Mzansi musical artist, J Molley was one of the few celebs who opened up after his death and he recently did so on his birthday.

J Molley celebrated his birthday this past weekend. To him it was more than just turning a year older. By some miracle, J Molley is still alive following his failed suicide attempt which left him in intensive care for 4 days.

“Happy birthday to me. About a year ago I died on the operating table after a suicide attempt choking on my own blood coming out my nose and mouth. By a miracle I was brought back to life and fought for 4 days in ICU,” he said in his tweet.

Molley spoke about what happened that day and with the help of his girlfriend and friends, he was rushed to the hospital. He was also admitted into a psychiatric ward.

“My girlfriend saved my life and got me out that bathroom into the ambulance with the help of my close friends. I then hit rock bottom as if I thought I had already. After being admitted into a psychiatric prison cell against my will, 24/7 lockdown for a week with nothing but me, ” he continued.

He said he is extremely grateful to be alive and hopes for the same for anyone going through this devastating period. “Worst thing I’ve ever been through but it made me stronger than ever. I haven’t been suicidal ever since and today I celebrate another year on this earth. If I can make it out so can you. I’m here for a reason ain’t no doubt. Can’t wait to see how fate plays out.”

Young Stunna will be sued after refusing to show up for a KwaZulu-Natal gig.

The vocalist’s fans gathered on Saturday at the aforementioned venue, expecting him to perform, but they left disappointed.

According to Sunday World, the impresario, Mafutha Bheko Sokhela of Durban Base Entertainment revealed that Young Stunna complained of suffering vocal complications on the day of the show after being paid over R50 000.

The money included R40 000 appearance fee, R1 500 for accommodation and R8 000 for transport.

“He claimed that he had vocal complications. We asked him to go to his doctor and get a medical certificate to prove that he is sick. Alternatively to go to our doctor in Joburg for treatment at our own costs, and he agreed to do so. Our doctor contacted him and gave him a physical address of his surgery for consultation.”

The doctor was reportedly available to do anything to make the singer fine, but Stunna refused to show up.

“We told him to come and mime if he had vocal issues, but he refused. Most of the artists who experience vocal problems before the show, don’t cancel, they go to the show and mime,” Sokhela said.

The event promoter demands a refund and Young Stunna will be sued for damages.

Open Mic Production has released an official statement regarding reports of R8 million lawsuit against Makhadzi.

A few days back, the star alongside her production company were dragged to the Pretoria high court by the Kicks Sportwear company for breaching the terms and conditions of their partnership agreement.

In December 2021, the award-winning singer announced the launch of her sneakers line, Kokovha which was in collaboration with Kicks Sportwear brand.

According to the brand, the star has refused to wear the sneakers to gigs and promote them on her social media accounts, as that was part of their agreement.

Makhadzi’s management questions the merits of the R8.2-million lawsuit against the artist Open Mic Production says they entered into a R120-million deal but Kicks Sportswear failed on deliverables.

Well, the production has come out to release an official statement as they dismissed the report.

– 1 tbsp vegetable oil

– 4 (about 180g each) skinless salmon fillets

– 4cm-piece fresh ginger, peeled, cut into matchsticks

– 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced lengthways

– 1 long fresh red chilli, halved lengthways

– 100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar

– 60ml (1/4 cup) fish sauce

– 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

– 1 bunch baby pak choy, halved lengthways

– 1 green shallot, thinly sliced diagonally

– Steamed jasmine rice, to serve

– Lime cheeks, to serve

3 Method / Steps

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the salmon, top-side down, for 2 minutes or until golden. Transfer to a plate.

Step 2

Add ginger, garlic and chilli to the pan. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until aromatic. Add sugar, fish sauce and lime juice. Stir until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low. Return salmon, top-side up, to the pan. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 3

Add the pak choy. Cook, covered, for 2 minutes or until pak choy is bright green and salmon flakes easily when tested with a fork. Uncover. Simmer for 2 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Divide among serving bowls. Top with the shallot. Serve with rice and lime cheeks.

* 600g Lilydale Free Range Chicken Mince

* 70g (1 cup) fresh breadcrumbs

* 1/4 red cabbage, finely shredded

* 1/2 red onion, very thinly sliced

* 1 carrot, peeled, coarsely grated

* 1/4 cup finely chopped chives

* 1/4 cup mayonnaise

* 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

* 2 tsp honey

* 1 tbsp olive oil

* 1 loaf of Turkish bread, quartered crossways, split

* 100g baby rocket leaves

4 Method / Steps

Step 1

Combine the chicken and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Divide into four even portions. Shape each portion into a 9cm patty. Place on a plate. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest.

Step 2

Meanwhile, combine the cabbage, onion, carrot, chives, mayonnaise, mustard and honey in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Preheat a barbecue or chargrill on high heat. Lightly brush the bread slices and chicken patties with oil. Cook chicken on the barbecue for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate. Cook bread on the barbecue for 2 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Step 4

Place bread bases on serving plates. Top with red cabbage slaw and chicken patties. Top with rocket and remaining bread. Serve immediately.

Enhle said she always wanted to play a challenging role that would allow her to learn more about her acting skills. Blood Psalms, an epic, action-packed African fantasy series, follows the beliefs and practices of black communities.

The 34-year-old actress will be playing the role of Umna, which is a warrior woman.

Enhle from Soweto said this was the most challenging role ever, as she had to be a warrior who goes all out.

“Umna is a warrior woman draped in the pretext of what then was considered to be a circus and entertainers. But she serves a bigger goal for the order of the Golden Dawn,” Enhle said.

“This was the most challenging but also one the most enjoyable show to shoot. Every day on set felt like I was in this new world recreating a narrative all people of colour. The production, as well as the quality is world class, and will delight viewers.

The actress said she learnt a lot while on set. She said she saw lots of great potential actors and actresses who can execute a lot a characters and all they need is free tips from those who have been on the entertainment industry for a long time.

“There is potential to nurture any more actors in the country but also, room for more African talent overseas. I’m definitely considering my options internationally,” Enhle added.

“As an actress, I want to put more hard work and living grounded in my purpose. I pray every day that if only God can grant me my wishes and for that reason I would like to keep silent work and let Him work through me.”

The DJ and actress have tried to clear the air numerous times, but the public have decided to go with their own thoughts. In the video that recently surfaced on Twitter, Zinhle was perceived to be cold to the cheerful Pearl who tried supporting her while performing at a gig. It is assumed that the DJ hates Pearl, which she exuded in the video.

Maskandi artist Senzo “Ntencane” Zondi has bought a brand new car. According to his social media post, the Wawuthembeni hitmaker bought a black Mercedes-Benz A-Class 250 sport.

He posted a photo of himself standing in front of the car at a dealership, with the caption: “I would like to thank God, my ancestors, and supporters.”

Many of his supporters and colleagues quickly took turns to congratulate him.

Mnikezwa Ngubane wrote: “My friend, my colleague, the cordial man. Ntencane uMdali, may God continue to bless you abundantly. You have a good heart and I’m happy for you. Congratulations, my brother. Now you need to get married.”

Then Big Zulu commented: “Congratulations are in order my brother, your car is nice.”
