who is often aliased as Ramesh Swain has been arrested by the Police after primarily targeting middle-aged women and divorcees. Bidhu is also alleged to have fraudulently posed as a doctor at the Union Health Ministry.

“His targets were highly-educated and worked in senior positions at various government and private organisations. He had his eyes on their money” The police disclosed.

One of his alleged victims was an advocate at the Supreme Court and a senior Central Armed Police Forces official. He later married the woman and is accused of duping her out of nearly £10,000.

Swain’s victims weren’t always people either, it is said. He took it one step further and scammed organisations and sacred places of worship. He managed to scam the Gurdwara, where one of his marriages was solemnised, out of almost £11,000 with the promise of building a hospital, his accusers claim.

According to the news outlet, Swain is a father of five children and had married for the first time in 1982 and then again in 2022. Between 2002 and 2020, he had befriended many women and married them too.

A Delhi-based teacher filed a complaint in July 2021. After spending a few months with him in Bhubaneswar, she said she realised he was a fraud. Upon arrest, officials say they discovered he had fooled 13 more women he met on social media and matrimonial sites.

The police say they recovered 11 cash cards, four identification cards with different names and a school certificate using a separate identity. He was also frauding unemployed youths with the promise of providing jobs or securing admissions on medicine courses while posing as the deputy director-general of the Central Health Education and Training, it is alleged.

The police will seek Swain’s remand. “If needed, an all-women team will be formed for further probe. A professional counsellor will also be included in the team for counselling his victims,” the DCP said.

“We are planning to conduct a detailed financial investigation in the fraud. We will seek longer remand of the accused for a detailed probe,” said DCP Umashankar Dash.

Lady sits on hot water after a busy night during Valentine’s day. Lady sits on hot water after a busy night during Valentine’s day. A lady has elicited laughter online after she was spotted sitting on a bucket of hot water as she heals her pr!vate part with the vapour emanating from the container after Valentine’s Day.

The young lady had a towel wrapped around her body as she endured the heat that was coming from the bucket while undergoing a process technically called vaporization.

From the look of things, she went on a s3x marathon the previous day with her partner to commemorate Valentine’s Day; Valentine’s Day originated as a Christian feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and,

through later folk traditions, has become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.

However, the youth in modern times have sexualized the concept and that is the byproduct of what this lady just demonstrated.

Hacker who stole 40,000 dollars from Neymar’s account arrested

Hacker who stole 40,000 dollars from Neymar’s account arrested. The police said the alleged hacker worked at an unnamed bank where the Paris St-Germain (PSG) and Brazil player and his business manager father had accounts.

The 20-year-old was arrested on Wednesday, February 9, “for defrauding bank clients,” a police statement said. Brazilian authorities have arrested a man who allegedly hacked into Neymar’s bank accounts and repeatedly stole small sums of money totaling more than $40,000. Although the police did not name the player in the statement, the officer in charge said it was Neymar.

He explained how the alleged theft occurred to the Brazilian TV show Brasil Urgente. “What did this lad do?” said Fabio Pinheiro Lopes. “He got the password of his office colleague and stole small amounts of money from famous people with high net worth.”

He added, “These people didn’t notice. He made (a transfer) of 10,000 (reais) ($1,912.59), then another of 10,000, then 20,000, and then 50,0000 and the total came to 200,000.”

Lopes explained that the account affected was Neymar’s and that his father likely controlled the funds. “When they discovered, they called the bank. The bank reimbursed the victim and investigated who was behind it,” he said.

Few celebrities have a more difficult relationship with the Mzansi public than Dineo Ranaka. She is always getting slammed for one reason or another, and now she has finally shown some indication that she knows all the things people say about her.. And she is not amused in the slightest.

The radio personality recently took to her Instagram stories to address all the negative things that have been said about her. She expressed disappointment at all the judgement she often faces, and said it is even worse because most of it comes from women. She would have expected her fellow ladies to have a little more grace for her, but unfortunately, that’s not what she has been met with.

