Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams has sparked rumours that she is dating legendary sports broadcaster Robert Marawa. This comes after she shared a series of cosy snaps of them together.

Over the long weekend, Nonku shared images of them together at a wine tasting event. This was followed by more images of what looked like a night out with a friend.

Nonku Williams and Robert Marawa

There’s also a video making the rounds on social media of the two sharing drinks and looking cosy at a nightclub. This was shared by entertainment commentator Musa Khawula.

The two television personalities are yet to confirm if anything is happening between them.

Nonku Williams gained popularity in the first season of The Real Housewives of Durban. She stunned many after revealing that she was the late Gospel star, Sfiso Ncwane’s baby mama.

In the second season of the reality television show, Nonku dropped a bombshell after claiming that Sfiso told her that she made a mistake by marrying Ayanda.

“I didn’t wanna share this. He told me that he made a mistake by marrying Ayanda. I want you, I wanna get back together with you.”

Ayanda, who was in the first season of The Real Housewives of Durban explained to Daily Sun the reason she left the show.

“I recently saw a headline that only associated me with the Real Housewives of Durban, and I got annoyed because I have worked so hard building a brand of being a music executive. So for me to be associated with something so small whereas I have worked so hard did not sit well with me, and I decided that the show is not for me as I don’t want to be reduced to just being a housewife, while I have worked so hard for everything that I have,” she revealed.

Before the interview, an insider said, “She feels like the show doesn’t respect her hubby’s legacy, which is something she has been trying to preserve. She carries the show, they are going to have to find someone as strong and as interesting as her brand,” she told the publication.

South African music producer Chicco Twala is all over the news after he was arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting and pointing a firearm at a City Power technician on Sunday night.

According to reports, the incident took place outside his Bloubosrand home studios in the north of Johannesburg when the technicians were responding to a power outage complaint.

He was detained at the Douglasdale police station Monday night and is due to appear at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday on assault and for pointing a firearm, police confirmed.

“We can confirm that a 59-year-old man was arrested today 2 May 2011, for assault and pointing of firearm in Randburg. It is alleged on 1 May 2022, the suspect and the complainant had an altercation where the suspect then pointed the complainant with a firearm. Two toy guns were confiscated from the suspect,” Gauteng police spokesperson Brig Brenda Muridili.

However, Twala said his arrest was proof that he was not above the law as many people have linked him to a cover up in the murder of former Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

The alleged scuffle took place outside his Bloubosrand property in the north of Johannesburg when the technicians were responding to a power outage complaint. Power in the area had been out since Wednesday.

According to City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena, they are yet to restore power in the area as technicians are fearing for their lives.

Mangena said the utility’s test branch located the fault and were working towards repairs and restoration when Twala approached them and told them to leave because he had electricity.

Mzansi musician, Intaba Yase Dubai has parted ways with Ambitiouz Entertainment record label after a royalties saga over featuring Big Zulu’s iMali Eningi hit song.

The royalties issue lasted for over three days and the singer announced quitting music, as he was done with being ill-treated, though, Big Zulu claimed he’s paid all the agreed proceeds of the songs to Intaba’s label.

Ambitiouz also claimed to have paid their artist his money, and further shared receipts on social media, but the singer said he was paid just 3700 monthly.

Returning to Facebook, Intaba Yase who just released an album said he’s parted ways with the label and he won’t be quitting music again.

“Would also like to announce that me and Ambitiouz Entertainment have parted ways. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity and platform they gave me when no one did. Like I said before I am not fighting anyone or Ambitiouz, I don’t like uncertainty. I Almost gave up on music because I was not paid what I deserve and what I worked hard for,” he wrote.

He said he will not be quitting music because it’s his main source of income used in catering for his family.

“Last year I was depressed and frustrated because I was gigging almost every weekend, but come month end i get paid R3,700? After being in-depth reflection on my career, I won’t quit music, I love it and I am passionate about it, most importantly that’s the only source I have to feed my family.”

In conclusion, Intaba said he’s started a new label named 3.7 entertainment.

“I will continue to release beautiful new music under my new Record label 3.7 Entertainment. For any Media Interviews and Bookings kindly please email dubaibookingza@gmail.com or +27 (79) 157-2607.”

