AKA reacts to Cassper Nyovest losing against Naakmusiq

AKA was labelled a “petty Betty” after he poked fun at his nemesis Cassper Nyovest’s defeat against his boxing match opponent Naakmusiq on Saturday night.

Cassper emerged as the loser for the celebrity boxing match, which he labelled the “fight of the year”. And despite insisting he would “Naak him out”, the 31-year-old rapper was left with egg on his face after Boxing SA judges ruled in his opponent’s favour.

Taking to his social media page hours after the match, AKA posted a cryptic post that read “LOL” [laugh out loud]. The post was in no doubt in reference to Cassper losing the highly-anticipated match.

AKA and Cassper have a years-long history of beefing and have vowed to never make amends The duo were even scheduled to fight each other in an announcement made in 2020. But a year later, the fight was called off, after Cassper claimed his father had begged him not to fight AKA.

Now fans – especially fans of Cass – are slamming AKA’s low-blow social media post.

Bro petty AF

What are you laughing at? Drink water and go to sleep

You can ‘LOL’ all you want fact of the matter is you’re scared to get in the ring with that man cos you know he’ll turn that face blue. Step in there and lets see what you made off

Its easy to ‘LOL’ from the sideline. But if you are not going to step up to the plate then that’s fan behavior

Meanwhile, Cassper Nyovest took to Twitter himself to admit defeat.

He tweeted of the experience: “What a f**king amazing night! Sun City packed to come watch boxing and it all started with a dream to bring boxing to the big stage. Took an L, but we come back stronger.

Cassper then revealed that he was open for a rematch against Naakmusiq.

He added: “We will hear from the other team when they want the rematch. I say three months would be enough and we get back in”.

Dozens of Ukrainians found in grave near Kyiv as battle looms in east

A grave with dozens of civilians has been found in Buzova village near Kyiv, a Ukrainian official said, the latest reported mass grave to be discovered after Russian forces withdrew from areas north of the capital to focus their assault on the east.

Taras Didych, head of the Dmytrivka community that includes Bulova, said the bodies were found in a ditch near a petrol station. He said the number of dead had yet to be confirmed.

“Now we are returning to life but during the occupation we had our ‘hotspots’, many civilians died,” Didych told Ukrainian television late on Saturday.

Reuters was not immediately able to confirm the report. Mounting civilian casualties have triggered widespread international condemnation and new sanctions, in particular over hundreds of deaths in the town of Bucha, to the northwest of Kyiv that until just over a week ago was occupied by Russian forces.

Russia has rejected allegations by Ukraine and Western countries of war crimes. It has denied targetting civilians in what it calls a “special operation” to demilitarise and”denazify” its southern neighbour. Ukraine and Western nations have dismissed this as a baseless pretext for war.

Russia has failed to take one major city since invading on February 24 but Ukraine says Russia is gathering its forces in the east for a major assault and has urged people to flee.

Russia is seeking to establish a land corridor from Crimea, which it annexed in 2014, and the eastern Donbas region, which is partly held by Moscow-backed separatists, Britain’s defense ministry said.

In an address late on Saturday, he renewed his appeal to Western allies for a complete embargo on Russian energy products and more weapons for Ukraine.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Saturday and pledged armoured vehicles and anti-ship missile systems, along with additional support for World Bank loans.

Britain will also ratchet up its sanctions on Russia and move away from using Russian hydrocarbons, Johnson said.

The European Union on Friday adopted new sanctions against Russia, including bans on the import of coal, wood, chemicals and other products. Oil and gas imports from Russia remain untouched.

Johnson, speaking to reporters with Zelenskyy, said support for Ukraine was intended to ensure it “can never be bullied again, never will be blackmailed again, never will be threatened in the same way again”.

Johnson was the latest foreign leader to visit Kyiv after Russian forces pulled back from the area, marking a return to some degree of normality for the capital. Italy said it planned to re-open its embassy this month.

Footage of AKA’s misfortune after he was mobbed and robbed has been doing the rounds on social media.