The media personality recently revealed the reason why her marriage of less than one year came to an abrupt end. She said that the relationship had been mentally and emotionally abusive, and that she often felt like her husband would try to manipulate her a lot. Eventually, she chose to protect her own peace and opted for divorce.

But the news did not sit well with Mzansi social media users. They came for her viciously, saying they did not believe how she could be complaining about toxic people when she is toxic herself. “You can dish it but you can’t take it?” they demanded to know.

Dineo Ranaka

Her analysis is astute, though: people really do think of her exactly as she said. Because of her family’s reality TV show, The Ranakas, she has been labelled toxic because of having some altercations. All those labels she mentioned have been attached to her at least once.

In light of what she went through recently with almost losing her lucrative job on Metro FM, she came out to say that she struggles with anxiety. Well, considering how frequently she is attacked on social media because of things she says or does, that is not surprising. But we hope that she continues to choose her peace and mental health, and does not let the haters win.

ED blocked from seizing Jonathan Moyo’s farm

Justices Chinembiri Bhunu, George Chiweshe and Joseph Musakwa, on appeal, overturned a High Court ruling dismissing Moyo’s urgent application for an interdict against the lands minister and Barclos Mujuru, who has occupied a section of the farm since October 2020.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has suffered a major blow in its retributive bid to seize Jonathan Moyo’s Mazowe farm after the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the exiled former cabinet minister.

Moyo co-owns the farm with his wife, Beatrice.

An interim order granted in favour of Moyo on Monday reads: “Until a final decision relating to the rights of the parties can be made by this court under case number HC 290/20, or the return date of this application, whichever happens sooner, the state of occupation by applicants in respect of the remainder of Patterson Farm in Mazowe shall not be interfered with by the respondents, its employees or assigns.”

Justice Esther Muremba of the Harare High Court had dismissed Moyo’s application, prompting his appeal to the Supreme Court. The judge said Beatrice, who filed the founding affidavit, had no legal standing in the matter because the offer letter was issued to her husband.

Her lawyers disagreed, arguing that she was an applicant in the pending application for review and was entitled to “protect the integrity of an application in which she is a party.”

In the review application, Moyo and his wife are challenging the compulsory acquisition of their 623-hectare farm, which they bought for Z$6 million (US$105,400 at the time) from the government in 2002.

In May 2019, two years after Moyo was forced to flee to Kenya when the military overthrew President Robert Mugabe, the new lands minister Perrance Shiri wrote to Moyo withdrawing the government’s offer letter for the farm, issued in 2001.

Shiri said the intention was to “downsize” their holding in the farm, which he claimed was “underutilised.”

By December that year, however, the government stance appeared to have changed and Shiri now required Moyo to “wind up operations and vacate the farm.”

On October 2020, Mujuru moved into the farm. He said he had been given an offer letter for a section of the property by the lands ministry.

Moyo’s lawyer Advocate Thabani Mpofu, instructed by Chris Mhike, argues that the purported seizure of the farm is not only unlawful but also “motivated by extraneous reasons that are political and mala fide.”

In an affidavit filed with the application for review, Moyo said: “The decision implicates a breach of administrative law in that it is substantively unreasonable in the extreme and constitutes state-sanctioned theft.

“The land that has been taken away from me is land that I acquired from the state in terms of a transparent process. The state has not paid me back the money that it took from me in terms of the agreement concluded between the parties.”

Moyo maintained that before he was forced to flee his home which was shot at and vandalised by soldiers, he was a “very productive farmer and the government of Zimbabwe acknowledged the fact.”

In May 2019, before Shiri’s letters, he said a combined team of police officers, intelligence officers and soldiers swept into the farm and “harassed” his family and employees.

“It was clear that a process to repossess the farm had commenced,” he told the High Court.

Moyo also argues that the plan to seize his farm is “a breach of the constitution in that it countenances the acquisition of land belonging to an indigenous person under the programme of land reform.”

The government has used similar tactics in Matabeleland North where it is seeking to repossess Esidakeni Farm from human rights lawyer Siphosami Malunga, he says as punishment for his criticism of the government.