LaConco and Jacob Zuma rumoured to be still together

$

Reality show star Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Chonco’s love life continues to set tongues wagging. Her first big splash in 2018 was when Mzansi learned she was former president Jacob Zuma’s love interest.

Although the pair kept their relationship under the wraps, the public learned a couple of years later that they were engaged, and blessed with a baby boy who recently celebrated his first birthday.

The reality show star was recently spotted wearing an engagement ring she allegedly got from Zuma, and she fuelled speculation that they might be still going strong. Social media users are convinced that they are back together following their recent breakup.

@Lwazii_RSA tweeted “They are still together, she was there at Baba’s Birthday Celebration. Saw her on IG of Uzalo producer, Gugu Zuma. She was also on Duduzile Zuma’s story standing with Duduzane who was holding her son – Asakhe.”

LaConco, who is very private about her love life recently opened up to Sorisha Naidoo, about their breakup during the first episode of The Real Housewives of Durban. She said there were many people who interjected with their love and it wasn’t her intention to make it a public thing. “The position I am in… I found love and I stayed true to that love. But unfortunately, there were people who had an interest in that love and made it a public thing when it was not my intention.”

She also shared that she is raising her son with her mother and she didn’t expect this to happen: “No one gets into a relationship, especially if you are young, to face circumstances that I went through. I had to come to a point where I had to accept the situation and these are the circumstances. Okay this is it,” said the reality television star in part.

LaConco who is one of the cast members of Showmax’s hit reality show, hinted at being off the market this season. Her mysterious man Petal remains unknown, but social media users think Petal is Zuma.

She has not been disclosing much information about Petal. Despite being asked by some of the housewives to spill more tea about Petal, she still refuses to do so.

In one of the show’s episodes Petal delivered flowers for her and she revealed that Petal had just purchased a yacht, but it appears that the information is untrue. According to Jojo Robinson, she received insider information about Petal from somewhere.

She claimed Petal is not as wealthy as we were made to believe. She alleged that Petal does not own a Yacht and at some point he was looking for a housemate.

In a live video, she set the record straight about her personality saying she has always been a private person and this is not a new thing. She even mentioned that her siblings share the same sentiments.

“They have been digging information about me. I don’t know if it’s my character but my siblings often say that they are glad that I don’t have any scandals because people would have been talking about them.”.

Liverpool reach Champions League final

$

Liverpool survived a scare against Villarreal to move into the Champions League final – and keep their hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple alive.

The Reds had comfortably won 2-0 in the first leg but that advantage was wiped out after only 41 minutes at a noisy and passionate El Madrigal as the Spanish side pushed for a huge upset.

Boulaye Dia scored Villarreal’s first after only three minutes, converting Etienne Capoue’s pass, before ex-Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin headed in a second from another Capoue cross as the Reds looked rattled.

Liverpool had to improve in the second half and Fabinho put them back in front on aggregate with a shot that went through the legs of Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli in the 62nd minute.

Luis Diaz, whose introduction at half time changed the game after he replaced Diogo Jota, restored Liverpool’s two-goal aggregate advantage with a header at the back post.

Sadio Mane secured Liverpool’s place in their third Champions League final in five seasons with a third goal after taking the ball around Rulli. Villarreal ended the game with 10 men with Capoue sent off late on for two bookable offences.

The Reds will play either Manchester City or Real Madrid at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday, 25 May.

No English side has ever won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup all in the same season, with Liverpool aiming to create history.

Villarreal’s performance in their 2-0 loss at Anfield led one English radio pundit to call the Spanish side a “disgrace” and “pathetic”, despite an incredible run that had seen them eliminate former winners Juventus and Bayern Munich in the previous two rounds.

However, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp knew the tie was not over and warned his side they “would have to be prepared to suffer” in the second leg.

And suffer they did in arguably Liverpool’s worst half of football this season, with passes misplaced, errors made and the side looking uncharacteristically vulnerable.

They made the worst possible start, conceding after only three minutes.

Pervis Estupinan, who scored an own goal at Anfield, provided a cross which was pulled back by Capoue and Dia, inside the six-yard box, reacted quickest to convert from close range.