Rapper AKA is fuming after he was robbed while on tour in Malawi over the weekend. The super mega was in Malawi at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Science’s social weekend in Blantyre as one of the main performers.

It is believed that during the climax of his performance, AKA decided to crowd surf. A decision he later regretted as an unidentified “fan” saw the opportunity to steal his shoes. AKA was forced to walk barefoot after his Nike Jordans were stripped off him during the crowd surfing drama.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the musician also lost his wristwatch when he joined the crowd.

Kiernan was the international headliner at the event alongside Malawi’s South African-based audio producer cum musician Gemini Major.

Days before the event, AKA had been promoting the show on his social media handles and no one would have thought he was going to get robbed.

“I am going live because I have not been on Instagram the entire day, everyone thinks I am dogging Pabi Cooper and I am so sad about that,” she said.

She then went on to explain how everything she does is misconstrued, “why must everything I do be taken so f****ed up, how come you guys always think I am being an a******.”

Pearl also revealed that she texted Pabi,” I have texted Pabi Cooper to be like, ‘omg, this confusion is so sad,”

Faith Nketsi allegedly tie the knot

Many South Africans were introduced to Faith Nketsi when she was part of a twerking dance crew called the Pro Twerkers. At the time, she went by the name Queen Twerk and after a couple of years, she became an infamous character in the entertainment industry.

Before becoming a reality star, the beauty was involved in a few scandals, most notably the time she allegedly mistakenly posted an intimate video of her and her then-partner. In the now-infamous video, Faith could be seen performing a s.e.xual act.

Unfortunately for Faith, that was not the last time she was under the harsh spotlight. A couple of years ago, Faith was embroiled in an alleged s.e.x scandal that had the potential to ruin her life. Social media users accused Faith and her then business partner, Tebogo Thobejane, of allegedly being pimps, a claim which she and Tebogo have vehemently denied.

In her first television interview, Faith cleared her name and set the record straight on Feline Management, the company in question, “That was one of the toughest weeks for me when that tweet came out…first of all…I lost a lot of work, and to just clear it, guys, it is not true, there is no such thing…what this person said and what he said I do…is deeper than me trending…girls were DM’ing me saying that they want to be a part of this…he made me realize that there’s a deeper problem here, girls were saying I can do that, sending me naked pictures of themselves, saying I can do that I don’t mind…”

After that scandal, Faith distanced herself from those allegations and focused on rebranding. In 2019, Faith bagged her own MTV reality show, titled, Have Faith, which made her the first woman in Africa to have her own reality show on the Viacom-owned station.

In the show, we saw her work towards achieving her goals and we also had a glimpse into dating her life, In the first season, she dated a guy named Thami and when the show came back for a second season, the pair had already broken up.

As the episodes progressed, Faith told the viewers that she was in a relationship with a new man, and in one of the episodes, the man surprised her with a brand new Range Rover.

It seems as though Faith and her boyfriend, Nzuzu Njilo, have taken their relationship to the next level. On Saturday, the 9th of April, Popcorn Room alleged that Faith was getting married and it seems like the rumours are true, today, the media personality added Njilo (her boyfriend’s surname) to her Instagram name.

Taking to social media, her fans congratulated her. Take a look at the posts below:

MDC Alliance councillors to allegedly ditch Douglas Mwonzora before 2023 elections

MDC Alliance’s Bulawayo Ward Two Councillor Joyce Ndlovu has claimed that the majority of the party’s Councillors are planning to abandon MDC-T president Douglas Mwonzora during the last days of their terms, that is, just before the 2023 general elections.

Mwonzora claims to be the leader of all MDC Alliance MPs and Councillors, and over the past two years, he has recalled dozens who refused to recognise his leadership.

However, some MDC Alliance MPs and Councillors have been hobnobbing with the CCC led by Nelson Chamisa, especially after the MDC-T/MDC Alliance failed to win a single parliamentary or local authority seat in the 26 March by-elections.

Ndlovu attended a caucus meeting of CCC Councillors two weeks ago despite her being an MDC Alliance Councillor. She accused her colleagues of hypocrisy for exposing her for attending a CCC meeting.