Malunga and his partners, who bought the farm in 2017, have challenged the plan to seize the 554-hectare farm which the government plans to parcel out to Zanu-PF’s secretary for administration Obert Mpofu.

Other former Mugabe ministers including Saviour Kasukuwere, Patrick Zhuwao and Mandi Chimene are also in court resisting moves to grab their farms.

Mum delivers baby girl whilst at court. The now mother of four, Patience Mubaiwa, 39, was at court for the afternoon session, when she went into labour.

A miracle baby girl was delivered at the Harare Magistrates Court yesterday. Her mother went into labour, after testifying as a defence witness, in a matter in which her brother is an accused person.

This attracted scores of people, who were also waiting to attend the afternoon session, with many watching helplessly, while waiting for health personnel to attend to the situation.

Tarisavi Machisa, 27, who was also going about her business at court, intervened and transformed herself into the heroine of the day. She expertly assisted Mubaua to deliver her baby safely, with regional court recorder, Miriam Chimedza, also playing a big part in the process.

After the two heroines completed their task, the baby was wrapped in a sweater and some papers, as they waited for medical assistance. Mubaiwa and her new baby were taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital, in an ambulance, for further medical checks, by the experts.

Mike Chimombe’s sister-in-law welcomes a baby boy. The duo grabbed headlines late last year when H-Metro exclusively revealed they were expecting a child. Businessman and socialite, Mike Chimombe, has been blessed with a baby boy from his union with his wife’s sister, Panashe Rusero.

Cozy pictures of Chimombe and Panashe, at the baby shower, then started circulating on social media, which then confirmed their relationship. When reached for comment, Chimombe did not pick up this reporter’s phone and didn’t answer H-Metro’s landline.

Sources close to the family confirmed the affair. “They welcomed a baby boy early this year and they are trying to keep it low-key,” the source said.

“At the moment, Mike has an apartment for Panashe and the child, so basically he has two homes, which he frequents. “Sometimes, he sleeps at Panashe’s house or at his wife Mitchell’s house, so it’s as if now he has two wives.”

Chimombe’s affair with Panashe allegedly started between 2009-2010. The sources revealed that Chimombe once attempted to marry Panashe.

Jilted lover demands gifts back. This came to light when Rudaviro Muchere approached the Harare Civil court for a protection order against Benito Kasondo, who is her ex-lover. “He said he wants all the money he gave me when we were still dating.

A Harare woman has been physically, and verbally, abused by her ex-boyfriend, who is claiming the gifts he gave her during their relationship.

“He also came and took away the wardrobe he bought for me. “I now live in fear as he beats me, verbally abuses me and also threatens to kill me by burning me in the house I am staying in.

“We had land where we planted crops together but now he is barring me from going to the piece of land,” Muchere said.

Kasondo was in default. Magistrate Sharon Mashavire ordered him not to abuse Muchere. He was also ordered to allow his ex access to the fields.

Bereaved Kuwadzana family blames actor Timmy for the accident that killed their relative

Bereaved Kuwadzana family blames actor Timmy for the accident that killed their relative. Clement Madzivire (33) succumbed to injuries sustained in a road traffic accident along Bulawayo Road, near the Kuwadzana Roundabout.

A Harare family has accused television personality Timothy Tapfumaneyi of allegedly being complicit in the death of one of their members. Madzivire, who is survived by his wife and four-month-old child, was buried in Harare on Monday.

He suffered serious injuries in an accident in which a car, which the family claims was being driven by Tapfumaneyi, of the Timmy na Bonzo fame, rammed into a kombi. Another injured member of the family is in the Intensive Care Unit at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

However, there are reports Tapfumaneyi was a passenger in the car. Madzivire’s relatives claim Timmy was at fault. They have reported him to the police, under case number OB 4995756. Speaking to H-Metro yesterday, Learnmore — the elder brother of the late Clement, said he was not happy with the way the issue was being handled.

“We were surprised that days after the accident happened, we are still being referred from one person to another at the police station. “We want justice to prevail. “At the police, we were told to have a round-table discussion with Timmy, but what is the round-table for?