Dani Parejo shot just wide and Gerard Moreno had an effort blocked before Villarreal, seventh in La Liga and managed by ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery, made it 2-2 on aggregate thanks to Coquelin’s fine header.

Liverpool had to improve in the second half, and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s shot hit the crossbar after taking a huge deflection off Coquelin.

But the breakthrough came with Fabinho’s strike and that led to a capitulation from Villarreal, who conceded three times in a 12-minute spell. Diaz headed in Alexander-Arnold’s cross to give the visitors some breathing space before a rash decision from Rulli saw him sprint off the line with Mane getting there first and finishing into an unguarded goal.

This is the 10th time Liverpool have reached the final of the European Cup or Champions League as they aim to become European champions for a seventh time after successes in 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005 and 2019.

Liverpool’s progress keeps them on course to become the first English side to complete the quadruple.

They already have the Carabao Cup in the trophy cabinet after beating Chelsea on penalties in February and Thomas Tuchel’s side are again the opposition at Wembley for the FA Cup final on 14 May.

Liverpool are one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race and could meet in the Champions League final later this month.

Pep Guardiola’s side hold the advantage in the second semi-final after an incredible first leg at Etihad Stadium saw them beat Real 4-3 in one of the best games in the tournament’s history.

The second leg takes place at Real’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Wednesday and if the Spanish champions, managed by ex-Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, can turn the one-goal deficit around it would set up a repeat of the 2018 final.

Real won 3-1 on that occasion as Gareth Bale scored twice, including an incredible overhead kick, but the game will largely be remembered for two goalkeeping errors from Liverpool’s Loris Karius.

Parly to summon ED over rampant corruption

Parliament must move a motion to summon President Emmerson Mnangagwa to the National Assembly to answer questions about rampant corruption in his government which were flagged Auditor-General (AG) Mildred Chiri in her 2020 report, outspoken Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa has said.

Mliswa, chairs the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC), told journalists and chairpersons of the Budget and Finance and Public Accounts committees on Tuesday that Mnangagwa was presiding over a dysfunctional government.

“Government is full of corruption. If you go through this report, you then ask why we even pass the budget. I will be very clear on that. Governance implementation or recommendation is not done. The president is presiding over a dysfunctional government, a corrupt government,” Mliswa said.

“The auditor general’s office is critical in interrogating all this, and everything is pointing to corruption. It is important that Parliament moves a motion to summon the president to parliament so that he can explain why his government has not implemented recommendations coming from parliament and various committees and the AG’s office,” Mliswa said.

“The Public Financial Management Act is very clear about reports coming from various committees. Why then do we pass budgets for those ministries that are incompetent?” Mliswa asked.

Mliswa criticised the whipping system which forces MPs to be compliant to their political parties.

“We go back to the whipping system. Does the ruling party allow this corruption to happen? The chairperson of the Budget and Finance committee is here and very competent. The whipping system is a hindrance to democracy. When elected into Parliament, one must represent the nation. Why then do these committees pass budgets with all these indicators?

“So you come back to parliament, some of us are stupid because we are foolish and incompetent. We do pass budgets for ministries that spend more money than us, even that of the Executive who spends more than us. Passing a budget for judges to have Range Rovers, how do you exercise your role if you are poor?

Mliswa labeled the finance ministry a circus in terms of governance.

“We pass a budget and only 30% is allocated. Where will ministries get the other 70% from? That breeds corruption on its own because ministries are not getting enough. There is a shortage of funds. There is no discipline at the Ministry of Finance in terms of adhering to rules and regulations. Inflation is hitting us. It is a government full of corruption and unfortunately, the President is presiding over this corrupt government.”

Nelson Chamisa vows to revamp social dialogue & workers’ welfare

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) president, Nelson Chamisa, has vowed to revamp the Tripartite Negotiation Forum (TNF) and improve workers’ welfare once he assumes office.

In an update on Twitter to mark this year’s Workers’ Day commemorations, the opposition leader said Zimbabwe’s workers have suffered enough, hence the need to enact proper reforms.

