ZACC dismisses Kuda Tagwirei corruption allegations: He is innocent

ZACC dismisses Kuda Tagwirei corruption allegations: He is innocent. The anti-corruption body said that the allegations which were made by suspended former Zanu PF Youth leaders Godfrey Tsenengamu and Lewis Matutu are baseless and do not meet the minimum standard required to initiate an investigation. Tagwirei is a known ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has dismissed corruption allegations raised against business tycoon Kuda Tagwirei. At an explosive press conference, Matutu and Tsenengamu sensationally claimed that Tagwirei was leading a cartel which was responsible for the suffering of the people. After the press conference, Matutu filed corruption allegations Tagwirei with ZACC.

However, ZACC chairperson Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo said the anti-graft body has tossed away the allegations because they did not meet the minimum standard. Said Matanda-Moyo according to New Zimbabwe. “What happened was that only one of the two came to ZACC and made a general report and said that so and so is corrupt.

“As ZACC, those are not the sort of reports that we expect. There are standards that have to be met. You have to meet basic standards to enable ZACC to open a file. “Imagine if ZACC was to open a file based on a general allegation that so and so is corrupt, how many files would we have? We do not just take opinions, they must be some basis for saying someone is corrupt.”

Justice Matanda Moyo who is the wife of Foreign Affairs Minister Sibusiso Moyo also said that this was a political fight and ZACC would not get its hands dirty in such a matter. “We are not a political outfit. ZACC is apolitical and we do not want to be used in any political fights. If people have evidence and positive leads, we are their friends.

“But let me categorically state that we have never received any solid complaints regards their cases. What they said was just an allegation without any prima facie evidence. So whatever matters we are investigating are not because of them.”

Mpiyakhe Zungu suspended from Isibaya

It seems drama within Mzansi Magic telenovela Isibaya happens on and off the screen – with veteran actor Siyabonga Thwala allegedly placed on “temporary leave”. Cast alleges he wants to be given special treatment onset.

Thwala, who is the darling of the show and plays the role of Mpiyakhe Zungu, is currently not shooting with Isibaya for reasons not publicly ventilated. The veteran actor, who is known for his roles in the now-defunct SABC1 Generations, etv’s Scandal and Rhythm City, is said to have made huge demands just as the show producers were preparing for the shoot of Isibaya season 8.

According to two cast members, Thwala wanted to be given special treatment since he is a veteran and he has been with the show from day one. It is very sad that Mpiyakhe is behaving like Isibaya revolves around his character. He has become too big for the producers,” the source said. A cast member who spoke to Sunday World on condition of anonymity said that Thwala always complained about what was included in the script. The veteran actor also wanted a pay hike since he was a lead character.

Siyabonga Thwala

Another producer from the show who did not want to be named told Sunday World that there was no proper explanation why Thwala was not shooting. Concerns about Thwala’s future in Isibaya follow news that actress and TV personality Nomzamo Mbatha, who plays Thandeka Zungu-ndlovu, was leaving the show because of a busy work “schedule overseas”.

“Mbatha was supposed to die [on Friday] and must be buried during the opening of season 8. We are hoping that all the misunderstandings between Thwala and the producers will be sorted by then so that we can move on,” he said.

Mzansi Magic spokesman Irvin Pooe feigned surprise about Thwala’s alleged drama queen tendencies. “Siyabonga has been shooting last week and this week. He did take some time off earlier this month for personal reasons. Siyabonga is a very skilled and competent actor. He’s back on set. We are not aware of Mr Thwala jumping ship,” said Pooe. Attempts to get comment from Thwala drew a blank as he ignored phone calls and SMSES.

Kaizer Chiefs player Khama Billiat has been granted a permanent protection order against his alleged baby mama. Sunday World reported that in terms of the protection order handed down at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, Billiat’s 22-year-old baby mama cannot make any contact with him or make mention of anything about Billiat to the media or any person.