“We just need justice to be served,” said Learnmore. He said he showed the police “proof” that Timmy was responsible for the accident but he was not being taken seriously. “We are deep in mourning and when we ask questions, we are being brushed off.

“The powers that be should ensure that justice is delivered,” said Learnmore. Contacted yesterday, Timmy told H-Metro he was not behind the wheels when the accident occurred.

“I was not driving,” he said. “I was just a passenger and, therefore, it is not my duty to report the case. “The law states that the one driving should report the case.”

However, when he was interviewed, soon after the accident, he said there were no serious injuries although his car had been seriously damaged. H-Metro exclusively carried the report about the accident.

“I am happy I survived the accident, there were no serious injuries although my car was seriously damaged due to the impact,” Timmy told us, on the night of the accident.

Chaos in Harare as police destroy gambling machines

Chaos in Harare as police destroy gambling machines. The destruction of the slot machines was witnessed by dignitaries from the gaming industry. Lotteries and Gaming Board Interim secretary, Dr Misheck Chingozha, said illegal gaming was not good news to legitimate operators.

Police have destroyed illegal gambling machines which had found their way into various pubs. “Legitimate gambling is a pillar of society and Government revenue streams,” he said. “Leakages that come with illegal gaming are then not only evil but destructive to both the socio-economic fibre and standing of a nation.”

Dr Chingozha said criminality has no place within progressive communities. “There is no fairness that comes with smuggling unapproved gambling devices,” he said.

“We will descend heavily on such errant citizens who seek to cause unnecessary hemorrhage to our economy, promote money laundering and deflate all efforts towards the attainment of the 2030 National Vision.”

Dr Chingozha urged the public to be on the lookout for people operating illegal gambling machines. “People should raise the red flag,” he said

“We cannot have unscrupulous, fly-by-night operators ripping our punters of their hard-earned dollars in anticipation of a fair Return to Player yet that will remain a wild goose chase.”

Chaplain Superintendent, Munyaradzi Tundu, said illegal gambling was a cancer. “Illegal gambling is perpetuating crimes in the country and it is very worrisome because they destroy the livelihoods of people,” he said.

Casino Association representative, Malvin Ndlovu, said illegal gambling was a source of money laundering. “Illegal gambling is being used as a source of money laundering which our country is trying so hard to eradicate,” he said.

“Illegal casinos are not helping to build the country but rather destroy it because they are not registered and they have no income that they bringing to the country. “So, we are saying no to illegal gambling, everyone who wants to operate a casino should register and pay taxes or they risk having their machinery confiscated.”

Woman gets divorced after claiming maintenance whilst leaving with the baby’s father. A bid to claim maintenance from her husband, while still under the same roof, has cost a Chitungwiza woman her marriage. Chipo says she is now staying with her mother.

Chipo Choga was chased out of the house by her husband, Norman Takawira, after claiming maintenance for her two minor children.

Their differences came to light when Chipo appeared at the Harare Civil Court claiming $7500 per month from Takawira.

Chipo claims Norman is not taking full responsibility of his children. “He buys groceries in the house once or twice a year. “He pays school fees and takes children to school when he wants,” she said.

She said her husband has a truck he hires out but he brings nothing home to help support his children. However, Noman said he wants to support his children but he had nothing to offer for now.

“I can manage to give her $1000 per month because I am not working these days. “I have another wife, and four children, who also need my support, yet I am not working,” he said.

The husband also added he pays electricity bills and provides meat, which he gets from the farm, to the family. Magistrate Nyasha Marufu ordered Noman to pay $10 000 per month starting from February 28, 2022.

Mambo Dhuterere shoots down Valentine’s Day. He criticised people who prioritise and value gifts as a sign of real love. Mambo Dhuterere said love was an appreciation of genuine effort done with good intentions.

Award-winning traditional gospel singer, Darlington ‘Mambo Dhuterere’ Mutseta, says Valentine’s Day is not a measure of true love.