In leaked audio to the councillors’ WhatsApp group, Ndlovu also called Mwonzora “dull” for believing that he has the support of MDC Alliance Councillors in Bulawayo. She said:

MDC-T president Mwonzora is dull. If he was clever he would recall all the sell-outs from Bulawayo because from this group there is not even one councillor going with Mwonzora, the majority of you are saying they will leave him during the last days of your terms.

You are all sellouts you councillors, you went and attended a meeting called by president Chamisa in Harare, who sold you out, there is no councillor who is going with Mwonzora here, they are all lying, they are all sellouts.

I want that sell out now, you thieves, you sit at your house and busy exposing me, that sell out should be exposed so we cut off their nose.

When contacted for a comment by The Sunday News, Ndlovu confirmed that she was indeed the one speaking in the audio and stood by what she said. Added Ndlovu:

Yes, I sent that audio, my fellow councillors are just not honest and are indeed sellouts, the whole lot of them.

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have come to the rescue of communities in Chiredzi rural, on the periphery of the Gonarezhou National Park, who are facing drought-induced hunger.

The area, one of the most marginalized in the country, experiences perennial droughts and high commodity prices coupled with wildlife-human conflict.

The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society (ZRCS) with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has been providing food aid to 600 households over the past four months.

The project is running under the Drought Relief Emergency Fund (DREF). ZRCS secretary-general Elias Hwenga said:

The overall objective of this DREF operation is to anticipate and respond to the emerging food insecurities and to improve the preparedness of the Chiredzi community for the forecasted hydro-meteorological emergencies in light of the normal-to- above normal rainfall forecast.

The imminent emergency preparedness activities are being complemented by early actions that are aimed at mitigating and minimizing the humanitarian impacts of the lean season and anticipated hydro-meteorological hazards.

The operation is also now set to provide immediate assistance to address the basic urgent food security needs of food-insecure households in Chiredzi after the completion of the beneficiary registration exercise.

The food insecurity assistance will be complemented by the provision of WASH and health services to the target wards of Chiredzi.

The operation has seen the distribution of non-food items which are mosquito nets, PPE and hygiene kits.

Brentford 2 – 0 West Ham United

$

Brentford delivered a huge blow to West Ham’s top-four hopes as the Bees moved further clear of the relegation places with victory in west London.

Second-half goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney saw Thomas Frank’s side climb to 13th in the table, 12 points clear of the bottom three, to all but confirm their Premier League safety.

Mbeumo fired in from Toney’s pass shortly after half-time, before turning provider for his team-mate as Toney headed in after 64 minutes.

The hosts had appeared the more likely to break the deadlock before half-time, but the heavily-involved Mbeumo headed at Lukasz Fabianski and also saw a powerful strike pushed away by the West Ham goalkeeper.

The visitors managed only one shot on target – a first-half Tomas Soucek header – in a subdued display, while Kurt Zouma was forced off early with an ankle problem ahead of Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final second leg in Lyon.

West Ham remains sixth, six points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham in the race for Champions League football, having also played a game more than Spurs.

There was no shortage of motivation for West Ham, after defeats for fellow top-four hopefuls, Arsenal and Manchester United on Saturday left the fight for the European positions wide open.

But, with the game falling between two huge meetings with Lyon, the Hammers struggled against a Brentford side full of confidence following their memorable 4-1 win over Chelsea last week.

Instead, it was the hosts who maintained their fine form at the end of their first Premier League season, deservedly securing a fourth win in five league games.

That upturn in results has coincided with the signing of Christian Eriksen, who once again produced a superb midfield display to offer the base for Brentford’s superior attacking output.

The hosts had been by far the more fluent in the final third in the opening 45 minutes, recording nine shots to the Hammers’ two, but Mbeumo in particular was unable to capitalise with any of his five attempts.

They made their chances count in the second half, though, as the 22-year-old Mbeumo seized his first opportunity after the restart before his looping cross allowed Toney to put the game beyond West Ham.