If the alleged baby mama does not adhere to the order, a warrant for her arrest will be issued. “Amended as follows: not allowed to provide information about the applicant or personal matter relating to the applicant to any media house, social media or person,” reads the court papers.

According to court officials who are privy to the matter, the baby mama was allegedly caught recording the court proceedings without permission. The sources say Billiat’s lawyer alerted the magistrate to this. The magistrate asked to check if she was recording the proceedings. The magistrate found that recording and deleted it immediately,” said the official.

Khama Billiat

Attempts to get comment from the baby mama drew a blank as her phone rang unanswered and texts read were not responded to. In a statement ahead of the court order, Billiat had claimed that he received threats to kill him and his family.

“They [his family] are suffering from depression [brought on by the fact] that threats were made to them that they will be sorted out when I get killed. They are also afraid to go [out] in public because they are always followed by unknown people. Whenever they go out, my daughter cries when she sees people following [them],” read the papers.

Billiat ignored requests for comment. It was previously reported that the star player had sustained an injury from the alleged baby mama, which he disputed, adding that she orchestrated false media reports.

“She is very violent and aggressive [in her efforts] to destroy me. The threats and false media were published that I got stabbed. She had an article posted in Sunday World claiming I’m useless,” said Billiat in the papers.

My family is not at peace at home, they are afraid. I’m also afraid to work because we are always followed by unknown people. I was threatened with death and my family is suffering from depression. At work I can’t concentrate,” said Billiat.

DJ Maphorisa

Phori decided to dust himself and continued performing.

His die-hard fans hailed him for soldiering on but Prince Kaybee took that as an opportunity to throw shade at him when he said ” Suba Weak ” which easily translates to ‘Don’t be weak’.

The two have been on each other throats recently following their major social media twar over the ownership of music masters. Now Prince Kaybee has added salt to the already painful wound.

We can definitely say that this weekend everything was just Mabena because media mogul and TV star Oprah Winfrey also fell during her Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus event, but she later confirmed that she was not badly injured.

Boity Thulo explains how having a reality TV show freaked her out

$

Boity Thulo revealed that having a reality TV show was something she was offered many times before and turned down – Exposing her personal life to the public is something that scared Boity – The only reason she agreed to it this time is that she felt she was in a more stable, comfortable and position of control.

Boity Thulo opened up further on the reservations she had, and still has, on having her own reality TV show – privacy is so important. Boity sat down with DRUM magazine and told them all the things that scare her about having a reality TV show. Boity revealed that she was asked to do a reality TV show many times but that she declined in fear of her life being exposed in a way she didn’t want it to be.

Boity Thulo

The offers had been coming in for years but I kept saying no. Letting people into my life and having the last bit of privacy taken away from me felt uncomfortable,” Boity told DRUM. It took a lot for Boity to finally agree to do her own reality TV show, and Boity: Own Your Throne is doing pretty damn well so far. From Bonang Matheba to Somizi, many Mzansi stars have managed to have their own reality TV show and maintain their sanity.

Being wiser, in control and a lot more comfortable with who she is, is why Boity finally agreed to do the show. “When I decided I’m going to venture into this I was comfortable with who I am and my life. I have accepted many things. I’m more mature than I was a few years ago,” explained Boity.

Sjava who is accused of Rape, angers Fans at his show

What was supposed to be a night to remember ended up angering fans. Sjava’s concert A Night with Sjava failed to start on time at the Durban ICC on Saturday.

“They expected him to be on stage from the word go.”

The concert was supposed to start at 6 pm but it only started at 8.30 pm. No explanation or apology was given.

The two and half hour delay left the crowd agitated, rowdy and jumping on top of chairs.

But Sjava still did not come on stage. Instead, artists including the scathamiya group Royal Messengers and maskandi artist Buselaphi Gxowa entertained the crowd.

Sjava

The crowd booed Sjava when, flanked by a group of young Zulu warriors, he finally made his grand entrance. His mum Thandi Nkabinde got up and danced.

