Minister of Lands Perence Shiri clears the air on land reform

Minister of Lands Perence Shiri clears the air on land reform. Minister Shiri said SI62 had generated misinterpretations with some people concluding that Government was reversing the land reform, which he said was irreversible adding that only indigenous farmers and those under the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements (BIPPAs) would get the opportunity to have their land back.

Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement Minister Perrance Shiri yesterday cleared the air on Government’s recently gazetted Statutory Instrument 62, which was being interpreted as seeking to reverse land reform.

By indigenous individuals, Government is referring to people of Zimbabwean origin who were previously marginalised before 1980 and had acquired land either through direct purchase or through Government commercial farm schemes before the land reform.

These farmers will either get their land back or get full compensation for both the agricultural land acquired and improvements that were done on the farms.

Section 295(1) subsection 2 of the Constitution also provides for the full compensation of persons whose agricultural land was acquired yet it was protected. “The Land Reform Programme is final and irreversible. Any sentiments to the contrary are false and are to be disrespected with the contempt they deserve.

“It is false to say that there is an intention to return land to the previous white commercial farmers and reverse the gains of the land reform. It is equally false to state that the SI62 is designed to evade paying compensation to indigenous farmers; rather it creates an avenue for these farmers to exercise that option to acquire title deeds and continue with farming activities or opt for compensation,” he said.

The minister said some of the outspoken individuals who were suggesting that Government was reversing the land reform were latter-day revolutionaries who were trying to be more revolutionary than Zanla and Zipra.

“They are the same people who are shedding crocodile tears. They are not genuine and need to understand the SI62. The ruling Zanu PF and Government never supported that land belonging to indigenous people be acquired,” he said.

He said a total of 440 farms belonging to indigenous people were acquired under the Land Reform Programme and 350 such farmers were still on the acquired land while 90 farms had resettled farmers. Minister Shiri said the 350 farmers would have their titles re-instituted while Government would consider if the 90 farmers are interested in acquiring their farms.

These will apply to a committee that will consider the pros and cons of handing back the land. For those farms where A1 farmers were resettled, the indigenous former owners can be given alternative land since it can be costly for the Government to remove resettled farms.

Government has identified farms through the land audit, which can be used for resettling the indigenous farmers. The development of the Statutory Instrument in question was guided by the following constitutional provisions:

“Section 72, which provides for the rights to agricultural land and the vesting of all agriculture land in the State, Section 289, which provides the guiding policy on agricultural land, Section 290 that provides for the continued vesting of agricultural land in the State, Section 293, which provides for the alienation of land by State including the alienation for value, transfer of ownership and lease of agricultural land and Section 295, which provides for the compensation of indigenous Zimbabweans whose agricultural land was acquired and the person whose agricultural land was protected by a Government to Government agreement at the time of the acquisition,” he said.

A committee will be put in place to deal with all applications for compensation and considerations will be made in line with the SI.

The committee will decide whether or not there are individuals settled by Government on the farms. It will also consider whether or not the applicant is in the occupation of the farm or part of it, whether granting the application would be contrary to the interests of defence, public safety public order, public morality, public health, regional and town planning or the general public interests and whether the State in its own discretion prefers to pay monetary compensation.

“The alienation of land in lieu of compensation is not an automatic right and each applicant will be considered on case by case basis. The alienation or disposal will only be recommended in cases where it is reasonable and appropriate to do so. The SI only expands the options open to Government in the compensation of the mentioned two categories. The people of Zimbabwe are empowered by the supreme law of the land to reassert their rights to ownership of their land,” he said.

For BIPPAs, Minister Shiri said Zimbabwe was living in a global village and had to be predictable as a Government. “When we sign agreements, we should honour the agreements. If we are in the habit of changing goal posts no government will still do business with us,” he said.

Herentals FC wins court appeal, keep Premiership slot

Herentals FC wins court appeal, keep Premiership slot. Oliver Chirenga, who was said to be Herentals team manager and accused of having been the middleman in the scam, also had his life ban from football quashed. Premiership side Herentals has successfully overturned the decision by the PSL disciplinary committee to find them guilty in a match-fixing saga, which has been dragging on since last year.

