A couple of years ago, Gugu Gumede was thrust into the spotlight when she bagged the role of Mamlambo on Uzalo and since then, her life has changed drastically.

The actress went from not being known to being super famous as a result of being on the most-watched show in South Africa.

A couple of months ago, Gugu stunned her fans when she announced that she was pregnant with her first baby. The actress who keeps her private life out of the spotlight announced the news after fans thought that she would be leaving the show that made her star.

Taking to Instagram, Gugu penned a heartfelt note that was honoring her late mother while announcing her pregnancy, “I have often been asked where I got the strength to continue after my mother’s passing – I got it from my unborn child. At her funeral, as I stood at the podium and spoke on my queen’s behalf, I was not alone. The strongest heart was beating inside of me, reviving me. I am alive today because of it,” she wrote in part.

She then went on to continue, “My baby, you are your grandmother’s answered prayer. She was so excited to meet you; even though you did not get to meet in the physical realm, I know she is currently holding you in the spiritual. My darling, every move and every kick of yours within me is a testament of both God and my mother’s continued love for me. You have changed me in ways that are inexplicable. We cannot wait to meet you,” she concluded.

Shortly after debuting her baby bump, Gugu announced that she had given birth to a baby girl. Taking to Instagram, Gugu shared the great news, at the time, she wrote, “Exactly a month ago, my life became the greatest testimony. My daughter, may the heavens pave a way for your greatness, and may they always go to war on your behalf. You are so dearly loved!…Come to me correct y’all, I’m someone’s mother.”

The City of Bulawayo will rename 3rd Street after Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta despite him no longer coming to officially open the 2022 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

In an interview with State media, Bulawayo mayor Councillor Solomon Mguni said that even though Kenyatta had cancelled his trip to Zimbabwe, the honour still remains. Mguni said:

We have done our formalities after receiving the request from the central government. This included identification of the road for renaming.

We are aware that President Kenyatta is no longer coming to Zimbabwe due to the death of former President Kibaki, but the honour still remains.

… 3rd Street which starts from Park Road to the intersection of Ascot Way and Esigodini Road and also a portion of Esigodini Road stretching from 3rd Street up to the intersection of Cecil Avenue and Esigodini Road.

Bulawayo Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mlandu Ncube had proposed that it was best to rename a road close to the ZITF grounds after the Kenyan leader.

Local Government and Public Works Minister July Moyo requested Bulawayo City Council to rename a road after Kenyatta in terms of the Names (Alteration) Act.

Kenyatta cancelled his visit to Zimbabwe for the trade fair following the death of Kenya’s former president, Mwai Kibaki.

Kibaki died last Thursday aged 90 and President Kenyatta declared a mourning period until his burial.

A HARARE man sensationally claims he sometimes gets possessed by an evil spirit that leads him into abusing his wife.

This was revealed in court yesterday where Christian Chatamborare accused her husband, Archifold Murodza, of assaulting her, whenever he was drunk.

Chitamborare was seeking a protection order against Murodza.

In her submissions, Chitamborare claimed her husband once attempted to burn their house down.

“I don’t know what l have done wrong to deserve all his treatment, he is abusive towards me for no reason.

“l am now living in fear that he might end my life since he once attempted to burn our house down by opening a gas tank,” she said.

Responding to the allegations, Murodza claimed he was also a victim of some evil spirits.

“l think there is a spirit that possesses me and I seriously need help,” said Murodza.

According to reports, the station stated that Anele Mdoda will use the two months to participate in a series of global masterclasses in different countries to ‘reimagine 947’s Anele and The Club breakfast show’ and that she will return to her radio show in July.

On their official website, they wrote, “Anele’s Future-Fit Master-Classes will enable her to reimagine 947’s Anele and The Club breakfast show, whereby she will be exploring new and emerging broadcasting and entertainment trends plus interrogating global best practices that will invigorate the show on her return.”