David Moyes called on Said Benrahma and Nikola Vlasic from the bench in the hope of inspiring a fightback, with Benrahma seeing a deflected effort drop onto the roof of the net.

Brentford had further chances to extend their advantage too, Mbeumo notably shooting over at close range, but their misses did not prove costly as another excellent result was secured.

It is now all eyes on Lyon for West Ham, who must rest up and regroup quickly as they attempt to secure the club’s first European semi-final since 1976.

Nelson Chamisa shifts focus to rural areas

CCC president Nelson Chamisa is targeting to increase the opposition’s rural vote, with a focus on mobilizing the youth to register as voters.

Speaking in an interview with the publication, CCC Midlands spokesperson Takavafira Zhou said Chamisa, who visited the Midlands structures on Friday, instructed leadership to campaign in rural areas. Said Zhou:

The President… highlighted the need to amplify CCC’s rural strategy and stressed that CCC’s major thrust would be on growing rural votes, with an immediate inundation strategy of rural areas to mobilize youths to register to vote.

He also stressed the need to reform Zec so that it can conduct free, fair, and credible results.

But most importantly, CCC would ensure that people vote en masse for it and protect the votes in 2023.

His message was more on CCC accountability, transparency and equity; and servant leadership that would ensure better things for all Zimbabweans in order to fulfil the legacy of the liberation struggle.

Zhous said Chamisa was in Midlands Province to thank voters following the CCC’s victory in three constituencies in the province in the 26 March by-elections. Zhou said:

The president came to thank the citizens for firing yellow warning shots in a warmup or dress rehearsal for 2023.

Gokwe received the greatest commendation in light of the increased votes and rigging that ensued.

Out of 5 contested constituencies, CCC emerged victorious in 3 constituencies. President Chamisa reiterated the need to put citizens at the centre of CCC’s struggle for egalitarianism.

Candidate selection for CCC for 2023 would be determined by citizens before the end of 2022, and the days of double candidates would be a thing of the past as the President would directly sign for all candidates.

CCC candidates won Kwekwe Central, Mbizo and Mkoba but lost in Gokwe Central and Mberengwa South.

Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) CEO, Adelaide Chikunguru, has reportedly ordered the closure of all ZBC-related Whatsapp groups.

The publication reported a source at ZBC as saying Chikunguru gave the order verbally, on Friday, during a works council meeting.

She reportedly said the WhatsApp groups were being used to leak the company’s confidential information. Said the source:

She ordered the disbandment of all ZBC Whatsapp groups as she alleges that employees were leaking in-house communication to the press and social media influencers.

ZBC had three groups in which employees engaged to discuss work-related issues as well as their social issues.

They were also useful in communication between employees and the workers’ committee.

We also used them to mobilize funds to assist each other in times of need, say someone loses a family member.

The ban was communicated verbally during a works council meeting held on Friday.

She ordered that these groups should be disbanded and those responsible for them have since complied.

The order was against the background of a letter that went viral on social media regarding the delay of the March salaries and the controversy surrounding the purchase of 33 Nissan Navara vehicles which was leaked to the press.

Chikunguru was appointed ZBC substantive CEO in June last year. She was the Group Corporate Communications Executive at Tongaat Hulett.

She took over from Helliate Rushwaya, who had been acting in the position for 13 months.

Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) youths attempted to block former MDC-T deputy president Thokozani Khupe from attending a CCC Bulawayo provincial assembly meeting on Saturday.

The CCC youths barred Khupe from attending the meeting which was addressed by the opposition party’s leader, Nelson Chamisa, at McDonald Hall in Bulawayo, accusing her of being a sellout. One of the youths said:

Khupe, you are not welcome here. All along you were dining and wining with (President Emmerson) Mnangagwa, busy plotting the destruction our party.

You even recalled from parliament some of our leaders whom you want to meet today. Are you not ashamed of what you did?

Chamisa rebuked the youths for their intolerance, saying he did not invite Khupe to the meeting but as a citizen, she had a right to attend the meeting. Said Chamisa:

I am not a leader of a violent people; I am not a leader of a violent community and I will never accept violence.