The Students, who were docked three points and slapped with a $300 000 fine after being found guilty of allegedly manipulating the result of their match against Black Rhinos last year, will now keep their place in the Premiership. Failure to overturn the judgment would have come at a huge cost for Herentals.

They would have dropped into Division One amid reports that ZIFA would also have punished them further by kicking them out of competitive football. However, a four-member ZIFA Appeals Board, led by Harare lawyer Stead Kachere, a senior partner at Kachere and Guwuriro Legal Practitioners, yesterday quashed that conviction and spared Herentals both the axe and the imminent collapse of the football club.

They ruled that the PSL Disciplinary Committee appeared biased against Herentals, had denied the Students the right for legal representation and relied entirely on the evidence of former Rhinos team manager, Gift Kamuriwo, whose presentation could not be corroborated.

During the PSL Disciplinary Hearing, the ZIFA Appeals Board ruled, Herentals were turned into both the accused and prosecutors, throwing the entire process into a shambles. ‘‘In view of the above findings, the ZIFA Appeals Board hereby allows the appeal, in terms of Rule 7.9.3.1 of the ZIFA Rules and Regulations,’’ read the judgment released last night.

‘‘As a result, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The conviction of the Appellants (Herentals and Chirenga) made by the PSL Disciplinary Committee on the 8th of January 2020 be and is hereby set aside. As a result, the 1st Appellants (Herentals) and 2nd Appellants (Chirenga) are hereby found Not Guilty and Acquitted.

The 1st and 2nd Appellants are hereby ordered to pay wasted costs to the PSL Disciplinary Committee as per ZIFA Appeals Board ruling on 5 March 202, thereafter each party shall bear its own costs incurred by the partners to the appeal as from the 5th of March 2020.

The 1st and 2nd Appellants shall be responsible, jointly and severally, to pay additional appeal costs as per paragraph 31 of this ruling. ZIFA shall determine the amount with which the appeal proceeds exceeded the appeal feels paid by the Appellants and shall inform the Appellants.’’

The ZIFA Appeals Board said there were many flaws to the process when the case was heard by the PSL disciplinary committee and, given the gravity of the situation, which involved a cancer called match-fixing which should never be associated with football, it was a surprise the issue was fast-tracked.

‘‘The PSL disciplinary committee should have sought corroboration of Gift Kamuriwo’s evidence,’’ the judgment says. ‘‘On the issue of the money produced as evidence, it was just Kamuriwo’s word against the Appellants.

‘‘There were no witnesses called to corroborate Kamuriwo’s evidence, yet the disciplinary committee had found that his evidence was not truthful in every maternal respect. ‘‘There was no effort made to trace the money to the Appellants. Also, there was no effort made to trace the cellphone number which was alleged to have been used by the 2nd Appellant (Chirenga) to contact Gift Kamuriwo.

‘‘Even the witness, himself, failed to produce the print out of his cellphone to prove that the said number contacted him at the time he said he was contacted. Even the records from the Army Barracks to show that the 2nd Appellant entered 2 Brigade could have assisted.

‘‘They could have recorded a registration number of the vehicle he was driving. Such evidence aliuende would have helped to corroborate the single witness’ evidence considering the seriousness of the offence with which the Appellants were facing.

‘‘Match-fixing allegations should not be taken lightly when it comes to football matters. They ought to be investigated thoroughly and being the culprits to book.’’ The ZIFA Appeals Board ruled that both Herentals and Chirenga were not given a fair hearing. ‘‘The 1st and 2nd Appellants also argued that they were denied a fair hearing,’’ the judgment said.

‘‘Their constitutional right to a fair hearing was infringed in that they were informed by the PSL that they were not entitled to legal representation at the disciplinary hearing. The letter notifying the Appellants was submitted as evidence. In terms of Section 69 (4) of the Zimbabwe Constitution, ‘every person has a right, at their own expense, to choose and be represented by a legal practitioner before any court, tribunal or forum.’ It cannot be disputed that Appellants constitutionally guaranteed right to a fair hearing was denied.