Zolisa Xaluva has shed light on reports about his exit from Mzansi Magic’s drama series Gomora, saying he left because of his tight schedule, making his leaving on good terms.

This follows after director M-Net local entertainment channels Shirley Adonisi shared a statement with the publication revealing Zolisa was going off-screen and thanking him for his contribution to the series.

“Telenovelas are designed to carry different key story arcs and these evolve seasonally. It, therefore, goes without saying that characters come and go. Gomora season 2 was based on a love triangle built around Melusi, Thati, and Gladys. Season 2 culminated with Melusi losing Thati to another man and divorcing Gladys.

“In season 3 the major story plot is centred around Sonto’s devastation as she is forced to watch Thati becoming the worst version of herself. The new season promises to be riveting, as viewers expect with Mzansi Magic productions. Zolisa is in production on a Netflix feature film portraying a football player who plays for one of the big three clubs in SA.

Fans will see Zolisa in an upcoming Showmax series called Blood Psalms, playing the general of an ancient army. The show is set to go on screen in May.

– 3 each skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
– 1 (8 ounces) package of lasagna noodles
– 1 tablespoon of butter
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 2 teaspoons minced garlic
– 2 (26.5 ounces) cans of spaghetti sauce, divided
– 2 (15 ounces) containers of part-skim ricotta cheese
– ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, or more to taste
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– ½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Directions / Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2

Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat and add chicken breasts; reduce heat and let simmer until chicken falls apart easily with a fork and is no longer pink, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain water, shred chicken with 2 forks and set aside.

Step 3

While the chicken is boiling, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain and lay noodles in a single, flat layer on a paper towel to dry.

Step 4

Heat butter in a small saute pan over medium-high heat. Saute onion and garlic in the hot butter just until the onion is translucent, 5 to 7 minutes.

Step 5

Mix shredded chicken, onion-garlic mixture, 1 cup spaghetti sauce, ricotta cheese, 1/2 of the Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning together in a large bowl.

Step 6

Mix remaining spaghetti sauce and remaining Parmesan cheese together in another bowl. Spread a thin layer on the bottom of a glass 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, spread the chicken mixture on top, and then add another thin layer of the sauce mixture. Repeat, leaving a final layer of noodles on top. Top with remaining sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella and Cheddar cheese on top.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven until heated through and cheese bubbles, about 45 minutes.

The publication alleges that Faith posted the journalist’s personal information on her Instagram stories and that the personal information being leaked resulted in their journalist being allegedly harassed.

In South Africa, leaking someone’s personal information is against the law and it goes against the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

This is not the first time Faith has found herself in hot water. A couple of years ago, Faith Nketsi and Tebogo Thobejane were accused of allegedly running a s.e.x ring by people after a popular Twitter page posted screenshots of an anonymous person’s story. In an interview on Trending SA, Faith rubbished the rumours, “, “that was one of the toughest weeks for me when that tweet came out, first of all, I lost a lot of work, and to just clear it, guys, it is not true. A HARARE man sustained burns on his face and hands after being attacked by his ex-wife.

The couple is fighting for a house.

The ex-wife, Emilia Muunganirwa, alleges Herbert Zuze was a violent man, who has been assaulting her and taking property from the house.

She has approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against Zuze.

She said:

“He is sending me away from our matrimonial home, which we built together.

“When we divorced, we shared our property equally, and he took some of his blankets with him.

“He came yesterday (Tuesday) and assaulted me, taking the blankets which belonged to me.

“He always threatens to beat me every day until l move out of the house.”

In defence, Zuze said:

“She is lying as she is the one who insults and assaults me.

“At one time, she scalded me with water after I told her to move out of the house.

“I built this house with my first wife but she is fighting for ownership and she is lying that we built it together.

“I went to church for a week and that is when l found her at the house.

“This is our second time here coming for a protection order.”

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi dismissed the application and said the duo was using the court to fight their estate issues.

The evidence we gathered says if you know this Council Sugar Mamma then you will own land in no time… No waiting list nothing just a golden ticket to land ownership in Harare.