Sjava got on stage but there was no explanation or apology for the late start. Nosisa Khwinana couldn’t believe she drove all the way from the Eastern Cape to be disrespected.

“I like Sjava’s music, but what he’s doing is unacceptable and annoying,” said Nosisa.

“I can’t believe I’ve been waiting for more than two hours and he doesn’t even have the audacity to apologise.”

Another fan, Zandile Khowa, said: “I didn’t come here to watch all these people but him.

Sjava

“I really love his music but I feel undermined and taken for granted.

“At least I should have been informed there’s going to be other artists prior to his performance.”

Nicolas Manyike from Ambitiouz Entertainment acknowledged there were delays.

“The show was based on Sjava and people got impatient because they were not expecting other artists.

“They expected him to be on stage from the word go. We’re also to blame because we started a little bit late and apologise for this.”

Unpacking Zim’s stadium crisis

Unpacking Zim’s stadium crisis. ZIFA spokesman Xolisani Gwesela, Premier Soccer League chief executive Kenny Ndebele and Zimbabwe Olympic Committee Commissioner Nicholas Munyonga united in urging Zimbabweans to switch their attention to addressing the much needed upgrade of the stadium, arguing that engaging in endless blame games would not yield any fruits.

Amid the fury, and disappointment, that has greeted CAF’s decision to ban Zimbabwe’s stadiums from hosting international soccer matches; some of the domestic game’s experts have called for united concerted efforts by all stakeholders to get the country out of denial and comply with the FIFA initiated requirements

The trio, who also work closely with CAF in the implementation of the club licensing and inspection of match venues, noted that Zimbabwe’s stadiums had fallen behind the standards required by both FIFA and CAF.

Ndebele said the country needed to have read the FIFA signals from 2006 when the world body shifted its focus on development that was anchored on clubs and infrastructure. “FIFA, as way back as 2006 encouraged Football Associations to sign partnership agreements with Public Institutions.

“ZIFA must sign agreements with owners of NSS, Barbourfields and Rufaro Stadia. The association must be reformed and statutes need to be adhered to (both in letter and spirit) “PSL Clubs must organise themselves and take a lead in football development and for club Licensing Regulations to be put in place together with Independent FIB and AB Ethics Committee, and Judicial Bodies to be allowed to function properly and independently.

“One of the objectives of FIFA is to “improve the game of football constantly and promote it globally in light of unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, particularly through youth and development programmes.

“FIFA and Confederations have over the years been carrying out and funding Development Programmes throughout the World’’. He said developing countries have benefited a lot from development programmes which include, Coaching, Refereeing, Sports Medicine, Youth Development, Women Football, infrastructure, Beach Soccer and administration courses.

Most of these programmes were carried out through member associates. “The FIFA Congress of 2006 held in Munich, Germany, noted the importance of football Clubs.

“Football Clubs play a key role in football development – they are participants in football competitions – a life blood of football, they are a cradle of development for young players, they play a key role in communities and they have commercial potential,’’ Ndebele said.

“CAF Club Licensing Regulations were approved on 19 January 2012 and came into effect on 01 March 2012. Soft implementation of Club Licensing started in 2012 and procedure entered into full implementation phase in 2017.

“Its objectives were:

To ensure that clubs have adequate levels of management and organisation

To protect the integrity and smooth running of the domestic club competitions

To allow the development of benchmarking for clubs in financial, sporting, legal, personal administrative and infrastructure related criteria.

To improve the economic and financial capability of the Clubs, increasing their transparency and credibility.

To encourage clubs to operate on the basis of their own revenue

To encourage responsible spending for long term benefit of football

To protect the long term liability and sustainability of domestic football

To introduce more discipline and rationality in Club finances

To place the necessary importance on the protection of creditors by ensuring that clubs settle their liabilities with players’ social tax authorities and other clubs punctually

To promote and continuously improve the standard of all aspects of football and to give continued priority to the training and care of young players in every club

To adapt Clubs sporting infrastructure to provide players and spectators and media representatives with suitable, well equipped and safe facilities’’.