‘‘To prove that the hearing was not fair, the 1st Appellant was not given a chance to cross-examine the witness who testified in its absence. On December 12, 2019, the 1st Appellant representative was excused because the disciplinary committee and PSL Prosecution was not convinced that he had the authority to represent the 1st Appellant.

‘‘The disciplinary committee proceeded to hear the evidence of Gift Kamuriwo in respect of the charges put to the 2nd Appellant. However, when the hearing resumed on 19 December, 2019, the 2ndAppellant was just asked to give his defence outline, after that, the case was closed.

‘‘Immediately, Gift Kamuriwo was called as an accused person. After testifying as an accused, the 1st Appellant, was turned into a Quasi Prosecutor for the PSL. Had it been that the 1st Appellant was represented by a legal practitioner, no doubt, such an anomaly would have been noted. This leaves no doubt that the Appellants were not afforded a fair hearing.’’

Before Mama Panther thanked Ayanda for her congratulatory message, she had to correct her first that this was now her second crib in addition to the first one she already has. However, it is best just to say ‘congratulations’, than first describing one’s success.

Pearl Thusi and Ayanda Thabethe

Twitter was left aghast when Ayanda Thabethe decided to be the official spokesperson of celebs with homes in Mzansi. This is when she took it upon herself to welcome Pearl Thusi into the homeowners association after the actress showed off the house she had just bought.

See her Twitter Screenshot:

Ayanda Thabethe comments

This was all well and good but Tweeps felt like Ayanda only did it to point out that she herself was also a homeowner and that she did it before Pearl.

They pointed out that this was not Pearl’s first rodeo as the Queen Sono actress had another house already.

She later deleted it but not before Pearl saw it.

Pearl replied to the tweet with a subtle but lethal clap back. She thanked Ayanda but corrected her for wrongfully assuming that this was her first property.

We felt that ‘Hey Wena’.

Mushekwi finally set for Chinese return

Mushekwi finally set for Chinese return. Many Chinese football clubs, including some of its national teams, have been holed up in foreign countries, where they have been having their pre-season camps. Zimbabwe international striker, Nyasha Mushekwi, is heading back to China today as scores of football stars flock back in the wake of tremendous strides, which the Asian nation has made, to contain the coronavirus.

However, the Chinese authorities have led the way, in terming the spread of the virus, with some areas even recording zero new infections. Mushekwi, who retired from international football after the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt last June, has been in South Africa where he has been working on his fitness with some of his specialist coaches.

He was initially in Turkey, with his Zhejiang Greentown teammates, for a pre-season camp, which was extended as authorities in China battled to contain the virus. However, many of his teammates have since returned to their base in China and Mushekwi told The Saturday Herald he would leave today to rejoin them.

‘‘I’m leaving for China tomorrow (today) afternoon,’’ Mushekwi said. ‘’I think the league will start soon. The Chinese guys (his teammates) went back a while ago. ‘‘I was concerned but now this thing (coronavirus) is everywhere and they have it under control in China.’’

Two months ago, Mushekwi appeared to doubt whether the season would go as planned in China this year. “We are in Turkey for pre-season,’’ he told this newspaper. “I don’t know if we will play this season. It’s pretty tough. This virus is affecting a lot of things.

“But we pray all will come to an end soon. We have been here (in Turkey) since the end of January. We were in Thailand from the beginning of January. “I don’t know where will go after but it’s a sad situation. I can feel for my teammates who have families in China. But, everything will be okay in the end.’’

However, things have changed and Mushekwi is now on his way back to China while football, in other parts of the world, has been halted. Mushekwi’s teammate at Greentown, South African forward Dino Ndlovu‚ has also been in South Africa and it was unclear yesterday whether they would be travelling together.

Ndlovu has been blaming authorities in his country for the way they reacted to the outbreak. “Listen‚ I think in South Africa our reaction is too slow‚” Ndlovu told TimesLIVE.

The Chinese women’s national football team will resume training next week to prepare for the Olympic qualification playoffs against South Korea.