This is why I left MDC to form a peaceful organization with God-fearing supporters.

I do not want this coalition to resemble a Mnangagwa organization or even that of Mugabe.

I am not happy with those youths who are blocking Khupe. I did not invite her, but she has the right, as a citizen, to be in this meeting.

Khupe later tweeted that she had attended her “first meeting as a CCC member addressed by President Chamisa in Bulawayo Macdonald Hall”.

Last month Khupe endorsed Chamisa and CCC candidates ahead of the 26 March by- elections.

CCC leadership is divided on whether to accept Khupe as a member due to her former close association with President Emmerson Mnangagwa when she was a member of the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD).

Leicester City 2 – 1 Crystal Palace

Leicester continued their fine run of recent form as homegrown talent Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall played a starring role in a hard-earned win over Crystal Palace.

The Foxes started slowly at the King Power Stadium but Dewsbury-Hall carved Palace open with a superb ball for Ademola Lookman to fire home, before whipping his own finish high into the net six minutes later.

The 23-year-old’s moments of quality proved telling in a fixture both sides could have been forgiven for looking past given their mid-table status and with key cup fixtures in the coming week.

Palace – who missed early chances through Wilfried Zaha, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Joachim Andersen – refused to give in after the break and Youri Tielemans’ foul on Jordan Ayew in the penalty area offered them a route back into the match.

Zaha saw his penalty saved and when VAR pointed to encroachment in the area by home defender Caglar Soyuncu, his retaken penalty was also palmed away by Kasper Schmeichel, only for the Ivory Coast international to head in the rebound.

It prompted a spirited 10 minutes from Palace – who went close through a Jeffrey Schlupp flick – but their seven-game unbeaten run ends. Leicester now has four wins and a draw from their past six league games – a form that lifts them to ninth in the table, one place above the beaten visitors.

A closely matched game – possession was 50-50, while Leicester managed just one more shot than their visitors – was arguable to be expected given two sides enjoying very similar fortunes.

Leicester did not pick up a league win for all of January and February but has found late-season form. Palace won just once over the same period and have themselves found momentum deep in the campaign.

Throw in the fact that Leicester faces a key Europa Conference League second leg against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday while Palace have one eye on next Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Chelsea and it would be easy to see why either side might have opted to preserve energy.

And Leicester’s seven changes from their 0-0 first-leg draw with PSV appeared to cause a lack of cohesion that Palace might have exploited.

But the visitors were unable to take half-chances and Dewsbury-Hall made them pay by reversing a defence-splitting pass into Lookman’s path for the opener before patiently creating shooting space of his own for a rifled second.

The 23-year-old was certainly not coasting. He ran further than anyone else on the pitch – clocking 11.3km – and hit a higher top speed than anyone in his sprints.

“It means so much,” he said of his goal. “It’s a dream come true to score in the Premier League. I have dreamt it since I was a little boy. I have come close but I am so happy today.”

Palace, who have not ended a top-flight campaign higher than 10th since finishing third 1990-91, will rue a period late in the first half when they slackened off and let the Foxes in. Dewsbury-Hall’s assist saw them opened too easily, while his goal owed much to a missed clearance by Marc Guehi in the build-up.

When they did rally, Zaha was integral to the improvement and his form will offer confidence for next week’s semi-final.

After scoring, he fought admirably to conjure an equaliser, notably when teeing up Schlupp who saw his flick blocked by a sea of Leicester bodies.

Norwich City 2 – 0 Burnley

Bottom club Norwich City kept alive their slim hopes of avoiding a quick-fire return to the Championship and dealt a blow to fellow strugglers Burnley with a crucial win at Carrow Road.

Pierre Lees-Melou’s first goal since signing from Nice for £3.5m last July and Teemu Pukki’s 86th-minute finish settled a tense relegation scrap – and earned the Canaries only their fifth Premier League victory since winning promotion last season.

French midfielder Lees-Melou’s ninth-minute deflected shot, which went in off the post, put the hosts on their way before Pukki drilled home the second to give Norwich a glimmer of hope of staying up, with Dean Smith’s side now seven points from safety with seven matches left.