“Someone can really love you wholeheartedly but they may fail to buy you gifts at that moment. It also does not matter how big or expensive the gift might be because in some cases, it doesn’t show sacrifice.

“Someone might take a dollar from a thousand dollars and the other might borrow ten cents to add on another 10 cents to buy a 20 cents gift.

“Someone, who really loves you, will appreciate everything you do because love cherishes the effort you put,” said Mambo Dhuterere.

The Mweya Ndisesekedze singer added that people should not feel stressed by events like Valentine’s Day, because it is not a measure of real love. “You should not feel pressured or made to feel like you did nothing.

“If that happens, it clearly means that those you are in a relationship with are not your type. You should not remain in such kind of relationships because they are not healthy,” he said.

Mambo Dhuterere is well known for giving his opinions on some controversial and sensitive topics. He once made statements on topics such as abortion and infidelity which generated fierce debate on social media.

Update on Charles Yohane’s death in SA. Charles Yohane was shot dead in South Africa by armed carjackers. Details are still sketchy but a family member confirmed that they received news about Yohane’s death and were traveling to South Africa on Wednesday.

Yohane’s close friend and former Orlando Pirates defender Innocent Chikoya who also hails from Mbare has been communicating with the family in Zimbabwe. Yohane was 48. Reports said his body was found in Mzimhlope, Soweto.

The Zimbabwean football community was plunged into mourning last night after tragic news emerged from South Africa that former Warriors left-back, Charles Yohane, was killed in an apparent hijack.

While the news was widely reported, with one of the leading voices in the media in local football, Steve Vickers of StarFM, tweeting on the sad developments, no official comment could be obtained from the Yohane family last night.

No confirmation, too, could be obtained from the police in South Africa. Former Zimbabwe international defender, Alexander “Cool Ruler” Maseko, who has been resident in South Africa for some time, said he was yet to get official confirmation.

Maseko said a number of former Warriors stars, who are based in South Africa, were deeply concerned about the news, which broke out yesterday, but he could not provide any confirmation.

The Chronicle newspaper, in Bulawayo, also broke the news on their official Twitter handle, last night. “Former Warriors player, Charles Yohane was hijacked and killed in South Africa,” the newspaper tweeted.

Vickers also turned to Twitter and his tweet provoked a wave of sadness from the local football community. “Tragic news that former Zimbabwe, CAPS and Wits left-back Charles Yohane has been hijacked and killed in South Africa at the age of 48,” read Vickers’ tweet.

“He was in the Warriors squad for 2004 AFCON. “Was coaching the Wits developmental side in SA. “He was working as a taxi driver.” Former Warriors fitness coach, Gerald Maguranyanga, was one of those who responded to the tweet.

“Bitter news, was an integral part of our @AFCON 2004 squad at LB (left-back). Late S/Mail Sports Editor TG (Tinaye Garande) used to call him ‘the thinking man’s footballer.’

“Second guy (after Adam Ndlovu) from 2004 Class to die. Yohane had a special relationship with @AloisBunjira14 (Aloid Bunjira).

“May his soul Rest In Peace”

Mighty Warrior’s Kwinji 15 says they are ready. The winners of the two-legged battle will qualify for the finals. “The preparations are going on well, we are happy with the progress of the players.

Mighty Warriors coach, Sithethelelwe ‘Kwinji 15’ Sibanda, says they are good to go for their 2022 AWCON qualifier against Botswana at the National Sports Stadium on Friday.

“And, I’m fine with the locally-based players, obviously, they won’t be 100 percent fit but they have been showing a lot of progress in training.”

The rest of her foreign-based contingent was expected to be in camp yesterday.

“We are still expecting them today (yesterday) and we just have to train with them and we will integrate them with the team.

“We just have to see what they’ve been doing that side and see how best they can help us and what really they can bring into the team.

“But, I’m thinking they will be key in this encounter as they’ve been in a better footballing area, in terms of finding game time, and training, compared to the locally-based players. “So, yeah, let’s see, as we integrate them, how they will come up and let’s see how they will perform,” she said.