The team flew back home on March 6, after a 37-day stay in Australia, and they will now assemble in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou. The Chinese men’s national team, who were also away in Dubai, are also flying back home after they were cleared to return following progress in the containment of the pandemic.

Reports have indicated that the Chinese Football Association will restart the Chinese Super League on April 18 but they have not yet been confirmed. Wuhan Zall, whose province became the centre of the epidemic, were also set to leave their training base in Spain and return home in another major sign that the situation has improved in China.

Leo Baptistao, Wuhan’s Brazilian attacker, told the Chinese media just before leaving Spain that the situation had now come full circle. ‘‘We are more in danger (in Spain)). It now appears . . . better to leave,’’ he said. Spain has been one of the hardest-hit countries in Europe.

“It’s true the coronavirus problem has affected the whole world, but in China things are better,’’ Wuhan Zall’s new-signing, Daniel Carrico, told reporters. ‘‘In Europe, cases are increasing daily but in Wuhan, fewer people are falling ill and there’s only a handful of new cases.”

While there are positive developments in China, concern remains in Europe with the lower league clubs in England, still worried about the financial impact of coronavirus on their budgets.

Zimbabwe international footballers, Macauley Bonne (Charlton Athletic) and Andy Rinomhota (Reading), play in the English Championship. Charlton have been struggling, battered by some boardroom struggles, and are said to require about £17million to cover running costs until June 2021. The EFL have placed Charlton under a “registration embargo” since January.

‘‘As part of the League’s continued contingency planning, the Board heard the comments and observations from EFL clubs, before discussing a number of issues including the current financial position and implications, insurance, regulatory matters and broadcasting arrangements,’’ the EFL said in a statement this week.

‘‘Discussions centred on financial relief for clubs in the short term and while there is no one single solution, measures are to be put in place to immediately assist with cash flow via a £50million short-term relief package.

‘‘This fund consists of the remaining Basic Award payments being advanced to clubs immediately, with the remainder made up through interest-free loan facility available to clubs, calculated in line with the EFL’s Article of Associations.

‘‘The cash injection is included as part of a series of measures, that includes potential Government support to help clubs and their associated businesses through this period of uncertainty.’’ Another Zimbabwean international, David Moyo, could also face challenges in Scotland where he plays for Hamilton in the Premiership.

“The club will be impacted, even if it’s from the point of view of the budget available for next season, and any income will be significantly reduced,’’ club chairman Allan Maitland told The Daily Record newspaper.

“We will miss four home games, which would have been big sellers, but there are cost savings to be made as well, because we won’t need to pay for stewarding or anything else for those games, and it’s about looking at what savings we can make.

“We will pay wages for March, April and May, and after that we don’t know what is going to happen, but it’s obviously not a good place to be. “Everybody will be impacted by this, not just football. It’s easy to over-react to what is happening but it’s also vital that we don’t under-react to it.”

Zimbabwe records two new positive Coronavirus cases, Chamisa confirms. In a very unsettling development, Zimbabwe has recorded two more COVID-19 cases, iHarare has established through zimbabwe’s main opposition party leader.

Speaking on his official account on microblogging site, Twitter, Nelson Chamisa revealed that he is reliably informed that at least two confirmed Coronavirus cases have been reported in the country’s capital. This comes barely a day after the first Coronavirus case was reported in the country.

Chamisa wrote,

I have just been informed by City authorities that we have two new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Harare this morning. Please takes preventive measures and exercise extreme caution wherever you are. We must together ACT to stop the virus from spreading. Remember to always wash your hands.

City of Harare Mayor Hebert Gomba also confirmed the alarming development using the same medium. In a rather terse tweet, Gomba said. New two cases confirmed in Hre, let’s work to fight this coronavirus.

The City of Harare also took to social media to warn residents to be cautious saying. Dear Residents. Council urges you all to be cautious with your health bearing in mind that two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at Wilkins Hospital. Measures to raise additional funding to fight the disease are being put in place.