Gwesela said club licensing was not only being forced on Zimbabwe but was a new trend sweeping across the global game.

“Club Licensing is not a new phenomenon; we started preaching about it when it was introduced, and both council and government officials running these stadiums have been participating in our workshops.

“Some of them even attended workshops organised out of Zimbabwe on what was expected in a modern stadium.

“However, nothing was implemented back home. “Just last year, after CAF inspection, reports were sent to stadium authorities on what was expected to be done on our stadiums hosting international matches.

“Again the recommendations were not adhered to as stadium authorities cited budgetary support.

“CAF realised that they was no progress and hence this decision to ban us from using our local stadia to host international matches.

“Local authorities need to invest more financial resources to spruce our facilities to the required level. Most stadiums were built around 1950s and we are now in the new millennium yet we are still using archaic infrastructure.

“Stadium authorities should re-train their staff maintaining these facilities on modern trends or even to take them to other countries to see best practises. Just across the Zambezi, in Lusaka, a modern stadium, Heroes stadium was built.

Yet as a country we are still using infrastructure which is in a derelict state,’’ Gwesela who is also a CAF general co-coordinator said. said.

Munyonga urged total focus on correcting the grey areas. “If we dwell much on this narrative that CAF are against us, we will digress and miss the point.”

It is true that our changing rooms are too small, it is true that our stadium don’t meet the standards.

“Let’s focus on getting our things right. Personally I will not blame the Algerians or CAF but ourselves. Forget the blame game and push the narrative of progress. “The stadiums must be sorted.

“It is important that we all appreciate the roles and responsibilities of all football stakeholders from Government to players before we apportion blanket blame.

“This always leave things to talk shows without action. We must also make sure our support structures like the FIB constitute the expertise that mirror the expertise of CAF and be able to speak from an expertise point of view,” Munyonga said

“When reports are being tabled, the other stakeholders, Government and Councils must all be in one meeting.

“Follow up meetings with strategies, budgets etc. must then be endorsed by all stakeholders and timelines agreed.

“What is bad is to be in a similar situation, in our next home matches, when there was ample time to rectify things to meet international standards.

“For the local matches; the minimum standards (obviously a compromise) must be agreed by all stakeholders before the FIB inspects all stadiums.

“Reports of accreditation or failure should be public knowledge and again the strategies for fixing outstanding issues discussed by all stakeholders.

“It must not be by a naked eye, for one to just say this stadium is ok or not.

“Let these processes be transparent.

“Let the experts be experts for real.

Zozibini Tunzi reacts to Rami Chuene’s thread – We are because someone was

“We all are because someone was. Do the same, pass the baton.”

This was Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi‘s response to Rami Chuene‘s Twitter thread about actors helping each other get roles and learn their lines for auditions.

Using the #PayItForward, the veteran actress counted Flo Masebe and Portia Gumede among her close circle of industry colleagues who made sure she was never without a job. She advised her followers to remember that there is enough space for everyone to shine.

Zozibini Tunzi

“There is space for all of us. Look at the stars in the sky, so many of them and they individually shine so brightly.”

Rami also said because of this tight relationship, she has never been without a job.

In January, fans paid tribute to her The Queen character, T-Gom, after news broke that she would be let go from the show. Sunday World attributed this to a behind the scenes clash between Rami and media moguls the Fergusons who produce the show.

Zozibini Tunzi

Zozi can clearly relate to Rami’s thread as she, too, paid tribute to her New York City apartment roommates, Miss USA Cheslie Kryst and Miss Teen USA, Kaliegh Garris for making her feel at home in the states.

“I found myself in a foreign country and city not knowing anyone but I’ve never felt alone because you didn’t allow it.”