Burnley had their moments, with Maxwel Cornet, the match-winning hero against Everton in midweek, missing a glorious chance from three yards out.

In what was a must-win game, Norwich’s defence came under relentless pressure at times but recorded back-to-back clean sheets in the league for the first time since October.

The result leaves the Clarets 18th in the table, four points from safety with eight matches remaining.

With struggling Everton beating Manchester United on Saturday, Norwich started Sunday’s game 10 points from safety with eight matches left.

But Smith’s side passed the pressure test in style with the first win in nine league games.

It will still require a monumental effort for them to survive. Three of their final seven matches include teams challenging for Europe – West Ham (home), Tottenham (home) and Manchester United (away).

Smith said before the match he still had belief, and his players responded with a thoroughly professional performance against a team with renewed belief following their win over Everton.

Even before Lees-Melou’s goal, Milot Rashica forced Nick Pope into a diving save, while the Burnley keeper denied Pukki by saving with his legs.

Just as impressive for Smith was his side’s performance at the back.

Norwich made several vital blocks to frustrate Burnley, including one by former Clarets defender Ben Gibson to keep out Ashley Westwood’s volley.

In the closing stages, Norwich’s Grant Hanley headed against the bar while Pope denied Rashica before Pukki had home fans celebrating a rare win.

Cornet will have nightmares about his 65th-minute miss, just days after he left the pitch at Turf Moor with fans singing his name following his late winner against Everton on Wednesday.

He looked certain to equalise as he slid to meet Dwight McNeil’s lovely pass, but somehow put it wide as Burnley failed to score for the 15th time in the league this season.

Earlier, Cornet was denied by Tim Krul, but the Norwich keeper was not tested nearly enough in what was a high-stakes game.

Sean Dyche will still believe his side can climb out of trouble in the closing weeks, and they still have to meet fellow strugglers Watford on 30 April. But Burnley’s survival hopes to fade with each game without a win.

Substitute Matej Vydra headed against the bar in the closing moments before Josh Brownhill was frustrated by Krul, but the damage was already done.

Manchester City retained their slender one-point advantage at the top of the Premier League as they fought out a classic draw with closest rivals Liverpool at Etihad Stadium.

The meeting between the country’s two outstanding sides lived up to its pre-match billing and in the end there was nothing to separate them, with the destination of the title still hanging in the balance with seven games remaining.

City flew out of the blocks to take an early lead through Kevin de Bruyne’s deflected strike but Liverpool were quickly on terms when Diogo Jota turned home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pass.

Pep Guardiola’s side dominated a magnificent first 45 minutes but failed to convert a host of chances before Gabriel Jesus stole in behind Alexander-Arnold to restore their lead from Joao Cancelo’s cross nine minutes before the break.

Liverpool had been strangely nervous but came out rejuvenated after the re-start, equalising when Sadio Mane celebrated his 30th birthday by scoring from Mohamed Salah’s perfect pass in the 47th minute.

Raheem Sterling had a goal ruled out for offside as both sides pressed for a winner in this superb match, City substitute Riyad Mahrez wasting a chance to win it in the dying seconds as he lifted his finish over the top.

As of 2022, he has an estimated net worth of R240 million. However, several sources have it that he is way more prosperous than his known net worth since he runs several businesses not registered in his name. In the mix of things, he is yet to address these daring rumours. Of interest is the fact that he is rumoured to be 28-years-old.

He owns a fleet of trucks and usually shares a series of posts to show for it. Rumour mill has it that he is the youngest South African to a large fleet of trucks in the trucking business. No doubt, a huge chunk of his net worth comes from his trucking business since he offers his services beyond Mzansi. Like those before him, he has several business interests in tourism and hospitality and is majoring in real estate.

Unconfirmed reports have it that he also has shares in Nduduzo Funeral Services in Edendale. The Funeral Service was founded by his father in 1998. Currently, Phumlani Njilo doubles as the CEO of Induduzo Bespoke Funerals.