According to the deputy editor of the Zimbabwe Independent, Brezh Malaba, the two new cases in Harare are as follows:

1. A man who recently travelled from the US (a non-Zimbabwean of Asian origin).
2. The son of a prominent Zimbo (for ethical reasons, I can’t reveal names).
But a clear pattern has emerged: immigration controls need a rethink

Trevor Noah hosts The Daily Show from home

With most countries in the world on high alert or lockdown over the coronavirus pandemic, late night TV host Trevor Noah has launched The Daily Social Distancing Show on YouTube. Trevor shot most of the show from his New York City home, where he is self-isolating.

Trevor explained that he and his team were working remotely from their homes, and didn’t know when they were going to go back to the studio. Coronavirus has changed everybody’s lives. What we’ve decided is to try to make The Daily Show from homes, not just my home but everyone’s home.

Trevor Noah

“The producers, the writers, the directors, graphic designers, we are all just going to chill at home and use the technology we have to make the show. Trevor said the decision to continue filming the show was due to the demand from their audience who still wanted to watch the show. The show focused around the trending topics at the moment, including US president Donald Trump’s latest coronavirus press conference, and the “kung-flu” controversy around the president.

Also on the show, Trevor recommended ways in which people can help those most affected by the coronavirus, such as not going to the emergency room for no apparent reason, and making sure they self-isolate to prevent spreading the virus.

His Daily Show’s Twitter account touched on SA’s decision to punish people who spread false rumours about the virus, saying: “In America it’s punishable by getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”

TimesLIVE reported that people could face a prison sentence of six months for spreading fake news about the virus, following an announcement on the Disaster Management Act regulations by co-operative governance minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

AKA went too far when he included the word ‘Moffie’ which a lot of people are offended with. He wouldn’t have found himself in this kind of situation where some of our local celebs are scratching him off.

After issuing an apology for using the derogatory word ‘moffie’ in his twar with rival Cassper Nyovest, some accepted his apology.

Lasizwe

In his apology he wrote; “I’d like to apologize to anybody offended by my use of the word “Moffie” in a previous tweet. At some point, i thought it wasn’t a big deal to use this word. I understand now that it’s not acceptable.”

Lasizwe

The word which is offensive to the LGBTIQ community, did not sit well with a lot of people. Somizi who represents the community as a public figure decided to let it slide and accept his apology.

However, flamboyant comedian Lasizwe Dambuza did not seem to share the same sentiments with Somizi.

“The fact that you could use that word so vulgar and loud! Speaks volumes! As a member of the LGBTIQ+ community, I am still highly offended by your choice of words… I’m praying for you man! HEAL bro!” Lasizwe reacted.

In a deleted thread, he then proceeds to cancel AKA.

Kanye West has supported two local charities to help provide meals to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic. The 42-year-old rapper has generously supported two organisations in both his hometown of Chicago and Los Angeles, where he currently lives, to aid people who are struggling during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Josephine Wade – who runs We Women Empowered in Chicago – told Access Hollywood: “Today when I got that call, that Kanye West wanted to help the elderly in Chicago and he chose his hometown in the South Side, his old neighbourhood, I was beyond words.

And in one phone call, in an instance today, our world was changed. The organisation provides a meal delivery service to the elderly in the area of Chicago where Kanye grew up. The ‘Jesus Walks’ hitmaker also reportedly donated to The Dream Center Los Angeles, in a bid to help the charity’s “drive-thru” meal service for those affected by the current crisis. It’s said the organisation is currently feeding 7 000 people a day, but it anticipates this to rise by another 2 000.

Kanye West

Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West has sent a stern message to her fans – particularly those who are “young and healthy” – on Instagram, asking them to “care about the health and safety” of others by making sure they stay at home and practice social distancing in order to try and stop the spread of the respiratory illness.

Writing in an Instagram Story, Kim explained: “Please everyone, especially people who are young and healthy, pls take the directive to stay home seriously if you care about the health and safety of your mom, father, grandparents, sisters, brothers, children and community. Unless you are leaving your home to go to work, restock on necessary food and essentials, to see your doctor or to help someone in need such as an elderly neighbor, please do not ignore the severity of the warnings to stay inside to stop the spread of this virus. Pastor Uses bibles and anointing oil to cover up drug trafficking. The cleric, Fearless Chitiyo (41) was busted by detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics in Bulawayo with a parcel containing heroin, morphine and codeine weighing more than one kilogramme.