“As the next and the incoming government, we guarantee a decent living wage with a starting minimum wage of US$540 for the lowest civil servant. We will also create a conducive environment, which fosters business growth and attracts both domestic and foreign investment -the key levers of job creation,” he said.

He vowed to undertake massive reforms of the state-owned enterprises with a view to place them as key enablers and actors of economic transformation and employment creation.

We will also strengthen the TNF so that it becomes a serious vehicle for negotiations for Government, Employers and Employees,” he said.

He called for the respect of historic struggle and militant tradition of the labour movement in Zimbabwe, which has won us many victories that we still enjoy up to this day through the likes of Burombo, Masotsha Ndlovu, Jamela , Mzingeli, Nkomo, Sibanda, Tsvangirai, Matombo, Nkiwane, Chibebe, and Mutasa.

Chamisa bemoaned the fact that the current ‘real market’ exchange rate is ZW$400 to US$1, which effectively means that workers’ salaries are seriously eroded by both inflation and exchange spiral, but authorities are unwilling to give workers a correct living wage.

“Likewise, employers’ capacity to pay real wages to workers has been constrained by draconian government policies which, inter alia, include excessive distortions and corruption and punitive exchange rate regimes and excessive taxes,” he said.

He added that the key to providing a living wage, restoring workers’ dignity, and getting rid of the old, rotten and parasitic system sucking life out of workers is electing a Citizens government that puts workers’ welfare first and prioritizes dignity at the heart of governance and all policy decisions.

Exiled Walter Mzembi urges government to bring back executive mayors to end mess

Exiled former cabinet minister Walter Mzembi has urged the government to bring back executive mayors to end the continued political bickering and finger-pointing over service delivery failures across the country.

Mzembi was responding to a video of uncollected waste in Mbare shared by former energy minister Fortune Chasi.

Chasi had blamed council for heaps of dirt at Mbare’s market.

Mzembi blamed Zanu PF interference instead, pointing out that mayors were being targeted by the local government ministry in a bid to tarnish the opposition in its urban strongholds.

“(The) Harare mayor, after republic President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is the second most powerful measurable public service deployment. Its budget is equivalent to 50% of all ministries combined. It has suffered from interference and lack of vision, Chasi,” said Mzembi.

“Bring back an executive mayor, who is protected from ministry of local government politics and interference, for functionality and supervision of Town House bureaucracy. His authority should be checkmated by elected councillors only, not politicians!

“Executive mayors must be a direct appointment or elected into office by bona fide ratepayers after satisfying them on their vision and suitability for office through an evaluated Statement of Policy Intent & Management of the City.”

Local government minister July Moyo has been accused of continuous interference at Harare’s Town House, where he has suspended two mayors in succession (Herbert Gomba and Jacob Mafume) and imposed one Steward Mutizwa.

Last week minister Moyo nullified the election of CCC councillor Enock Mupamawonde as Harare mayor and reimposed Mutizwa.

Added Mzembi: “If we do not reassert the role and power of ratepayers, cities will continue to be blackmailed by our toxic politics, where central government under Zanu PF and local authorities under opposition turn them into turf and political battlegrounds!”

Harare, Chitungwiza, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, Gweru, Kariba, and Kwekwe have been recent victims of government interference in local authorities.

ZRP blitz leaves scores stranded

Scores of commuters in urban areas are struggling to find transport to work because of a crippling police crackdown on pirate taxis and private cars carrying passengers.

Some commuters are being forced to endure long hours in the cold weather as winter settles in with brute force.

They would mostly be waiting for the few Zupco buses available.

Police mounted roadblocks on all major roads, arresting motorists carrying more than three people in their vehicles.

Even motorists carrying family members and school children were also caught up in the crossfire.

“This morning, I waited for almost two hours looking for transport to go to town. There were very few Zupco buses to ferry people to work. The mushikashikas which we normally board were not on the road because police were arresting them. We appeal to the government to let these private taxis ferry people because Zupco is apparently failing to cope with the pressure,” said Timothy Ncube, a commuter from Cowdray Park in Bulawayo.

Justin Ncube, another motorist, who was coming from Nkulumane with his family, said he was also forced to drop his two cousins at a roadblock along Plumtree Road.