Uzalo recently shared a beautiful behind the scenes of their latest photoshoot in which all the actresses were dancing and singing along to a classic Malaika song. Reacting to the viral video, Rami made a remark on how that could have been her and her former castmates had they not been threatened.

This could have been us but were intimidated and threatened to get off the WhatsApp group. Sembi”, Rami tweeted. When a tweep called her out for not moving on, she responded suggesting there was more that happened than what people know.

It seem like the real telenovela was the behind the scenes of The Queen Mzansi production at this point.

Grade six pupil in ICU after being knocked down by a Zupco bus. Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident. “The incident involved a Mayezane Tours bus (under the Zupco contract) which was heading to town when it knocked down a pupil who was on his way to school.

A Grade Six pupil at Masuku Primary School in Tshabalala, Bulawayo is battling for life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mpilo Central Hospital after being knocked down by a bus on Friday.

“The driver seemed to have failed to exercise due caution as students were crossing the road. The bus had 60 passengers on board and no one was injured,” said Insp Ncube.

He urged motorists to exercise caution and be on the lookout for pedestrians. However, Insp Ncube said police have also noticed that pedestrians were also not exercising caution when crossing the roads.

“We have realised that most pedestrians just cross the road anyhow. In town, I have seen some crossing when the robot is red therefore I would advise members of the public to be extra careful on the roads and to follow traffic lights because they are not only meant for cars but pedestrians too,” said Insp Ncube.

Winky D drops video for Ijipita. Singer Winky D has dropped the music video of his much loved song ‘Ijipita’.

This follows right on the heels of the chanter clinching the much coveted People’s Choice Award at the recently ended NAMAs.

Winky had promised his fans On Instagram that he was going to drop an online surprise for them today

Said Winky

I would like to express my undying gratitude, and, indebtedness to all the great people who continue to add their loud, credible and valuable voices through voting for Winky D to be the all weather Musical People’s Choice. NAMA 2019 has the Gafa name engraved on the People’s Choice gong, yet again. I acknowledge with deep respect, the infinite confidence you have reposed in the Gafa musical journey. I am encouraged to continue placing rich musical roots in the souls of your support.

This time around,l am honouring your support through a special online surprise like never before. This experience will be duly granted to you at midday(12pm), Zimbabwean time, tomorrow 2 March 2020.

After that much anticipation, Winky has delivered forth on the goods! The song ‘Ijipita’ is an allegorical reference to the Biblical story of the Jewish nation during their slavery by the Egyptians and their exodus from the land of the slave masters to the promised land of Canaan.

In the video, Winky who is donning Biblical era attire is depicted as the African version of Moses who is going to liberate his people and lead them to a safe haven in Canaan.

The video excellently manages to portray the events of Exodus, from the slave masters’ brutality, the haughty pharaoh who hardened his heart and the devastating ten plagues which ravaged the land. The singer even got the Pharaoh’s royal garb down to a T, providing somewhat of a visual feast for the artistic eyes.

Check out the video and let us know what you think of it!

Boity Thulo‘s spicy comment to a fan who thinks she’s the rapper’s “doppelgänger” landed her in hot water on Sunday. Perhaps, reality TV star and rapper Boity Thulo meant no harm when she responded to Twitter user @Nala_prhyme’s post on social media about her friends pointing out that she reminds them of the “Boity: Own Your Throne” star.

Boity Thulo

Taking to her Twitter page, Nala shared a picture of herself donning formal blue shorts and matching top, with a nude blazer captioning it: “Somebody tag @Boity… My friends say I remind them of her” accompanied by with a heart and a fire emoji.

Clearly a huge fan of Boity who has been rocking a similar look lately, the user received an unexpected reaction when the local star replied with “Via?” in response to the tweet.

Whether the fan resembles Boity or not, or perhaps her friends were merely making reference to their fashion sense.

However, tweeps agreed that Boity’s comment was distasteful, with some labelling her “rude” and “mean”.