A Bulawayo cleric was recently arrested for allegedly being part of drug smuggling syndicate after receiving a parcel containing dangerous drugs worth $130 000 from Israel. This was after the detectives had been tipped off by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) that they had received a suspicious parcel from Israel.

iHarare has established through state-media that the drugs were wrapped in a parcel that contained a small Bible, bottles of holy water and oil to conceal the crime.

Appearing before magistrate Ms Adelaide Mbeure, facing possession of dangerous drugs charges, the accused was not asked to plead. Prosecuting the case, Mr Terrence Chakabuda told the court that sometime in October last year, Zimra officials tipped off CID detectives that they had received a suspicious package addressed to Chitiyo.

The package was then opened in Chitiyo’s absence so as to investigate the matter. Drugs and other valuables were recovered.

‘The parcel contained a small Bible, 3×300 millilitres of holy oil, 2×300 millilitres of holy water, four small bottles of holy water, yellowish-brown lumps coated with white powder, yellow brown granules and yellowish-brown lumps coated with pink powder’, Mr Chakabuda told the court.

Samples were collected from each of the three packets and taken to a Forensic Science laboratory for examination. A report from the laboratory indicated that the packets contained heroin, morphine and codeine.

On Thursday this week, Selina Makate was arrested by the police after they initiated a controlled delivery. She was arrested whilst collecting the parcel. After being interrogated about the parcel, she revealed that it belonged to Chitiyo, her brother-in-law.

This led to Chitiyo’s arrest. In the court’s ruling. Chitiyo was remanded on $1 000 bail to March 31. Magistrate Mbeure sternly ordered him to continued residing at his given address and not to interfere with State witnesses.

Walter Mzembi calls for banning of ZANU PF. Posting on Twitter, Mzembi said, “I pray your first act is to rebrand ZITF, long overdue, and& send Zanu PF packing, it has no business being part of this exhibition, and commandeering prizes to itself, if you succeed on just this one you will be my hero !”

Former ZANU PF cabinet Minister Walter Mzembi has urged the Chairperson of Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Busisa Moyo to ban ZANU PF from exhibiting at the prestigious platform.

Mzembi asked Moyo to be strict on government departments who were using the platform as a means of siphoning money from the government through allowances.

“Secondly there are many defunct State Enterprises, which have long stopped performing their statutory mandates that carry huge delegations to ZITF just for prizes, bring this up through PAC they too must come under scrutiny.

“Third is Government Departments clearly with no mandate in trading or promoting anything that close shop for two weeks, burn fuel, air tickets, hotel accommodation and stipends in wasteful sojourns unrelated to ZITF, make this exhibition a business one.”

Busisa Moyo is adviser to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. In 2019, ZANU PF won he Best Zimbabwean Exhibit and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs), awards at the exhibition and in 2018 it also won the Best Exhibitor’s award.

During the run-up to the 2018 elections, the party spent nearly $500 000 setting up a stand at ZITF to recruit and register about 100 000 new supporters. The party started exhibiting at the ZITF in 2015.

Match made in heaven Greatman and wife Silibaziso Masara

Match made in heaven Greatman and wife Silibaziso Masara. Love appeared at the right age in the life of musician Tongai Gwaze (27) popularly known as Greatman with his perfect match Silibaziso Masara (24). The love birds first met in the heart of the Central Business District of Harare at corner Julius Nyerere and Robson Manyika streets.

When love reigns, no one will be able to separate the two. People can talk whatever they like but for a heavenly made match, negative words can strengthen the bond between the love birds. Somehow it is more like adding fuel to the flame of love.

It was at the corner symbolising that Greatman’s marriage life was around the corner. As a busy man, he was singing to his audience some melodies which stroke Silibaziso’s heart on the tenderest spot.

In an interview with Saturday Herald Lifestyle, Greatman said they first met in the CBD about nine months back when he was doing what God sent him to do, music and was attracted by Silibaziso’s beauty.