“I was carrying five of my relatives going to a funeral when the police accused me of pirating and asked me to drop two passengers. When I resisted they threatened to impound my car and take it to Drill Hall until I gave in to their demands,” Ncube said.

The police were also targeting private commuter omnibuses ferrying school children on the opening day of the second term.

Commuter omnibuses, popularly known as kombis, that are not registered with the Zupco franchise are either being impounded or asked to drop passengers.

Police have been carrying out a similar blitz in Harare, which has seen the commuting public spending long periods in bus queues.

In his Workers Day speech, President Emmerson Mnangagwa directed the local government ministry and Zupco to resolve the transport challenges facing urbanites.

ED: Britain should mind its own business

Meddlesome Britain should focus on problems at home and stop poking its nose into the affairs of Zimbabwe through contrived stories and false oppositional narratives, President Mnangagwa has said.

Responding to bizarre claims by nostalgic British House of Lords representatives that the governing party Zanu PF was targeting the opposition, President Mnangagwa, through his spokesperson Mr George Charamba, said Zimbabwe’s erstwhile colonizers cannot tell Zimbabwe, a sovereign nation, what to do.

The British, through their sponsored opposition and non-governmental organizations, have been desperately trying to block the passage of the Private and Voluntary Organisation (PVO) Bill, ostensibly because it infringes on constitutional liberties, although it really seeks to end money laundering and rein in foreign funding of local politics.

But President Mnangagwa said come rain or sunshine, the Bill would be passed in accordance with the laws of the country.

“The PVO Bill, which they are fretting about, will be passed. It is a Zimbabwean law, meant to deal with a Zimbabwean situation and it will proceed that way.

“However, we also thank them, the British government and the House of Lords, for confirming that they continue to meddle in our own affairs. By their own admission, they have been brokering peace between antagonistic factions of the opposition.”

Zimbabwe’s opposition, which has splintered several times in fights over donor funds and control of the party, was formed at the behest of white former commercial farmers, mostly of British heritage who sought to install a puppet government and reverse the Land Reform Programme, which redressed land inequities.

Up to this day, Britain maintains economic sanctions on Zimbabwe which have negatively affected the country’s full growth potential.

Although President Mnangagwa has opened doors for engagement and reengagement, in a policy that has been embraced by even former hostile nations in the European Union, the British have played both dumb and blind.

Thus despite the political and economic reforms that have been initiated since President Mnangagwa came into office in 2017, the British, in cahoots with their sponsored NGOs and opposition political parties, prefer to look the other way.

Said President Mnangagwa: “The British Lords should not be in the habit of writing fiction about Zimbabwe in order to debate it. They have so much on their plate, there is their soaring inflation at home, there are certain oddities that are happening within their own Parliament, they have blowbacks relating to their exit of Europe, not to mention what is happening in Eastern Europe and of course their own domestic policy which get them to want to use foreign affairs as a red herring.

“When you go through the things they allege are happening in Zimbabwe, you cannot but wonder if their embassy here is of any use at all. Nothing that they are raising or debating approximates the reality on the ground. Anyway, the point must be made and made instantly that in 1980, Zimbabwe got independence and has absolutely nothing to do with the British, (which is) made worse by the fact that the British, in their lack of wisdom, decided to slap Zimbabwe with sanctions it does not deserve. Can you imagine if the European Union was to invoke its own values and expectations in respect to Britain after Brexit?

“Why do they think we still stand beholden to a colonial power we ousted from this country? How do they stand in loco parentisis (in the place of a parent) to us?

“They must mind their own business, they cut relations with us (and) we got nothing from them except for their own pestering and to that extent, we don’t pay attention to what they are saying.”

President Mnangagwa dismissed claims by some British Lords that Zanu PF was sponsoring the MDC-Alliance.

“By their own absurd expectation, they expect Zanu PF to build an opposition against itself. They don’t do it in the UK, why do they expect us to do that? The opposition will fall or rise on the basis of authentic policies and the more they debate Zimbabwe and confirm that they have been meddling in our affairs, the more they create a crisis for opposition in Zimbabwe,” he said.