A while ago I read a post on Zimeye about a woman who is working as a principal town planner at Cleveland. I read how the woman and her Ben 10 secure and sell council land for their benefit. So I decided to dig a little deeper.

Our efforts were very fruitful as we came across voice recordings that are calls between the Principal Town Planner Rita Chipo Barbara Mugocha and Kudzai Elton Mawondo. The two are believed to be lovers despite the age difference, but then who are we to judge.

45-year-old Mugocha and her 33-year-old boyfriend Mawondo are accomplices in these land deals. The evidence we have suggests that Mawondo gets clients who want either residential or commercial land then he links these clients to the Principal Sugar Mamma, sorry Town Planner.

These two facilitate the sale of the land without the need for a waiting list (if it’s residential land). The whole procedure for commercial land where it’s flighted in a newspaper as a tender and people bid for it is bypassed if you know these two.

Doesn’t it also rig of nepotism if one stays with a lover or are s-exual with them then they process their papers of any application already made by the other lover? What exactly do city laws say about persons of interest?

One of the recordings we have exposes how Mawondo and Mugocha were helping out Kuziva Mamvura of Nengoma Trucking to secure a piece of land. The two lovebirds are heard on the call planning how they will charge Mamvura an extra $1000usd for their benefit.

RETAILERS in Harare have dumped the Zimbabwe dollar and are demanding payment in United States dollars for a number of basic goods such as cooking oil and dairy products.

Some large wholesalers were selling cooking oil, alcohol and dairy products exclusively in US dollars.

Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers (CZR) president Denford Mutashu yesterday said retailers were being “forced” to charge for some basic goods exclusively in US dollars because manufacturers were demanding hard currency because of the weakening local currency.

“The reason why some players are selling exclusively in US$ is because of the value chain challenges they are facing for one to get the cooking oil,” Mutashu said in a telephone interview yesterday.

“The supplier or manufacturer demands foreign currency in advance and it is the reason most formal shops are in disarray because the bulk of their transactions is constituted by swipe and mobile money, which is local money, so in order to get products, someone has to get foreign currency from somewhere.”

Some informal traders in the capital have resorted to either selling all their products in US dollars or selling selected basics like sugar, maize meal, cooking oil, salt and soap exclusively in forex.

Dairy products, rice, beef, poultry products and the Mazoe brand juices have also been added to the US dollar only list.

“For formal business, it’s not practical for them to get foreign currency from the parallel market or participate in the auction for local bids, so the only option left is to sell in foreign currency, particular products, in order for one to be able to procure it again later from the manufacturers,” Mutashu said.

“It’s a value chain issue more than it is a retailer or wholesaler issue. The value chain has now been disrupted. Some producers are saying if you want two trucks of sugar or rice, you pay for one in US dollars and another one using local currency.”

Edible oil expressers are struggling to import raw materials which constitute more than 80% of their requirements, given that local edible oil production is only enough to feed the nation for six or so weeks, due to foreign currency shortages.

The war in Ukraine, where the bulk of global sunflower oil originates, has further hamstrung industry with shipping delays and price hikes of more than 50% as other major oil-producing nations suspended exports to satisfy domestic demand.

Meanwhile, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe allocations for oil imports remained the same.

Efforts to get an official comment from Oil Expressers Association of Zimbabwe (OEAZ) president Busisa Moyo were fruitless.

But OEAZ members confirmed the sector was in crisis and operating at between 10% and 15% capacity compared to between 25% and 30% when COVID-19 hit the country.

“Oil expressers need increased forex to match the increased international crude oil prices which have more than doubled in the last 12 months. The war in Ukraine will further worsen the supply position for cooking oil and will see further increases in the cost of the crude oil,” OEAZ past president Sylvester Mangani said.

Mangani is the chief executive of Surface Wilmar, a Singaporean cooking oil producer which has a majority stake in Olivine Industries.