Silibaziso

“I first saw her in the CBD when I was singing and dismally failed to contain myself and kept on staring at her. “I tried to concentrate with my work but I kept on staring at her, it was love at first sight,” said Greatman.

His wife confirmed that. Greatman was given ten miles ahead close to winning Silibaziso’s heart due to the fact that, she was already in love with his music. Eventually, the two exchanged phone numbers and started chatting the very day. Silibaziso kept on following him where he was performing as usual since she was one of Greatman’s biggest fans.

They became to know each other well through chatting until Greatman decided to let the cat out of the bag. He delivered words which are too difficult to tell a girl to kick start a love relationship.

“After several appearances, he told me that he loves me more than anything under the sun. I saw love in his eyes but I didn’t take him serious,” said Silibaziso. It is in woman nature that when she receives such a message, the words will be circulating in her mind.

Greatman was on her mind before she accepted the proposal. “All his utterances of that day became part of myself. I was busy thinking for a response to his proposal as he kept on piling pressure on me,” she added. Love develops and grows like a mustard seed, she started developing love for him.

Pressure and excitement gripped her since she was on the verge of dating a celebrity. Finally, she accepted his proposal. He found out that all the qualities he wanted suits and fits like a jig-saw puzzle with those of Silibaziso. Greatman, as a great man paid an undisclosed bride price to Silibaziso’s parents in Ascot, Gweru on March 10, 2020.

Greatman

At first, Silibaziso’s relatives were not approving of the relationship between the two. But surprisingly, Greatman’s in-laws approved the marriage because they understand their daughter more than anyone else.

“My relatives didn’t want me to marry a man with disability, but my parents approved the marriage because they value love and also respect my feelings. “I feel secure to be with Greatman, I love him more than words can say,” she said. To Silibaziso’s parents, it was not a bombshell since they know that their daughter loves playing with people with disabilities.

She said she grew up in Gweru where she used to spend more time with her lovely friends. “I grew up in Gweru at Warambwa farm where I used to interact with my friends with disabilities, enjoying their company.

“For my hubby it is out of unconditional love and not something new in my love. “That’s why we are happy in our marriage, I love everything about him”, she said. Love has no boundaries and true love does not rely on material things.

Greatman said he neither owns a car nor a house and his wife does not mind that at all. “I don’t have a car and a house, we are renting, but currently paying for a stand-in Chiedza East to Morgan mortgage,” he said.

The two are happily married, share great moments together in Westlea where they lay their heads when the darkness falls. Renting five rooms with their siblings. Greatman showed that her presence provides warmth and the two are extremely deep in the ocean of love.

Silibaziso also highlighted that Greatman is sweet, his utterances are also sweet and he respects her. These love birds play, laugh, make love and “kutamba chikudo”, Greatman’s twin brothers Kudakwashe and Kundai Chari confirmed that.

Greatman

“We live together in Westlea, the two are happily married, always playing laughing and cracking jokes at night after work,” said Kundai who is also Greatman’s manager.  Silibaziso knows her hubby’s favourite meal, she prepares sadza and beans frequently. He eats the meal every morning before going to work.

“Usually my hubby likes sadza and beans which I prepare for him. I always make sure that he is happy and not hungry. “My main purpose as his wife is to put a smile on his face and he is a happy man,” Silibaziso added.

She feeds her husband, knows what he wants and describes the habit with astounding precision. Silibaziso is spoiling Greatman with unconditional love. You can observe that Greatman is on cloud nine and is experiencing a novel-like love story.

The couple is looking forward to have children in future. “Children come from God and we are expecting to have many of them.” The wife said they want seven children, five boys and two girls. Seven is a biblical emblematic number, which symbolises fullness.

Isn’t it clear that the match was made in Heaven?

It’s natural that soon after paying lobola, the two will tie the knot. Greatman and his wife are in preparation of a wedding but they did not disclose the date.  Silibaziso holds high hopes to wed at the Rainbow Towers but, is prepared to work with available resources.

“I have always wanted to wed at the Rainbow Towers but we definitely work with available resources. I am still looking for an affordable wedding dress. “I know that my hubby would want something bigger, which includes an after party but, our budget will determine everything,” she said.
